5 Chapter 5 - Journey

He watched the next several decades played out in front of him like a movie. The battles he fought, the mistakes he made and the lessons he learned as he grew stronger and stronger each time. His power growing and becoming more refined and efficient with each challenge he overcome. He had learned that the world he now lived in was different from the one he had memories of from the games and books.

He had found records stating that Revan had not gone to fight the emperor with Meetra Surik after he was freed. No instead he had opted to study and find ways to weaken the sith gradually over time while Surik focused on training the next generation of Jedi. He also uncovered a hidden message in the holocrons that told him the pair alongside Revan's wife, Bastila Shan, had encased themselves in carbonite hoping that when the emperor returned that their descendants would be ready for that battle and could awaken them.

Revelation in hand Mikael set out to find the forgotten masters. He followed clues to ruins before then discovering that the trio had already been found and would soon be sold to the empire. He tracked down the seller to Nar Shaddaa where he then recovered and released the master just in time to come face to face with the Sith Lord Darth Malgus. Forced to fight in order to buy the masters time to regain their bearing, Mikael clashed with Malgus.

Their battle tore apart buildings as Mikael was forced to use the surrounding city scapes to contend with the sith's incredible strength and ferocity. As he fought he felt the presence of Revan connecting to his mind with his wife's help. Through Bastila's battle meditation Revan and soon Surik began to instructed him, helping to correct mistakes and flaws in his education. Mikael grew more precise and efficient as the battle went on, redirecting Malgus' monstrous strength away harmlessly. The sith was turned into an unwilling whetstone for Mikael's training. As the masters recovered, they watched as Mikael absorbed their instructions like a sponge.

For what seemed like hours Mikael remained locked in combat with the sith as red and violet lightsabers lit up the dark skies, until in one swift motion Mikael side stepped an incoming thrust as he grabbed the sith's wrist with his free left hand pulling Malgus and his lightsaber forward and off balance. Mikael pressed his shoulder to Malgus as he spun along his flank until they were back to back and then before the sith could respond Mikael flipped his lightsaber into a reverse grip and stabbed behind him. The violet blade erupted from Malgus' armored torso as he looked down in disbelief before releasing an unwilling roar of pain and rage before he collapsed to his knees. His hand struggled to reach out as though was grasping for something unseen before finally his head slumped down towards his chest unmoving.

The four then left the planet and returned to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and there Mikael took every chance to learn everything the trio of masters had to teach. He began delving into ancient rituals Revan or Surik discovered, learning skills that had been forgotten or lost from the archives as well as those deemed as those of the dark side. He found himself possessing an unusual affinity for force lightning, a trait he attributed to lightning strike that brought him here. And eventually during his studies Mikael discovered rumors of a spirit binding relic left from the old Je'Daii order.

He tracked down the rumor to the planet Tython where he encountered Satele having discovered an old temple that would soon become one of the Jedi's strongholds. After meditating he was led to the dark moon Bogan where he uncovered an ancient holocron designed to sever a spirit from the force upon death. He learned it was originally created by a vengeful darksider that wanted to prevent his rival from becoming one with the force and instead be erased forever upon his death.

Mikael had found his ultimate weapon against the body hopping emperor. During the next several decades in between his training with the three masters, Mikael ventured out to various locations that were saturated with the power of the force as he strengthen the holocron all while striking out at the empire. Then once the empire was beginning to fall apart after the numerous assassinations he carried out against their key military leaders and several dark council members, Mikael put his plan into action. Using the knowledge he had from his past he buried the artifact on the planet Ziost and then he gathered his allies and he led the assault on the Dark Temple on Dromund Kass alongside Revan and Surik as Satele and Bastila rallied the republics forces against the imperial capital.

Mikael and his strike team found themselves facing a small host of Sith Lords and their acolytes as they tore a path into the deepest chamber of the temple. The glow of lightsabers lit up the approach as rubble flew to and fro as bodies were flung about in various states of dismemberment. The sky suffused with the combined power formed dark clouds over the region as their battle was covered in torrential rain. Lightning arced along both ground and sky as the trio battled their way through to the temple.

Inside the team tore through the remaining guards as they collapsed parts of the ceiling on groups of enemies before unleashing a torrent of lightning through the ranks of sith. Screams of agony rang out in the halls, some sith dropped to the ground convulsing as their life was torn away while the weaker ones among them were simply turned to ash and dust with little more than a brief shout. They came upon a large door as together they blasted the doors apart. Shards of twisted metal shot inward as they pierced in the wall on the far side of the now open room. There upon a dark throne sat a hooded figure that seemed as they didn't even notice the lethal shards fly by their body. It was only after the trio stepped into the room that the figure raised their head revealing burning yellow eyes.

{A/N: I've rewritten this chapter several times. I had considered actually detailing the important encounters and interactions but then realized that it would extend the flashback by several more chapters. But I couldn't really quite get it in a way I was happy with with extending the flashback section by at like five more chapters at least. Maybe I'll do small flashbacks of certain fights through the decades when it relates to a problem he faces in the marvel universe.

Also had to work out how to change the original old republic story with his presence, which events would be avoided altogether by his involvement and which ones were accelerated. I also made a small change in chapter one, the first voice that spoke to him is now Revan instead of Arcann. After thinking about the progression of things I figured Mikael would likely have more of a connection to Revan than Arcann.

Lastly in case someone else brings it up. The marvel universe he's in is based on the mcu with elements of other marvel movies that aren't officially part of that canon and maybe some things from the comics.

Anyway enjoy.

Oh btw is anyone else having issues with seeing and writing paragraph comments on the app? Cause I am. I can read paragraph comments in my notifications section but not on the actual chapters themselves both for my own work as well as other peoples.}
