Chapter 2 : When All Seem Lost To War, Green's Light will Burn them Bright!

(3rd pov)

2 minutes before Edward Eric oath, the supposed protagonists group finally arrived for the battle currently unfolding in Manhattan.

Spotting the damaged Stark Tower after getting out of the quinjet, Captain America start to run towards it with two super spies following up closely.

"We have to go up there." State the Captain to Black Widow and Hawkeye as they eyed the giant portal above the tower.

But just as they start to run to their goal with great determination, they quickly stopped in their tracks as they saw a giant flying mechanical monster as big as the building around, coming to their way from the portal.

"Stark, are you seeing this?" Asked Steve shocked through the comms.

"Seeing. Still, working on believing." Replied calmly Tony Stark while internally, as he followed the giant leviathan, his heart was in turmoil.

When they learned that an alien invasion was going to happen, they thought they were ready to face whatever was coming their way. But after seeing that Leviathan flying freely above Manhattan, while still sprouting Chitauris out of his body, the newly created Avengers team just realized how wrong they were.

"Where's Banner? Still not here?" Asked Tony still tailing the mechanical monster in his flying armor.

"Banner? We don't even know if he knows where's the party." Replied Natasha as she suddenly regret not having the big green monster with them.

Seeing the Leviathan getting dangerously close to the trio on the ground, they all prepared for their almost certain death as Stark desperately look for it weakness.

But the attack never came. Because suddenly, without any explanation, the Leviathan turn his head and rush toward another location with more than fifty other Chitauris leading the way ahead.

"That... Not that I want to become foods for a giant cyborg flying fish, but why it didn't attack us?" Asked Hawkeye as he take down the Chitauris who didn't follow the pack with his arrows.

Tony Stark who was in the air, look at the direction all those Chitauris were going to, and spot two people standing around dozens of Chitauris corpses.

One of them, a Woman in a red, gold and blue suit, looking like the urban version of a female Captain America, send a punch through her last Chitauris, ending its live.

But what shocked Ironman wasn't the punch, but the power behind it. That punch was so powerful, that even after the Chitauri was thrown towards a bus because of that hit, the bus itself bent under the aftershock.

"I think I found the reason. Captain you wouldn't happen to have a sister stronger than you and with more fashion sense than you, right?"

"What? Stark, what's going on?" Asked a confused Steve Roger before darting toward where the Chitauri went with Hawkeye And Black Widow.

"There are two superpower individuals down there. And while the girl can clearly take care of herself, but our little Han Solo there clearly wouldn't be able to hold on for long." Of course, while commenting, Stark wasn't just going to stand here and do nothing.

But just as he was going to accelerate, he forced himself to stop as something happen.

"Wait, The boy's doing something." That was the only thing Tony was able so say before his world start to dye in green.

The green Ring, the boy, was using as some kind of laser gun was emitting green lights from time to time, but it was very dim.

That was, until the boy start to talk. In a matter of micro seconds that light start shine so brightly, that Tony even had the feeling that the surrounding itself turned green.

As for the Captain and his companions, who were outside the range of green light. they watch in wonder as the beam of green light start to concentrate itself to form some kind of big green dome.

"What is that?" Asked a newly arrived Thor after seeing the not so subtle green light. But unfortunately for him, none of them had the answer.

And Natasha who just remembered that Tony was inside was inside the dome, became worried about him. But just as she was about to speak, they start to hear a voice coming from that dome, that was getting louder as the dome brighten.

"Beware My Power"

"Green Lantern's LIGHT!"

As the last word resonate in the world, the dome suddenly became bigger and swallow a third of Manhattan in a blink of an eye. Blinding anyone inside and outside with dazzling green light.

That dome only appeared for a few seconds before disappearing, but during the time it appears, something shocking happened. All Chitauris inside that dome suddenly died.

Even though their whole body were fine, but they still died. It was as if someone suddenly forced out their soul of their bodies, resulting in their death. As for what really happen, who knows?

But for Loki who watched as only one fifth of the Chitauris remain on earth, this was a question that he will need an answer to. Right now. So without a second thought he order an other Leviathan to attack them again to test the water.

As a new Leviathan and Chitauris flew out the portal in detection of the Avengers and the center of the commotion, the latters finally get to face the one who dyed in green one third of Manhattan for a few seconds.

'He's...Young?!'

Were the first thought of the Captain after looking at the late teenager in a black and green suit. Even though he had a mask covering half of his face, but it couldn't hide away the fact that he didn't look older than 18.

"Oh, great. The Cavalry is here. Too bad the bad guys are dead huh? What happened? Traffic jam?" Asked suddenly a woman in a superhero suit as she float in front of the boy in an aggressive manner while mocking the late coming Avengers.

And while Steve and Tony were feeling guilty in hearing that, Thor on the contrary wasn't very pleased.

"Midgard warrior. As it's seems like your first glorious war and and that you've been fighting with bravery, I will overlooked what you just said. But know this woman warrior, in war people dies. And when you and your young friend here put up your armor to fight, you should have been prepared for that. Secondly and remember it well. Thor and his companions are never late in a battle!"

Upon his comment, the woman looked at her attire and the boy's, before turning back to Thor clearly wanting to exprime something very unfriendly. But before she could, suddenly, in this empty street, a motorcycle could be seen driving toward them. On it, a man with clothes bigger than himself adopting a nonchalant attitude of all the ongoing destructions.

As he stepped out of his motorcycle all eye focused on him.

"Am I late? Because it seems like arrive when it's over." He said with some embarrassments.

With her hand on her hips and a smirk on her face, the woman looked at the now embarrassed Thor with a teasing look.

"I met him today." Justify Thor as he look at the clueless Bruce Banner with the wrong eyes.

"Yeah, right..." Replied the woman with a teasing smile.

"Well kids, not that I don't want to watch you flirting, but we have some uninvited gest incoming." Shout out Ironman in the air.

Following his sight, the heroes saw more than two hundred Chitauris coming their way with a Leviathan as vanguard this time.

"Hey, little elf. I think we'll need a new round of Expecto Patronum here." Remarks Tony as he point to the incoming army.

"Sorry, but that was a one time kind of thing until I have more Willpower." Replied the boy with a shrug.

None of them really understood what he talking about, but at least understood that he couldn't do his green dome attack again.

Seeing that the first option was off, Captain America focused on Bruce Banner.

"Doctor Banner, I think that now may be a really good time to get angry."

At that, Bruce smile as he step forward alone to face the Leviathan. He then turn back his head and said.

"That's my secret Captain, I'm always angry."

Following those words and under the incredulous eyes of the snarky female, Banner suddenly transform into a 3 meters giant green man.

The latter immediately punch the giant mechanical monster on his head. Stopping directly it momentum while killing on the way.

BAMM

But because of it previous momentum, the tail of the monster rise in the air, threatening to crushed them into pastas.

Seeing this, the woman was going to take action, but Tony overtake her in it.

"Brace yourself!" He said simply before shooting a missile toward the flesh part of the Leviathan.

Anticipating the incoming explosion, the boy flew above their head and erect a green translucent barrier around them. Perfectly protecting them from the explosion.

BOOM

After the explosion subside the young teenager removed the barrier, but wasn't happy at all. Because in front of them stood 200 Chitauris wanting their bloods.

Without any hesitation, the boy look down to call out his friend while pointing his Ring at her:

"Wonder Woman!"

Bzzz

Seeing the incoming green laser, the latter cross her hands above her head, seemingly to protect herself. But before the laser actually touch her, the golden bracelets on her arms start to greedily absorb the laser until the boy stop.

"Well, my turn I guess then." She said lazily as got near the Hulk before hitting her now green glowing bracelets one against the other while facing the Chitauri army.

DIIIIING

The impact created a giant green colored shockwave running forward with great momentum. Upon its contact, the Chitauris and surrounding objects were seen shred to pieces. Everywhere the wave goes, nothing remained intact.

A silence followed as none of the people present had forseen that such power could be created from only a Ring and two bracelets. Not even their owners.

"...When you told me that I could create shockwaves to repel the bad guys, I didn't thought that by repelling you mean exterminate them! What kind of bullsh*t bracelets did you create?"

Complained casually Wonder Woman after calming down, while in fact she actually had a big grin on her face.

But her comment actually shocked her new comrades.

"Little Dwarf, you really build those things?" Asked Tony Stark impressed.

"Yes, I did create those. But stop calling me with weird names, call me Green Lantern." Replied the teenager clearly annoyed by the weird moniker Tony was giving to him.

While the superheroes were taking a breath while introducing themselves to each other, in the other side of Manhattan, Loki watched everything that happen with a calmer face than earlier.

'That green boy can't seem to to use with weird sphere attack. In that case...'

"Send the rest."

Following his words four Leviathans came out one after the other through the portals with even more Chitauris soldiers than before. With a war cries, more than half headed in the direction of the Avengers while the remaining just search for other humains to kill.
