1 Chapter 1

Four days have passed since he opened his eyes to this unknown world. The lush greeneries, the clean air are very nostalgic yet foreign to him. A 15-year-old boy, slightly underweight, 165cm in height, black hair, and light brown skin with facial features common in Southeast Asian countries is currently looking on his reflection from the riverbed while kneeling on his right knee. The kid sigh and raised his voice, "4 days….been walking for 4 days! Where the hell am I!" The boy closes his eyes and tried to recall what happened a few days ago.

Recollection:

The early thirty's guy was running towards the front door of his house. The cab dropper him off few meters away from the door to his house. He uses his rectangular black bag as an umbrella and covers his head due to the torrential rain. He hastily paid the chauffeur and verbalized to keep the change then he runs out from the car. When he was inside his house, he notices that the temperature seems low and keep on decreasing when he walked towards the inner part of his small 20 square meter house. Although it is a wet season, the chilliness is not something that will be felt in Southeast Asia. The temperature is approximately 10 degrees Celcius. The man was not bothered over the unusual events and continue to his room. He looks at the physical copy of the game on the side table of his bed and all of the sudden the light outside from his window vanishes. He slowly approached the window and saw nothing but a pitch of darkness, as if the light will not penetrate it. His heart is beating beyond 100's/minute, suddenly his vision turns black then after he heard several unknown people whispering unknown language.

Present:

He opens his eyes and stared at the horizon. He thought that this experience is similar to what happened in the game that he played called Legacy. He paused a bit, then his eyes widened when he realized that what he had experienced so far is similar to the game which halted 2 years ago due to huge scandal involving the current gaming company CEO stole the Legacy content from the unnamed independent developer so the the CEO handed at least 50% share to the unnamed developer.

He sighs and looks around and noticed that the plants cannot be found on earth. He still remembers the flowers in his footsteps. The white lie lilies is a very common flower in the Kingdom of Lacusta under the Empire of Glacia.

When those thoughts just keep on appearing in his mind, his heartbeat starts to increase. He took a deep breath to relax and keeps telling himself that getting nervous will not help him. If by chance that magically! he is in the game then by the game's progression, few kilometers from where he stands is the location of the small village of Lacusta I. The kingdom of Lacusta's neighboring fief will have the word Lacusta after the settlement hierarchy followed by roman numerals.

In the game, the small village of Lacusta I has less than 600 population.

In the game, in order to raise a settlement rank. The settlement must fulfill 4 specific criteria's. The lowest settlement rank is a hamlet.

In order to create a hamlet, the hamlet must have:

1. One copper class citizen

2. The population must reach 100

3. Income annually generated is at least 1 gold for the last 2 succeeding years

4. Common soldiers at least 5

To upgrade into a small village, a small village must have:

1. Two copper grade class citizen or One Brass Class citizen

2. The population must reach 1,001 population at the time of inspection

3. Income annually generated must reach at least 10 gold for the last 2 succeeding years

4. Common Soldiers at least 20

The young man sigh and tried to recall is name and origin but all he can remember is that he is the son of an ordinary farmer. His hamlet was raided by some unknown bandits with a tarantula like a tattoo on their right arms.

The majority of the people whole live in the Hamlet of Lacusta IV were able to flee. Due to the confusion, he fleed in the opposite direction to where his parents' fled. The only other information the is relevant is his name, his parents called him Amer. He smiles to himself and decided to retain his name from his previous life which Kyle. He tried to dig more information but it seems that the information that he got is fragmented. Maybe amnesia or trauma prevented him from digging the child's memories. There something that blocks when he tried to dig deeper. There is some kind of resistance when digging more information about this child's history.

Kyle sigh and halted digging information because he noted pain all over his head. He looked at the sky and smile. In the game, most of the players were summoned several kilometers away from a small village of Lacusta. While pondering, Kyle heard animal footsteps running towards his direction. His heartbeat increases then he hurriedly hides. He runs towards the huge tree near the river bed and controlled his breath. Six cavalries wearing a full set of brass like armor pass through the river bed. Kyle cautiously peaks and saw their backs. He was staring at the flag logo that the last cavalry was holding and he laughs by himself. What he saw was a logo of a birdlike, white creature. In the game, those cavalries are under that banner of Lacusta Kingdom.

He observes on the printed hooves on the ground and sigh and thought that what he has as of the moment is real and not some VR bullshit. Still, he still has some doubts because maybe he is gone mad. Then he contradicted himself and thought that his heartbeat is real, the feeling is real! He even has gooseflesh!

He collected his thought and guess where he is right now. There was a forum in the games that the two Lacusta cavalries appeared on the south gate of the small village after three days the village was burnt to the ground. He thought if that cavalry will be going to the towards the village then there must be a reason why they were delayed and only two appeared in the game.

In the game, the players were to choose to fight them or ignore them but almost all players will fight the two calvaries because they will drop at least 20% rate a sword called river-cut. This sword is good for a commoner or unranked class till the first rank or the copper class especially for class who specialized in swords.

He slowly walks towards where the cavalry was heading by following the hooves imprinted on the ground. Kyle noticed while he was walking he saw several monsters along the way. Most of the monsters are copper class monsters such as slime, white horned rabbits and horned white chickens, which are common in this area. His feeling is agreed with his observation that he is not on Earth anymore.

While following the hooves, he heard several people arguing and shouting. Kyle did push through. He hide to one of the bushes and waited for a while then he heard a "clang" sound. He thought that the people ahead of him are fighting. Almost an hour has passed, the shouting stops and he heard two mounts galloping forwards until the sound is not distinguishable anymore. He waited for a few minutes before he moves forward.

He did not hastily run towards the area where he heard the fighting, instead, he cautiously walks forward to the direction of the noise and noted three armored people on the ground. All three people were already dead for they were decapitated. It seems that the six cavalries rested for a while then some misunderstanding happened? He laughs off of what he just deduced, then lean to the question Why? He thought, No one will cut off someone's head in a mere misunderstanding. There must be more to it.

Kyle recalled that the game does not offer main or sub quest, it was created to create one's own quest. This game was so popular that even several politicians on earth would play. One will not receive a quest unless he steps on it. The games were very brutal that the united nation banned them but due to some politicians who played with it and opposed it, it was lifted after a week of being banned. This game has several awards and was called the game of the century.

He collected his thought and murmured, "God! What the hell am I doing in here?" While pondering he heard a shout, "May God kill the traitors!" Kyle looked around and saw an armored guy sitting and resting his back on the tree. The injured man removes his helmet and shouted, "It is better that you come out." Kyle nervously came out from where he was hidden. The pale man lifted his head and smile. Kyle noticed that the man's right arm was cut off and blood keeps on gushing. The man weakly smile at him and said, " I have request from you….Please end my life…" Kyle was shocked and stuttered," I can't! I have not killed anyone!" He lifted his sword and slash in the are. A wind force was generated in the mid-air and flew towards Kyle's direction, Kyle closed his eyes and thought, this is it! I man dead! Then a growl was heard from his back when he looked back, he saw a 3 meters one-horned bear on the ground. The injured man sigh, "The monster within this vicinity will be drawn by the smell of blood…. before I will become a monster food…please give me a proper death." Kyle was scared, this is the real deal he thought. This is different from the game itself. He cleared his throat and slowly approached the man. Kyle quickly study the man, he is in his early 30's, around 6', dirty white hair, white to olive skin, and hazel eyes. Too young to die he thought. Kyle was about to grab the sword when the injured guy grabs his hand. "You're an unranked citizen?" He sighs and smiles weakly then looked towards Kyle and said, "Gather all those soldiers including my dead body. Then use our body to form a square as a tool for this ritual that I will be teaching you. This will be my payment after you will give me my death." Kyle widened his eyes when he heard the injured man want him to do and he blurted out, "You want me to use a Blood Crown Opening Ritual" The injured guy smile weakly and said, "It seems that you know that ritual…. or you can just go to the church of Light, what do you think will they do to you?" Kyle frown when he thought the idea because opening the soul in the church at his age will certainly lead to his death, especially the church." Kyle took a deep breath and said, "At least tell me your name before I deliver you to the arms of the Gods." "My name is Olive Rave….." Kyle nodded and said, " Do you have any last request before I send you to the Gods?" Olive expression hinted with surprise and said, " If you find my sister Olivia Rave, please guide her and help….and one more thing….don't trust the Glacial nobles or any kingdom under it. East from the Glacial Empire is Agnis's Empire. Better go there for safety, they are more tolerant and fair compare to this empire." Olive lifted the sword from the ground and slashes the air and wind like whitish semi-transparent energy was unleashed and another 2 three meters horned bear died. Olive handed Kyle the sword, " Hurry" Olive whispered. Kyle quickly pierced on the sternal which pierce Olive's heart. Olive tears flow while he smiles and says thank you. Kyle hugged him and said, "May you rest in peace." Olive's last response was, " I did everything to the empire yet they betrayed me….Thank you, brother, for sending in my eternal rest."

After a few minutes, Kyle heard several growling from afar. He formed a square using the dead bodies of the four soldiers. Within the square is filled blood came from the corpses. Kyle tried to recall chant to the ritual, "Hear me…Hear me….this I offer these bodies to you, hear my pleas. Please plant thy seeds within my soul and open my window to my soul." All of a sudden, the blood within the squared was absorbed by Kyle. Arteries all over his body became visible with a reddish colour. His heartbeat increases several times. Jake drop down his knees a vomited several times. He felt like his body is burning and in pain. He shouted several times because of the agony. His skin cracks and the blood vessels are pulsating. The Agony is scraping your skin with a blade. The pain duration is almost 2 hours before it stops. Kyle was lying on the ground in a fetal position when he woke up. The bodies around him were burnt to the ground. What was left are 4 rings from the corpses. He slowly stands up and grabs the rings. He thought, at least what he can do is to deliver it to their families.

Kyle heard again the growls and it became louder and louder. He painfully stands up and grabs anything that he can find on the burnt corpses. He took one of the swords, coins and painfully run towards the direction where the two cavaliers go.

Kyle was walking and running at the same time. When he was about a few meters away from where he had performed the ritual. He looks back and saw several 5 meters black and brown bear growling at each other and cannibalized the corpses of their own. Kyle took a deep breath and continue to walk. Kyle has been walking for almost 7 hours and he still can't see the small village. He looks around and saw grasses grass that is as tall as three feet. Trees that are as tall as 15 meters.

Kyle walks towards the shade of one the trees and sit in meditative from.

He wants to continue walking towards the village but he is not ready to die. For sure there will be a hard fight ahead. He was not even sure if the village was already burnt to the ground or continue to exist. He now knows the reason why only two cavaliers were able to visit the small village of Lacusta I. He sigh on the reality that even your colleague whom you been working for how many years might be a traitor. Reality may make you stronger or weaker.

Kyle closes his eyes and tries to circulate the energy within him. After an hour of meditation, he found himself in a dark area wherein the seed that is big as his fist was highlighted with light. He walks towards the seed and touches it. The seed wiggle several times until Jake heard a cracking sound. A small sprout came from the cracked. All of a sudden, his consciousness drags him out from the dark place. He opens his eyes and information were visible on his cornea.
