3 Chapter 3: Freedom
As I enter the tank again, ending another of the training simulations. I get hit with a wave of emotions scared, pain, and disbelief. Pounding me like waves crashing on the sand. Slowly as I separate others feeling from my own, feelings of relief from finishing another grueling simulation. I start to realize that I can sense more people than the norm there were more off in the distance about 3 more people. Now, this is not unusual but with the fear radiating from people around me they did not know who it was and why they were there.
"How did they find us?" a doctor says in passing.
Other states "Did the illusive man rat us out?"
"Don't be ridiculous I0 is still here and he wants him for himself." the first one says.
Sound like Dr. Mcloud has fallen out of favor with the big bad boss. Maby this is my time to escape from this wretched place. I just hope I don't have to kill my rescuers to be fully free.
The Rescuers pov
"Garrus how many outside the facility?" Shepard asks.
"I can count 10 in front, 6 on each of the sides, and 5 on top. There look to be 5 snipers in total. It's weird though they all look exactly alike." Garrus states
"Who cares let's get this over with. Doesn't matter now does it they are all dead in the end right." Wrex deeply chuckles.
Shepard "Well let's be careful we don't know what they have been doing here and from the last Curberuse facility we destroyed they could have anything in there. Wrex you take the point, Garrus start picking them off."
"Good" Wrex states crashing his hand together. "This will be fun."
As the human and the krogan sneak their way down the hill to the base suppressed sniper fire sounds above them.
"Dang Pijack better leave some for me," Wrex grumbles.
As they get closer to the base, slowly sneak behind the enemy killing them off one by one. The alarm sound brings attention to the human and the krogan. The firefight ensues but surprisingly even outnumber, the defenders die off quickly.
"That was easy barely got my shield down." Wrex sadly states.
"Garrus was right," Shepard states taking off a helmet from one of the enemies. "They are all the same, they also fought like they had only basic training. Clones look like this was one of their cloning bases."
I0 pov
I can feel the intruders slowly working their way toward me. Feeling the sudden decrease in emotions around me. Looks like they are quite skilled.
Dr. Mcloud enters muttering. "I will show them my best creation will kill them all. Just you see."
As Dr. Mcloud rushes to the console furiously typing in commands. The door behind him opened with a whoosh. 3 figures enter from their blurry shapes I recognize their race. From the left is a 6'2" human avian figure. The middle is a human female. The left is a 7'4" reptilian figure stands. Looks like a turian, human, and krogan are the invaders I wonder if it is Shepard and her crew.
Dr. Mcloud turns with a mad laugh "You are too late. now die before my creation." he presses a button.
The tank that holds me slides open the liquid flows out and I step out.
Shepard pov
As the mad scientist turns laughing at us I see the tank open and out strides a human male. Every instinct is telling me that being is not normal and will be the toughest fight of my life. Garrus stiffens into a battle-ready stance, and even Wrex tightens his grip on his gun. For a thousand-year-old battle krogan to be wary of this male is worrisome.
"Kill them I0 and get me out of here." the scientist states.
As we stand there all staring at him he looks at each of us in turn with a calm powerful gaze. Then he looks at the scientist and smiles with a predatory look.
I0 pov
As I look upon Shepard and crew I can barely contain my joy at meeting them. I look at Dr. Mcloud smiling now I get my chance.
"I told you to kill them stop just standing there and do it." He states
"No, I don't think I will." I calmly reply "You have no power here."
"If you won't kill them willing then I will force you." He presses a button trying to use my control chip. A look of disbelief filled his face as I look at him with a smug smile.
"No power here" I state then flaring my biotics and snapping his neck. I turn to the other 3 in the room staring at them. Now how is this going to go down will they fight me or talk?
