61 Wenwu’s War Path -59

[Ding! Congratulations to Host for the successful containment of SCP-2430! Rewards are being given out!]

Alex had his workflow interrupted by another system notification. This time, it was, thankfully, a good one.

"They sure work fast." He muttered, impressed with the Foundation's efficiency. It had only been mere hours since the immortal clone of Adolf Hitler started running around, and he had already been placed in containment.

'With this kind of speed, he must have appeared somewhere very public and close to some Foundation agents.'

[Ding! Congratulations to Host for getting the trait shapeshifting: Adolf Hitler]

Alex couldn't help but feel like these rewards were weighted towards making him into some shapeshifter. First, he had gotten SCP 113, then the ability to turn into a child, and now this? It just didn't feel entirely random anymore.

Closing his eyes, he felt deep within himself, finding and feeling the new trait. He tested the new reward rather than asking the system, knowing that it would probably give him incomplete information anyway.

The change itself wasn't noticeable, and he didn't feel any different. However, when he looked to the side into the semi-reflective surface of the bunker, what looked back at him was very clearly the face of Adolf Hitler, mustache and all.

Standing up, stretching, and moving about his body, he didn't feel anything different. Certainly not how he had expected to feel in a much older form. While he grew much weaker in his childlike form. Here, nothing seemed to change.

It wasn't too bad of a reward; the ability to shapeshift was a pretty strong one. More so for someone like himself who had a role more towards the likes of Nick Fury than any Marvel hero. Yet, the ability to only turn into Hitler was troublesome.

After all, he wasn't the most infamous person in history for nothing. Going out wearing the face of Hitler would draw more attention than going out looking like himself, even with his face in the news due to his reported death.

There really weren't that many good places to use this ability. Even Hydra wasn't loyal to Hitler but to Redskull instead. So even there, it wouldn't do him much good.

There was just one plan he could think of where it would come in handy. He had originally planned on using SCP-2430 for that, but now he could take a more personal stake in that plan.

"Still, I'm curious; where did they find him…" Alex whispered to himself as he changed back and looked up the mission report.

Foundation Mission Report: SCP-2430 Recontainment Operation

Mission Objective: Immediate recontainment of SCP-2430, designated "The Immortal Hitler Clone," following unauthorized manifestation in Berlin.

Operational Brief:

Following the events of the unexpected CK class reconfiguration event, SCP-2430 manifested in central Berlin, causing significant public attention and a potential breach of the Foundation's secrecy protocols.

Initial surveillance indicated SCP-2430's non-hostile engagement with the public, utilizing its appearance to garner attention. Immediate deployment of a specialized containment team was authorized to mitigate public exposure and return SCP-2430 to Foundation custody.

Team Composition:

- Commander Graff (Team Leader): Experienced in anomalous entity recontainment, particularly those requiring delicate public interaction.

- Agent Bauer (Containment Specialist): Expert in rapid deployment containment strategies for humanoid entities.

- Agent Weiss (Psychological Operations): Tasked with crowd control and minimization of public panic or interest.

- Liaison Schmidt (Berlin Police Coordinator): Responsible for coordinating with local law enforcement to facilitate a smooth operation and cover story.

Equipment:

- Civilian attire to blend with the local population

- Standard Foundation containment gear adapted for discreet operation

- Mobile containment unit designed for immediate transport of humanoid SCPs

- Communication devices linked directly to Foundation command and local law enforcement

Mission Execution:

1445 Hours: The team assembles and deploys under the guise of a film production crew, leveraging the public's assumption of SCP-2430's appearance as a publicity stunt. Liaison Schmidt confirms cooperation from Berlin police, attributing the operation to a public safety exercise.

1500 Hours: Commander Graff and Agent Bauer approach SCP-2430, blending with the crowd. Agent Weiss initiates a subtle psychological operation, dispersing the crowd under the pretense of a scheduled film scene requiring clearance.

1515 Hours: With the crowd's attention diverted, Agent Bauer engages SCP-2430, employing non-threatening communication to encourage voluntary compliance. SCP-2430, recognizing the futility of resistance and potentially leveraging the situation for future advantage, complies without incident.

1520 Hours: SCP-2430 is escorted to the mobile containment unit. Agent Weiss maintains crowd control, propagating the narrative of a successful film shoot wrap-up. Liaison Schmidt oversees local law enforcement's dispersal of onlookers and ensures no unauthorized recordings persist.

1530 Hours: SCP-2430 securely transported back to Site-602. Commander Graff confirms no breach of operational secrecy and minimal public disturbance. Liaison Schmidt facilitates the release of a cover story through local media channels, attributing the event to an elaborate performance art piece promoting historical awareness.

Debriefing:

The mission was executed with exemplary precision, achieving the recontainment of SCP-2430 with minimal public exposure and no compromise to the Foundation's secrecy. The team's ability to adapt to the unique challenges presented by SCP-2430's manifestation in a densely populated urban area was commendable.

Although attempts made to prevent the spread of information, news, and recordings of SCP-2430 had been spread on the internet, the cover story has been successfully deployed, and the impact of the incident is expected to be minor.

Further Actions:

- Interview of SCP-2430 about the event surrounding his manifestation and his time away from containment.

- Assessment of public reaction and any lingering effects of SCP-2430's brief appearance. Implementation of amnestic protocols where necessary.

- Submission of a detailed report to the Ethics Committee regarding SCP-2430's request for increased communication privileges, taking into consideration the potential risks and benefits of such an allowance.

-----------------

Reading that, Alex couldn't help but shake his head at the unlikely scenario that seemed to come right out of a movie.

Though reading that he had apparently made a request to have the Ethics Committee review his case was interesting. There currently wasn't an Ethics Committee around, so he could freely read the request himself.

Which he promptly did!

'Hmmm, wants greater freedom now due to having had a small taste of it due to Foundation failure? Guess it isn't the worst argument.' Alex thought about the request, feeling that had the Committee been around they might allow it.

Yet without them around, the decision was up to him, and he did have something he could use 2430's help with. Should he fully cooperate, he couldn't see why he couldn't allow this small request.

While changing and refining his plans in his head, he started the procedure to have him transferred to SITE-19; for what he had planned, he needed to be close at Hand.

With this little distraction out of the way, Alex got back to the mountain of work ahead of him. Fully satisfied with the work of the Foundation agents out there.

----------------

Wenwu spotted the drawings of the new defense design he had made for one of his other strongholds. This one was secluded in the mountains, harder to reach, yet Li-er hadn't liked it. He was planning on moving his operations up there soon, but perhaps that wouldn't happen.

Discarding it, he instead put down the material his men had gotten their hands on about this Hydra organization and their operations in China and the surrounding area.

As Wenwu shifted through the labyrinth of intelligence reports and other covert operations linked to Hydra, a singular, piercing thought anchored all his focus: the insinuation from Ricci's information that Hydra might have been behind the death of his wife, Li-er.

He hadn't paid much attention to Hydra before this. To him, they had been nothing. He had other enemies worth his attention to focus on. Hydra was nothing compared to that one woman. Not to mention other people who would have been able to put up resistance.

Hydra had been less than nothing, yet clearly, they hadn't taken well to having their influence limited in China. From the reports he was reading, they looked to have been very displeased with that.

Perhaps displeased enough that they would try to take him down. Still, the way they went around it was strange. Hinting towards a different goal, or perhaps they had many. Their goal didn't really matter much.

After all, if they indeed had been responsible, then they would suffer his wrath like none had before.

He would ensure their destruction before resurrecting his beloved Ying Ying. She was always too kind; it was something he loved about her, yet here he wouldn't allow her kindness to stop him. Not to mention, his family would be safer with that rot gone from the world.

Wenwu's thoughts crystallized into a cold, hard resolve. The potential involvement of Hydra in Li-er's death was not just an attack on his family but a direct challenge to his dominion and authority.

The organization that had seemed so inconsequential in his vast empire of control suddenly became the focal point of his vengeance. Their underestimation of his reach and power would be their undoing.

He called for a meeting with his inner circle, the most trusted of his commanders and strategists. Wenwu laid out the information before them, the implications of Hydra's actions clear and the path forward unmistakable.

This meeting was not just about strategizing their next moves; it was a declaration of war against an enemy that had dared to strike at the heart of his world.

"In their arrogance, they have awakened a storm," Wenwu announced, his voice steady but filled with an undercurrent of fury. "They sought to weaken us, to challenge our strength. They will soon learn the true extent of their folly."

The plan was multifaceted, leveraging the Ten Rings' vast resources, both in the shadows and in the light. Wenwu's network of informants and spies would get him names and locations. Once he had that. He himself would take action.

He would show them why going after him had been such a bad idea as they destroyed him with his own hands. He would have his revenge, his family would have justice, and he would then have his family back, whole.

Once he had cleaned up China and flushed out their every bit of influence there, he would set his sights on Japan. Which was perfect since he knew that the Hand was still very active there. He would destroy Hydra and get the Hand to cough up not just their serum but also information about Hydra.

After all, his intel suggested that those two groups had been fighting for a while. There was no doubt that the Hand had plenty of information about their rival.

"Have some of our cells and operatives over in Europe look for the Guesthouse secret base." He said, throwing down a copy of the information gotten from Ricci about that place on the table.

"If you need help, reach out to Ricci; they know Europe better than anyone."

Wenwu's strategy was clear: dismantle Hydra's influence piece by piece, starting from China and then moving globally, with Japan and the conflict with the Hand as a pivotal next step. His decision to engage directly, to be at the forefront of this war, was a testament to the depth of his commitment to vengeance and justice. He was not just the leader of the Ten Rings; he was a man on a mission to right a profound wrong.

The meeting concluded with a palpable sense of urgency. Wenwu's commanders dispersed, each with their own assignments, all contributing to the larger goal of eradicating Hydra. The network of informants expanded their ears to the ground, gathering names, locations, and any shred of information that could lead them closer to their targets.

Following the meeting, Wenwu went to see his children. It still pained him to see Xialing; she looked so much like her mother. Yet, knowing that Li-er would soon be back, he knew that he needed to get his stuff together.
