25 Chapter 25 - More People, More Problems

Mikael stepped out of the plane into the hanger with the still unconscious form of Logan floating in the air behind him. The rest of the group stepped out after him as they walked towards Charles, who was waiting in the distance now joined by two young men. One was an older man with blonde hair and blue eyes who had his hand on the shoulder of the younger brown haired one who had bandages wrapped around his head covering his eyes. Mikael quickly pieced their identities together as he stopped in front of Charles.

"These were the only ones alive to be rescued." Mikael told him as he looked back at the three young teens staring at their new surroundings.

"So what now? Are you going to go find him?" Xavier asked as he looked over the dirty and malnourished kids.

"No, they need rest. Besides they should decide for themselves if they want to fight. And if they do, they'll need at least a bit of training." Mikael answered before looking towards the two brothers standing at the side. "So who are you?"

"I'm Alex and this is Scott. You're Mikael Argent right? I saw your expo on tv." The older one replied as he patted his brother on the shoulder. "I went to get Scott so the professor could try to help him."

"What's wrong with him? Something wrong with his eyes?" Mikael asked as he pretended to know nothing about their situation.

"Well he can fire beams of energy from his eye. But he hasn't been able to control his powers ever since that accident. Now he can't stop it." Alex answered as Scott turned his head towards the ground.

"Well I can probably figure something out for him. Just give us a moment to get everyone situated." Mikael told him before turning back to the professor. "Do you have a room I borrow down here? Something durable and secure."

"I do, there's a couple rooms we haven't equipped yet. Might I ask why?" Xavier asked as he started to turn his wheelchair around before heading towards the door while Jean and Raven ushered the teens to follow them as Hank stayed back to check on the plane.

"This one here has been mentally conditioned into a mindless killer and I plan to undo it." Mikael answered as he followed Xavier down the hall before he stopped in front of a metallic bulkhead. Xavier pressed a button on the wall as the door opened to reveal a large empty circular room.

"Do you need my help with this?" Xavier asked.

"No I can handle it. You should get the others situated and tell them what's going on." Mikael said as he stepped into the room, Logan's body drifting through the air after him. "Oh Scott, I'll take a look at your problem after I'm done here. Shouldn't take too long."

Mikael pressed another button on the inside as the door closed between them. He turned around and lowered Logan to the ground as he kneeled by his head. Mikael placed a hand on Logan's forehead as he peered into his mind. Rage and anger was the first thing Mikael felt as he dived into the depths of Logan's mind before he saw fragments of memories like shattered glass. Mikael slowly reached out as the pieces slowly began to come together.

One by one the memories were restored and one by one Mikael watched them. He saw from Logan's eyes as he found the brutalized body of his first love Silverfox. He watched as he was brainwashed by a man that called himself Romulus and forced to slaughter the town he lived in. He saw his time with Ogun, the man Logan viewed as his teacher and father figure. He witnessed the peaceful life with his wife Itsu before it was torn away from him when he found her corpse, her once pregnant belly ripped open and empty. He saw the moment Logan joined the Weapon X program only to be experimented on and turned into a mindless monster with adamantium bones. He watched as Logan was unleashed on the town of Roanoke as well as the countless assassinations he carried out under their control. Nearly two decades he spent as a mindless killing machine, forced to carry out missions before being subjected to the torturous process they used to scramble his memories before locking him inside the same metal coffin again and again.

Mikael soon pieced the last memory back together as he stood to his feet and walked to one side of the room. Logan's body began to tremble on the floor before it turned to violent thrashing. He roared out in rage and pain as he relived all of his life's memories in a matter of seconds. He rolled over and onto his hands and knees as he slammed his fists into the ground over and over. His flesh split open revealing the metallic bones beneath before healing shut only to be torn open again as he slammed the floor repeatedly. Mikael stood in silence as he watched tears well up in Logan's eyes before they covered up by the blood pouring from his forehead as he slammed his head on the cold hard floor. His loud roars slowly started to die down as they were replaced with ragged breathing before eventually it turned into a slow cadence.

Mikael closed his eyes as he took a deep breath. Logan jumped to his feet as he heard breathing, his eyes, filled with suppression pain and rage immediately trained on Mikael's form leaning against the wall. With a roar he lunged through the air towards, his claws extending from his hands as he swiped towards Mikael. His claws tore through the air as they cut into the wall. Logan's bloodshot eyes widened as Mikael was nowhere in view.

"I'm not your enemy." A voice rang out behind Logan as he quick spun around to see Mikael standing where he just was. With a shout Logan rushed forward swinging his claws as Mikael shifted his body with minor movements as each swing passed harmlessly through the air. Logan lunged forward as Mikael bent backwards underneath his attack. Logan rolled on the ground before before he dragged his claws across the ground stopping his momentum.

His head snapped back up to look at Mikael's back. He charged forward again as he stabbed at the exposed back only to have Mikael turn and grab his wrist before throwing him against the door without even looking in his direction. Logan grunted as he back impacted with the wall before he fell to the floor. Mikael turned his head towards Logan, his face calm as he spoke.

"Have you gotten it out of your system yet?" Mikael asked as Logan stood to his feet and growled.

"If you want to keep going, I can do this all day." He added crossing his arms before he continued. "Or we talk like civilized people."

"Who are you?" Logan growled as he strafed around Mikael. His eyes trained on Mikael watching for any sudden movements.

"I'm the one that put your mind back together." Mikael answered calmly.

"What do you want from me?" Logan asked his muscles still tensed and ready to explode.

"To give you an opportunity."

"You don't have anything I want bub." Logan said as he retracted his claws before turning towards the door behind him.

"You want revenge don't you? What's your plan after walking out that door? How are you going to find them?" Mikael asked causing Logan to stop as he reached for the button to the door. "You have nothing. No information, no resources. How will you get to them if they're not in the country?"

"What do you want?" Logan asked as he turned back around to look at him.

"Like I said. I want to give you an opportunity. Join me and all of my growing resources and network will be made available to you." Mikael answered as he took a step forward.

"I've heard this before. How do I know you're not plotting against me?"

"Because Logan, I don't need to plot against you. If I wanted to harm you or get rid of you I could've just throw you into space and let you drift towards the sun." Mikael replied as he stretched out his hand. "Help me make it so that those with powers are finally seen as people instead of expendable tools to be used and thrown aside. Help me change the world for the better and you have my word. You will have your vengeance. All I ask from you is trust."

Logan stood in silence as he looked at his hands. He balled up his fists as his claws extended from his hands revealing to him his reflection. He closed his eyes for a moment before his claws retracted once more and he looked up to meet Mikael's gaze, it seemed calm, peaceful even yet his instincts could feel the raging storm, the power hidden within its depths. Logan stepped forward as he grasped Mikael's hand.

"Don't make me regret this." Logan growled before he released his hand.

"You won't, I can guarantee it. Now let's get you dressed and introduce you to the others." Mikael said with a smile as he led Logan out the door and into the halls. He found a pair of white drawstring pants and a plain white shirt in one of the supply boxes filled with medical supplies that had yet to be unloaded and threw it to Logan before leading him up into the mansion. The pair soon found themselves walking into Xavier's office as the rest of the group was seated around the room.

"So do they understand the situation yet?" Mikael asked as he walked in.

"I've explained the situation to them." Xavier answered as he watched Mikael sit himself right on the edge of his desk facing the rest of the group.

"Great! First off this here is Logan. Say hi Logan."Mikael said drawing a grunt from the short statured man.

"So anyways, does anyone not want to help stop the Apocalypse?" Mikael asked with a smile as the group exchanged looks among themselves.

"Great, then Xavier I'll leave their lodging to you. Scott, I'll be by tomorrow with my equipment to take a look at your problem. For you should all get some rest." Mikael said as he stood up and walked out the room. The next morning Mikael returned with a large box of equipment that he unloaded from a truck and an hour later he stood in front of Scott as he was laying on an examination table. Mikael looked at the holographic display in front of him showing the condition of Scott's body.

"Okay so do you want good news or bad news?" Mikael asked the young man.

"Um I guess I want the-" Scott started to answer before he was cut off.

"You know what it doesn't matter. I know how your power works and I can resolve your issue."

"Why wouldn't you just say that instead?" Scott asked loudly as Mikael shrugged disregarding the fact that Scott still had bandages over his eyes.

"Anyway, the good news is that you're in perfect physical health aside and any injuries you had from your accident have fully healed. And also I know what the issue is and I can fix it." Mikael continued ignoring the outburst.

"Then what's the bad news?" Scott asked as she sat up on the table still visibly annoyed at Mikael's nonchalance.

"The bad news is that there are mental blocks in your mind. And that some of them were purposefully put there." Mikael told him before he started to question him. "Where were you before this?"

"An orphanage in Nebraska." Scott answered in a huff.

"Did anything happen at that orphanage? Anything not normal?"

"Yeah the owner, Mr. Milbury kept testing and drawing blood from me. I got sick and tired of it so I ran and stowed away on a freight train that took me to Pennsylvania before I lost complete control of my powers." Scott answered his attitude changing drastically as he recalled his past. "I almost killed a crowd of people when it happened. It was only because Alex showed up that they didn't die."

"Well I'll have to pay this orphanage a visit at some point. Anyway here's what I can do. I can remove the blocks from your mind but only the ones that were placed there by whoever did it. The rest is up to you to resolve so I advise finding someone to talk to about your uh…feelings." Mikael paused after that suggestion before continuing. "Now the other thing is I can make something for you to be able to see and temporarily control your powers. You COULD use them forever but I wouldn't recommend it."

"Can you really do that?" Scott asked as he straightened up on the table.

"You do know who I am right?" Mikael asked in a flat voice as he walked over to the door.

"Right, Argent Tech." Scott answered as he got off the table and on his feet. Mikael then opened the door and blindly grabbed around the corner before dragging Alex into the room.

"You take care of your brother. I'm gonna go make his things." Mikael told him as he walked out the room as he thought to himself.

'Apocalypse, now Romulus and Sinister. Well at least I have something to do till Stark comes back.'
