Prologue: The Gorstone

"The stone is finally ready"

The headmaster of the Elemental Heroes Academy sat in her office. Her name was Mrs Katrina. She was a middle-aged woman with pale skin and fair, long hair. She was fairly tall and she always liked to wear a midnight black robe. She was someone who always took her job seriously.

An old man came walking into the room. His name is Kirk. He was the assistant at the school. Kirsk walked into the room using a walking stick. Nobody really knew where he was from or how he got here. Rumours say that he was here before Mrs Katrina was here. Kirsk retired as headmaster after the Colonal war.

Back in the 20th century, the elemental hero world was at war. Kirsk was one of the solidiers who helped create the school to teach young heroes to fight and survive. As time passed, the school became the best in the country. After a severe injury involving a gunpower accident, Kirsk wasn't able to fight anymore. He stayed at the school and became the headmaster...

Something inside Kirsk shattered after the injury. From then on, he didn't talk much. Nowadays, you could spot him walking across the corridors watching as teachers and pupils alike pass sometimes. But what is surprisingly of all is that no 'normal' human being should've survived the explosion. Then how did Kirsk survive? The old man is the elemental master of speed. In his early adulthood, Kirsk could run up to 50x faster than 'normal' human beings. He doesn't use his powers nearly as often in his old age.

He stood in front of Mrs Katrina with a serious expression. "It's glowing again!" he exclaimed in a raspy voice. "All it did was glow since the day we got it!" He stared at Mrs Katrina. He was starting to get really mad. Mrs Katrina looked up from her paperwork, as if she only just heard Kirsk. "Give it time, Kirsk" she said once again. The old man was starting to get mad at the woman. Sometimes, he despised the woman.

As if reading his thought, Mrs Katrina said to Kirsk with a stern look, "The Gorstone will tell the prophecy when it's ready." Mrs Katrina, brows creased, was starting to get a little annoyed at him. She was usually a patient woman but Kirsk was the only one that got on her nerves. But she kept quiet, that's what helped her surive all these years after all...

Mrs Katrina didn't have a very good childhood. She was often bullied at school, on the days she actually went to school, that is. She was tall for her age back then but that didn't stop other kids abusing her and calling her names.

The reason she was bullied was simple. She was poor. Her father died when she was 3 and so she never got to experience a normal childhood. And so her mother, who didn't have a job, had to raise her only daughter alone.

But what saved Mrs Katrina all those years ago was her intelligence. She was smarter than everyone else in her class. She had a knack for outwitting the most powerful people. But just a few years later, Mrs Katrina, at the age of 13, her mother died. She was taken into a foster home but her and rest of the orphans were never taken care off. So she did what everyone else was scared to do...

She ran away. But after she unlocked her profound abilities, her life took a turn for the better. She started a new life on her own, getting by each day with her new abilities. That makes you wonder what ability she had...?

Kirsk stormed out of the room. 'Sometimes, I just despised that woman' he thought to himself...

1 WEEK LATER:

"Mrs Katrina, the stone-" cried one of many ex-soliders that guarded the Euron room running into the headmaster's office. Before he could finish the sentence, Mrs Katrina was out of her chair running to the Euron Room, the place where they kept precious objects like the Gorstone. It was safely guarded by five specially trained ex-soldiers. But they were nothing compared to the heroes...

The Gorstone has special properties. It is said to be a celestial object from space and hidden inside is an unbreakable unknown object containing the souls of dead heroes. Only heroes possessing high celestial power can touch this stone. It has the ability to prophecise the future but only small fragments of it.

Mrs Katina rushed into the room. Only an extremely few people knew about the Gorstone. None of the students knew it existed. Everyone was staring at the Gorstone, as it grew in size. Mrs Katrina was just in time to witness the rare event. Kirsk, who was standing by the door, stared in surprise as the Gorstone grew bigger and bigger until it grew to the size of a football. It started to float upwards. They all watched, mesmerized, by the celestial powers of the Gorstone. Suddenly, it started talking:

Darkness is ______

Darness shall ____ __

Ten shall travel

A Quest shall be held

A journey to the house of ___________

The Ten shall save us from the hands of destruction...

The Gorstone shrank done to it's original size.

Silence.

Mrs Katrina broke the silence. He looked at everyone in the room. "You heard the Gorstone, we need to find the ten heroes, and bring them here. They shall save us from the terror that shall soon arrive to haunt our kingdom. Castor, go down and find out which students are the chosen ones. And take the Gorstone with you. This Quest must be done as soon as possible!"

"You shall not do that, It is not your choice to make"
