Cause and Effect(part-2)

In a quiet and peaceful shrine, a young monk could be seen praying to a Buddhist statue. After praying for half an hour, the monk slowly stood up as an air of serenity and peace emanated from him. Walking out of the temple, the monk walked along the sides of a grand garden that lead to a small pavilion.

Although the pavilion was small it had intricate designs, making it stands out and seem special. What also added to its special nature was the statue that had been erected at its center. The statue was that of a monk in his late fifties. He was adorned in long Buddhist robes as his big bead necklace lay atop his slim shoulders. On his forehead were their signature nine burn marks, arranged into three rows. Under the statue was a carving which read, Great Master Ryotan.

The young monk looked at the statue and let out a gentle smile as he slowly bowed showing his appreciation and strong reverence to the great master Ryotan. After raising back up, he turned around and started walking out of the small pavilion. But as he did, he suddenly felt dread welling up inside of him. A feeling telling him that something bad was about to happen.

And just as he felt that, thunder sounded and a flash of light was seen followed by the surroundings turning into a shade of red!

"AAAAAGH"

*BOOOOOM!!!!!!*

A thunderous yell was heard before it was drowned out by the sound of collapsing structures. The young monk hurriedly turned around but what greeted him was the sight of the pavilion in ruins and a man dressed in black attires collapsed on the structure with crackles of electricity and patches of flame around his body.

With a sudden jolt, the man jumped up and rushed to the monk with malicious intent. But before he could reach him, red hellish light, which increased in intensity by the second illuminated the ground as a fiery foot stomped on him from the back, slamming him on the ground.

"AAAAAGH!!!" blood spilled out of robber the robber's mouth as he could feel at least two broken ribs. All hope seemed lost for the robber, as a fiery hand grabbed him by the hair.

"You've caused quite a ruckus!" said the hero. But his words fell on deaf ears as the robber weakly tried to free himself from the iron grip. His hands struggling to get him out of his current predicament. And such an opportunity came when he saw the monk that had yet to move due to the shock caused by the sudden destruction of his revered master's statue.

Looking at the monk, the robber let out a twisted smile as he pointed his hand toward him. His intentions were obvious, kill the monk and save himself! Reason? What type of hero stands by when the innocent are in danger? Although the chance of him dying alone was high, he still had to take the chance.

Raising his hand, lightning cracked as he pointed it towards the still shocked monk! "YOU BASTARD!" the hero, predicting what was to come, howled as he threw the robber as far as he could.

*BOOOOM*

The attack was unleashed as an arm-thick bolt of electricity was sent towards the monk!

"Noooo!!!" the hero yelled.

*BOOM!!!*

The attack connected! But the monk was still standing, frozen in place. In front of him was the fiery hero. His back burned as his skin had dark patches, as well as none! Saving the monk from the deadly attack using his body! He coughed up blood as he fell to his knees!

Using this opportunity, the robber jumped and quickly flew in another direction. Trying to escape as fast as he can. But just as he did, from the statue of the now not-so-great Ryotan, a golden aura leaked out and disappeared into the surrounding.
