4 4. Guns, Runes and Age.

Despite my great amount of strength and far higher than average senses and reflexes, I am expected to get most of my kills from a range. I am not old enough to go on missions or contracts being only 7 years old, but I have been trained as an assassin since I was born.

Our primary weapon of usage would be guns. On their own, they are versatile, powerful and can be used safely out of range of your opponent, the perfect weapon for assassination, just above poisons and blades in their usage which are less reliable than using a gun in assassinating someone.

The reason our family is considered one of the, if not the best family of assassins in the world, is because of our impeccable success rate. This is not only because we use guns, but because of how we improve them.

Our family has invested heavily in improving guns with runes and magic. Silencing runes, reinforcement runes, invisibility runes.. Do you have any idea just how powerful that is?

Mundane guns are powerful in and of itself, faster than most magicals can defend themself against, especially when caught unprepared, but they're still not unbeatable, especially with magicals having their magic to reduce the impact a bullet wound would normally achieve.

With magic, however, you can make the speed of the bullets almost 3 times faster. Reinforce all of the materials so that they can handle the amount of energy the shots release, increase the sensitivity and explosiveness of the gunpowder which is also mixed with a magical material called Exploding Fluid, further increasing the speed and power of the bullet.

Reinforcing and even creating bullets with magical materials so that the bullets are not only stronger, but also have far higher penetration power and impact.

Silencing charms to stop any sound from leaving the gun, easily making sure that nobody finds or hears you at the scene of the crime.

Shrinking and Invisibility Charms or Runes easily make it so that you can carry them inside and hide them perfectly, never being found as evidence, especially with how magicals almost never think to defend themself against methods that aren't magical.

Overall, even in my previous life I had been interested in the killing power of guns and with magic to improve them, I was very interested in experimenting with them myself.

I am now 8 years old, since yesterday. I did try to line myself up with the Harry Potter timeline and it turns out that Harry Potter himself was born in 1995 while I was born in 1992, though other than that from what I can tell things like Harry Potter becoming the Boy-Who-lived and losing his parents at one year old remained the same, even the month and day, July 31st were the same, just 15 years later than it should be..

I decided that I would not rely on my future knowledge for anything accurate and would instead use them as guidelines should I ever find myself involved with something that happens in the books or movies, though I doubt that I'll interact with Britain in the first place, unless it's for assassination purposes, of course, but even then Hogwarts would be off-limits.

My 8th birthday is a rather exciting one, I must admit. Why? Well that's because family members are sent on their first contract at 8 years old, sort of like an initiation if you will.

Another thing that I was gifted for my 8th birthday, is my first set of gear. For one, every Nightshade is given a Nightshade ring when they're 8. The ring is a magical focci, and works like a wand does.

The difference between the ring and the wand is that the wand would be a little more powerful and more specialised in certain aspects of magic, while the ring is more well-rounded and balanced while having lesser power than a wand.

One more thing that I was gifted was my armor. It's made of Graphorn hide, one of the toughest hides in the world, and is heavily runed. I am expected to keep this armor with me for the rest of my life as it has self-growing and auto-cleaning runes on them, it is also bullet-proof and very spell-resistant.

The armor is given to all Nightshade family members. If one of us dies, the armor will be teleported away, keeping it safe from a possible enemy stealing it.

The hide is incredibly rare and it would be a huge waste of materials to replace it, therefore there are multiple fail safes in place to keep anyone not in the family from obtaining it.

Right now, it's time to prepare for my first contract. I have exactly 1 week to assassinate my target, who happens to be a corrupt politician.. sounds like fun.

Alright, so my first plan of action is to scout ahead. I have been given a rough location of my target, but do not have any details on where they will be heading in the future, so step one will be finding out their schedule for the next week. It seems I know what my next move will be.. Infiltration.

I suppose it's time to prepare my weapons and gear.

Making my way over to the weapons room, I loaded myself up with 2 handguns, both shrunk and able to be enlarged once touched, a sniper rifle compactly loaded into a magically shrunken trunk the size of a matchbox.

By the time I was ready, I was loaded with 2 magically enhanced smoke screens, an explosively enhanced grenade, all weapons contained auto-reloading charms and auto ammo-refilling charms that allowed for almost unlimited ammo, 3 emergency portkeys and was entirely equipped with armor, from my hands to my face that was covered with a mask and hood

My final pieces of equipment are magically enhanced contact lenses that automatically adjust to the darkness and also have an infrared mode that lets me see through the smoke screens that I brought along with me, not that I think they will be necessary.

It also has a function that allows me to see through most walls unless they are magically reinforced or are made of a few different materials that are unable to be seen through, allowing me to have yet another tactical advantage over my opponents while also letting me gain valuable intel far more efficiently and effectively.
