Sect Master Feng Rong just finished his work regarding the exam's opening.

"I think this news will really give a big surprise to our rivals White Lotus and Royal Dragon. But really," He muttered as he was walking. "Achieving such a thing at this age is really amazing! As expected of my disciple!"

Feng Rong was thinking about the news he just said at the opening ceremony.

"Even I have to admit he is really the youngest to achieve such a thing. Because this Awesome and Great Me couldn't do it."

{But maybe... I didn't like being an elder so that's I didn't do it.} He thought. "Yes, that must be the reason. This awesome me can do everything hahaha…"

Yes...

These were the thoughts of the Sect Master who gave a grand speech to countless people a little while ago.

But now, he was shamelessly claiming that as if it was no big deal to him.

Although he may appear majestic in front of people, he was a very narcissistic person in front of the elders and the inner sect disciples.

He continued his thoughts as he walked towards a certain individual's room. {This brat is really a cultivation maniac...}

He reached the room and opened the door.

When he looked at the center of the room, he noticed a person lying unconscious in a glowing spirit circle.

Without hesitation, he rushed to the figure's side, his hands trembling as he searched for a pulse. But his worst fears seemed to be confirmed when he found no sign of life. Panic set in as he frantically tried to revive the figure, his mind racing with countless questions and doubts.

"Why is there no pulse?"

"No, it can't be! He can't be dead?!"

"Don't die, disciple. You can't die yet!"

While he was talking to himself, he was late to notice his dead disciple's arm slowly lifting.

"Huh?!" He was startled as soon as he noticed. Maybe a little scared too.

"You are alive!"

He shouted with relief and happiness.

"Rong Yuan!"

Rong Yuan's POV:

Where am I?

Who am I?

Why is everything black, and there is no light?

What happened to me?

What am I doing here?

Ahhh-argh!

Arghh!

What is this pain?

Ahhh-argh!

Huh-huh!

Hah-huh..!

Are these my memories?

Huh, now I seem to remember who I am!

I am the Sect Master of the Thousand Swords Sect sect and my name is Rong Yuan.

Right?

Yes, that is right.

But I am no longer the Sect Master or the Wind Spirit Emperor...

Because I'm no longer alive.

My disciples, my fiancé, and my friend betrayed me. All of them killed me...

Huh, even in death I'm still thinking about that.

Wait?

Why can I still think?!

Where am I? Is this the afterlife? How do I leave this place?

Huh, Is that light?!

Let's move towards it!

"Ro… Y..n"

"Rong Y.."

"Rong Yuan!"

Is someone calling me?

It's a familiar voice...

Wait!

Isn't it the Sect Master's voice?

What is he doing here?

Didn't he die?

Or did he come to get me out of this place?

Let's move faster!

Huh, I see the light!

As Rong Yuan gradually opened his eyes, the world around him came into focus. The first thing he saw was Feng Rong, standing nearby, his presence bringing a sense of comfort and reassurance. He wouldn't be alone in the afterlife anymore.

"Sect Master... Weren't you dead?"

The words that escaped his lips took Feng Rong by surprise, leaving him momentarily speechless. But within seconds, the surprise gave way to annoyance, his expression turning sour.

It was only natural for him to react this way. After all, who wouldn't be annoyed if they were told that they had died? Any reasonable person would have reacted in the same way as Feng Rong, his irritation and disbelief palpable in the air.

"I have died, so you've come to take me to the heavens because I can't go by myself. Yes, that must be it!" Rong Yuan continued to ramble on, heedless of Feng Rong's growing irritation.

Feng Rong's expression darkened further, his patience wearing thin.

"And you seem a lot younger than the last time I saw you before you died. Or maybe people look young when they die. But that doesn't have anything to do with me, of course, because I am always handsome and young."

Smack!

Before Rong Yuan could finish his sentence, Feng Rong's hand shot out, landing a resounding smack across his face. The sound echoed through the room, silencing Rong Yuan's inane chatter. Finally, he seemed to realize the gravity of the situation, and his expression turned serious.

Rong Yuan winced as the force of Feng Rong's slap jolted him back to reality. He blinked, trying to clear his head as he struggled to make sense of what was happening.

"Who are you calling a dead brat? You're the dead one! And are you saying I'm not handsome?" Feng Rong's voice shook with fury as he spoke.

But as Rong Yuan remained confused, Feng Rong's anger gave way to concern. "Or did you finally go crazy after cultivating non-stop and nearly died?" he asked, his voice now laced with worry.

Still struggling to come to terms with the situation, Rong Yuan began to look around the room, confusion etched on his face. He touched his arms, and his body, and even looked at Feng Rong with an intense gaze as if trying to confirm that he was really alive.

As Rong Yuan continued to look at him with intensity, Feng Rong began to feel uneasy. He could sense that something was off about Rong Yuan, and the intensity of his gaze only added to his discomfort.

"I'm alive, right?" Rong Yuan asked, his serious expression unwavering.

Feng Rong nodded reluctantly, still unsure of what to make of the situation.

{This kid nearly died. He must have hit his head or something. He's acting crazy and talking nonsense}, Feng Rong thought to himself, feeling a sense of pity for Rong Yuan.

But then, Rong Yuan's voice broke through his thoughts. "Ha-ha, ha-ha, I'm alive, I'm alive! I can correct everything now!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with joy and relief.

Feng Rong could only shake his head sadly, realizing that Rong Yuan was not quite himself. It was clear that something had changed, and he knew that he would have to tread carefully around Rong Yuan until he could figure out what was going on.

Then Yuan checked his cultivation level and try to figure out something.

"Sect Master are we in the Hundred Swords Sect? And I'm still an inner sect disciple?"

Feng Rong simply nodded his head, thinking what might be wrong with his disciple.

Then Yuan went silent for a while.

"Sect Master, since I am alive, I have something important to tell you." He started to talk, his tone serious. "I don't want to be an elder. And don't think about forcing me to become one either."

Rong Yuan stated firmly, his tone resolute.

Feng Rong could only shake his head in disbelief. "What nonsense are you talking about again?" he asked, trying to make sense of Rong Yuan's sudden change of heart.

"I won't be an elder!" Rong Yuan repeated, his voice growing more insistent.

Feng Rong was taken aback. "Did you forget why you wanted to be an elder? Why are you stepping down now? You finally reached the final step. You will be an elder. It is my order as your Master for your own good."

Rong Yuan stood his ground, his expression unwavering as he stared at Feng Rong. "Okay, I will become an elder," he said, his tone firm.

Feng Rong was relieved that Rong Yuan had finally come to his senses, but his relief was short-lived. "But, I don't take any disciples," Rong Yuan added, his words throwing Feng Rong off-balance.

"Why not?" Feng Rong asked, his frustration mounting. "Before, you were training and cultivating crazily to become an elder. Now you say you don't want to be one? Which sane person would believe you? And you're talking like this while acting crazy. And you know the tradition."

"I'm not crazy," Rong Yuan replied, his tone serious.

Feng Rong was taken aback by his response and paused to think it over. "I think you need to rest, Yuan. You will become an elder as you wanted before, so don't talk nonsense," he said, trying to reason with Rong Yuan.

But Rong Yuan was having none of it. "No, I won't do it!" he shouted, his voice growing more erratic by the moment.

Feng Rong's thoughts raced as he tried to come up with a solution to the problem.

{Oh no! He really went crazy. How can he teach disciples in this state? Maybe I decided too early to give him the elder status.}

{No... He Will take a disciple.  As it has been our sect's tradition for many ages.} He couldn't ignore the fact that Rong Yuan was acting strangely, but at the same time, he couldn't break the sect's tradition of a newly appointed elder taking in a personal disciple.

{It has become an unwritten rule by now. We can't break the rule. I hope he will come back to his senses before the exam ends. If not… Hahaha...}

{He will need to remember who really I am...} Feng Rong grinned evilly.

As Feng Rong was lost in thought, he didn't notice the sudden change in Rong Yuan's expression. It was a brief moment of shock, but it disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared.

"O-ok. I will do it."

"Huh? What did you say?"

"I said ook."

Feng Rong breathed a sigh of relief as Rong Yuan seemed to have regained his senses. "That's the spirit, boy. You're finally back to yourself," he said, pleased with Rong Yuan's transformation.

Rong Yuan looked at Feng Rong with determination in his eyes. "I will become a master. But I have a condition," he said, his voice trembling slightly.

Feng Rong was taken aback by Rong Yuan's sudden change of heart, but he was willing to listen. "Okay, say it," he replied, eager to hear what Rong Yuan had to say.

"I will take a disciple by choosing them myself. Nobody interferes with my choice," Rong Yuan declared.

Feng Rong considered Rong Yuan's request for a moment before agreeing. "Okay, I agree. You can choose your disciple yourself," he said, relieved that Rong Yuan's condition was not too unreasonable.

"Thanks!" Rong Yuan replied, a smile lighting up his face.

Feng Rong nodded. "Okay, now have a little rest. I will send Grandmaster Alchemist to check on you and make sure that you're okay."

As Rong Yuan heard Feng Rong mention the Grandmaster Alchemist, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of anger. Memories of his former fiancé, who was also a Grandmaster Alchemist, resurfaced in his mind.

"Ok, thank you for your help, Sect Master!" Rong Yuan said calmly, trying to hide his frustration.

"Goodbye Yuan, rest well. You will become an amazing master one day as this awesome one"

Feng Rong said, his narcissism once again on full display.

Rong Yuan rolled his eyes at Feng Rong's comment, but he didn't say anything. He watched as Feng Rong was leaving the room before turning his attention back to his own thoughts.

"Of course, I will be an amazing master. Not because I want to, but because I don't have any other choice," Rong Yuan muttered to himself, his frustration growing.

Feng Rong nodded before leaving the room, his mind already beginning to wander to other matters. He couldn't shake off the feeling that Rong Yuan was still hiding something, but for the time being, he decided to focus on the upcoming exam and let Grandmaster Alchemist take care of Rong Yuan's health.

But he didn't think much about his crazy disciple's nonsense. He was sure Yuan would come back to his former self after a rest.

He left the room leaving Rong Yuan who was immersed in his thoughts alone.
