29 [Luna Potential]

"Stay where you are!" After a few moments Haley heard a commanding voice directed at him from one of the pathways, he turned to face the direction the voice was coming from – a woman in combat armour was staring directly at him holding a rifle in her arms and pointing it at his head.

There was a group of four, similarly heavily armoured, behind her all of them pointing a rifle in his direction. From the other pathway another group had appeared doing the same creating a total of nine rifles pointed at his head currently, yet Haley remained unphased by this.

He saw the woman look him over, her eyes lingered slightly loner on his rifle before looking over the rest of his body; she seemed to become less alert upon realising he was outnumbered and outgunned.

"Who are you?" She asked stoically, still not moving her rifle from his head.

"You have one of my people here, I came to see if you were treating him properly." He said calmly, his calmness made her more alert as if despite his current situation his ability to remain calm made her believe he had something to rely on.

Haley, of course, didn't have anything else to rely on other than his physique and his weapon but he was confident that he could come out of any confrontation still with enough energy to fight afterwards.

'Who would've thought that so many well-trained troops would be hidden beneath the city? I wonder what else this city is hiding from the rest of us.' He thought wonderingly as he looked over their gear, it was higher quality than anything he'd ever seen in the city before.

She seemed to hesitate for a moment before holding her hand to her ear, her expression changed several times before calming after a moment she looked up at Haley in horror as if he was a monster.

In response he gave her a small smile and little wave, "I'm sorry about the door." He said simply before waiting for her to finish.

"Yes sir, I'll bring him immediately." She was done in another couple of moments and lowered her rifle, the men behind her and behind him lowered their own at the sight of their leader putting her weapon down.

"Fol- follow me please sir." She said, she continued trying to hide her stutter, Haley assumed that she had been told about what he'd done to the door on his way in which was the reason for her huge shift in attitude, 'Well, anyone would think I was a monster if they saw something like that; she's probably imagining what that sort of force would do to the human body.' He mused before walking after her, he patted one of the men on the shoulder seemingly for no reason before moving on.

The men simply waited for him to walk past them before silently following him from behind, it would be easy for any one of them to shoot him in the back at this point but to ensure his safety he had quietly hacked their communications when he had briefly patted the man's shoulder.

Fortunately for them it seemed they had no plans of backstabbing him, the only chatter on their comms was confusion as they were trying to figure out why their boss had become so respectful to the guy who'd intruded on their turf.

After a few minutes longer of walking down corridors and making turns they finally arrived at what seemed to be their infirmary, the medics running back and forth, and the occasional patient being moved past was what gave it away.

"Hold." The female commander said to her troops, they quickly assembled evenly at the sides of the corridor, so they didn't disrupt the medics. After issuing her commands she didn't stop and walked towards one of the rooms and motioned for Haley to come through.

Haley walked into the room to see Antares on a bed, unconscious, hooked up to a monitor – his heart rate was normal and he looked to be in a much better condition than he had when Haley had seen him in the video, whatever they had done had healed him in a short ten or so minutes much to his shock.

The female commander just glanced at Antares before walking out of the room, leaving him alone with the boy and the doctor who was currently attending to the monitors at the side of the room and occasionally moving around a few documents and writing down a few details.

He was too absorbed in his work to notice Haley looking at the documents he was working on, Haley saw several mentions of the word 'Will', 'Potential' and 'LuVal' which piqued his interest.

"What sort of tests are you doing on him?" He asked curiously, "Woah!" His voice caused the doctor to jump up out of his chair and turn to face him, "Who the hell are you?! Can't you see I'm working here! Security!" He called quickly before pausing and realising that anyone that could get into this room was probably meant to be here.

"Ah I'm sorry, I used to work in a public hospital – I'm used to more privacy you see." He said sheepishly, his mood had done a complete one-eighty, but Haley didn't mind it and asked rather impatiently, "Can you answer my question?"

The doctor nodded and motioned at the monitors that they had Antares hooked up to, "The boss wants me to monitor his consciousness and see if there's anything special about him, his degree of resilience is absolutely astonishing! He had passed out when he came here but the moment, we tried to inject him with anaesthesia he woke up and broke the arm of the nurse before passing back out; he has remarkable instincts." He said in awe as he gave a look of admiration to Antares.

Haley was surprised as he looked at Antares in another light before asking himself, '001 is there really anything special about this kid?' He knew that if there was something that would know Antares's body than the boy itself it would be the AI that had established itself in the boys nerve system.

It took a few moments before he received a reply but sure enough:

[He has a high potential to harness what is referred to as 'LuVal' which has reinforced his body subconsciously since birth, this could be the reason for his extraordinary will – or it could simply be that he is psychologically stronger than others due to his life experiences so far.]

001's Insight was helpful for Haley to understand Antares's condition, truthfully the idea of having a Luna under his command was slightly thrilling, just as he was about to ask when the kid would be ready to leave as the door opened and the doctor became startled.

"Boss!"
