2 Enchantment

Stepped out of the crumpy room he stayed in, Harry subconsciously closed both his eyes because of the surrounding changes. Putting his palm above his eyelids as a cover, Harry slowly opened his eyes and widened them in the next second.

Passing by him were many men dressed in linen clothes with colourful colour, matching pants, and boots. Some of them even had their stocking up to their knees. Women were simpler, wearing only a dress with their own designs.

"What the heck?" Harry blurted out immediately, drawing attention from Luke and other kids.

"Did your brain damage reached the level where you had to shout every once and while?" Luke sarcastically rebuked.

Harry couldn't bother himself with Luke's nonsense and immediately goes to the nearest shop where a window is attached.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Luke cried out, but was only ignored by Harry, who currently seems in profound shock.

Before his eyes was a boy with pale skin, a skinny build, seem lacking nutrients. Wearing the same but dirtier linen garments, the boy currently had his golden eyes entirely open under the shock.

"No way..." Harry mumbled in realization. He couldn't believe that he was actually isn't himself. Like, what's the meaning of this?? How could his appearance change in only one night?

'Wait... I've also had a dream about getting backstabbed. Could it be was real? And now I'm living in another body??'

Suddenly, he felt someone's palm on his shoulder, "Exia...Don't tell me your brain really got damaged."

Turning his head, Harry saw Luke stared at him in a frightened and little worried gaze.

'It seems this boy still had his consciousness intact.' Harry thought to himself before proceeding to let out a small smile, "I'm alright. I'm just a bit dizzy."

Punching his fist lightly against Harry's shoulder, Luke scoffed, "Tch! Let's go then. We couldn't afford our spots getting snatched by another group."

With that, Luke and the other kids began to walk away, followed by Harry, who's stayed at the most behind side because his mind still processing what's happening.

...

'So, my name is Exia Glide now?' After sorting his thought, Harry decides to use the name this body initially have because he doesn't want to be regarded as a brain-damaged retard with delusional disease by using Harry name.

At first, he was scared, confused, and perplexed about the sudden turn in his life. Yesterday, he was only a third-class high school student that in the middle of preparing for his final exam. Now, he's a boy around age 14 that had to struggle to live by himself, without support and parents.

Every person placed in the same situation as he must be having the exact feeling as he. Frighten, confused, home-sick. During the journey, he wanted to cry so badly. He misses his parents, his family, his school friends, and even his neighbour. He really wanted to see one familiar face at least, but alas, even after followed Luke wandering through the street for a few minutes, he couldn't spot a single the faces he knew.

Quietly sobbing, Exia covered his mouth, tried to cover his expression. He didn't want Luke and the rest to inquire about his matter anymore. Connecting his mysterious transmigration with many novels he read, Exia felt that his presence here must be due to certain circumstances. Probably, he was called to this world because they need a hero, which is him!

Based on that thought, Exia starts laughing out loud, resulting in Luke's group, casting a weird look at him as though he were an idiot.

While laughing and crying at the same time, Exia mused inwardly, 'This will be the first laugh I had on this world as Exia and the last for Harry. Farewell, mother, dad, my friends. I sincerely hoped we could meet again in the next life.'

'Goodbye~'

...

After venting his emotions out like a crazy man by chuckling and weeping, Exia found himself becoming free as if unleashed from the shackle that has been burdened his heart ever since yesterday.

"Is this why a crazy guy does always look happy? Being crazy could sometimes set off someone from misery." Exia couldn't help but mumble in awe. Currently, his state of feeling already went tranquil. With his unstable emotions been settled down, his mind becomes clear, and thus, he could now thinking more logically.

He didn't know the reason he gets summoned onto this world. However, what he did learn from the experience he had on Earth was that every existence had its meaning. Henceforth, there must be something special that has managed to connect his soul to the body of this dead boy, whom he suspects of dying of hunger.

'What could it be?' Exia wondered.

"Shit! Those bastard has overtaken our spots!" Luke growled in anger, dragging Exia back to the real world. Turning his eyes to the direction Luke saw, Exia noticed another boy's group consists of five people were discussed something in front of a valley.

"What should we do, Luke?" A boy with half-side of his head shaved asked.

Glaring at him, "What do you think we should do, Ryan? Of course snatch it back!"

Without waiting for everyone's response, Luke starts to rush forward and punched one of the boys, surprising them before they broke into a rage, "LUKE!!"

In no time, a fight broke out between the two groups. Exia, who hasn't been accustomed to this type of life, could only watch hesitantly on the back. In his entire life, he never participated in these kinds of thug battles. Seeing the thugs' battles unfold, he regrets not having attempted to rebel for once throughout his school life.

"What are you doing, Exia? Fast, help us! We'll lose if you keep watching us, you idiot!" Exia snapped out from his thought upon hearing Luke's scream. In a moment of hesitation, Exia letting out a roar as he charged, "AHH!!"

Because his fighting experience was so shallow, equivalent to the kindergarten level, Exia could barely exchange a few movements from the other party and almost crumbled down in the first clash. Were it not for his groupmates, who responded fairly quickly and helped him. His body must be lying on the ground weakly now.

...

Exia didn't help much in the battle later on and only won because of Luke's perseverance, which managed to intimidate the other party.

"Retreat!" One of the boys from the other group said and immediately walked away.

Watching the other party scurried away, Luke wiped the blood on his lips with his thumbs before glaring at Exia, "Is your hunger affect your fighting capability so much? You fought them in the way of an opposite of good, really bad."

In response to Luke, Exia only laughed awkwardly. This was the first time he brawled after the last dispute he had in elementary school. That's why his movement was so rigid because he had yet familiar either with the body he's currently possessed.

"Forget it. Let's just give this spot to Exia. He'll be no use in the later fight, anyway. How's your opinion, Lockey?" Luke asked the man whose hair covered his eyes.

"I don't mind it," Lockey answered shortly.

"Same."

...

After a brief discussion, the confused Exia was left alone by himself, not knowing what to do. During the discussion, Exia using his damaged brain as an excuse asked what he should do by sitting here. And the answer he got from everyone was, "Figure it out by yourselves."

"Sigh...They are really irresponsible." Exia sighed under his breath and racked his brain to find his purpose being stationed here while lowering his head. Suddenly, he felt someone's presence ahead of him. He was about to lift his head when his ears caught the sound of a coin dropped. Lifting up his head, he saw that the man was already moving away, and a piece of the coin was lying on the ground opposite him.

'So that was it.' E

Exia now had a conclusion brewing on his mind. He was stationed here to be a beggar. The money he got from here then would be stored into Mister Braun's pocket, in exchange for food. No other transactions are allowed. If it's not an exploitation of underage kids, what else could it be?

Using the kids' pitiful appearance, Mister Braun ordered them to become a beggar, while he would provide them with a shelter for free. In another perspective, it looks like a win-win situation, but actually it's not in the long term. It's more like slavery.

This situation also occurred a lot on Earth. However, at that time, he didn't consider such a matter was serious, probably because he didn't experience it by himself. But now...

"Now...What can I do?" Exia sighed as he stared at his bonelike-hand. He couldn't even fight properly, moreover retaliate against Mister Braun.

When he thought his life would be hard, Exia saw a tiny scarlet-red orb floating quietly on his side. Assuming it was just part of his imagination, Exia poked it with his forefinger.

Instantly, he felt a lot of information surged forth tried to enter his brain without his consent. His brain felt like being burned and pierced by a thousand needles. He wanted to shriek in pain, but no voice comes out. Withdrawing his finger in rapid, Exia collapsed on his butt, while perspiration beads already covered his whole body.

However, in that brisk moment of pain. He success catches a glimpse of information that tried to breach into his brain.

It was
