Chapter 28: Trial of Lake Skating

Time was running out. Air was escaping his lungs. He was under attack. And death was approaching his doorstep. Montez had been under the water for far too long. He fought off the zombie as much as he could, pushing the cannibal away and kicking him off his body. He never stopped fighting to make it back to the surface, but he just did not have enough fight left him. The undead beast would not allow his prey to escape. Every single motion the agent made depleted his energy. After a while, it seemed like his demise was written in stone. Whether he was going to drown first, or devoured by the demon, the ingenious secret agent made his final thesis; his life was about to end. Or so he thought.
