75 Chapter 74: Law's Army Vs Apocalypse's Army (1)

The Sentinels started moving and engaged the mutants with lethal force. Gambit stayed close to Emma as unlike the Sentinels he had quite a weak defense and in a battle of such scale, one stray attack could cause his death. He used his kinetic power card explosions to cause chaos while hiding behind Emma's diamond form whenever someone targeted him.

"Hiding behind a woman? Do you have no shame, Remy?" Emma taunted Gambit who just mumbled that he supported woman empowerment and did not want to die because he found it embarrassing to hide behind a stronger woman.

Magneto tried to use his magnetic powers to control the sentinels but magical runes lit up on the sentinels that protected them from the magnetic effects.

The sentinels were mentally connected to each other and under the guidance of the sentinel with the mind-reading powers and Emma attacked the Mutants that harbored destructive thoughts towards humanity with lethal force while they tried to restrain those without such thoughts.

The Sentinels' limbs turned into energy weapons or cannons. One such sentinel with powers to control the flame turned his hand into a canon and compressed the flames to such a degree before shooting it in the form of a heat laser.

The laser killed several of the mutants within seconds before the Sentinel had to stop to cool down. The Sentinel with the powers of decay engaged with those mutants who had more physical powers like superstrengh and endurance. With just a touch of the Sentinel's robotic hand, the part of the mutant's body that he touched would start to decay making it easier for the other sentinels to finish the job.

The Juggernaut sentinel engaged with an enhanced Psylocke who was also one of the four horsemen. Even though enhanced, Psylocke could not cause much damage to the sentinel and was basically manhandled by the sentinel. The sentinel quickly incapacitated her. Law sent her to one of the prisons on his island base since he had confirmed that Psylocke was not a radical like Magneto and was a mercenary just like him.

It would be quite easy to recruit her into his mercenary group once she recovers. The juggernaut sentinel launched itself towards other mutants by slamming its body left, right, and center.

The Sentinel that had the power of turning in to wind and control wind engaged with an enhanced Angel and Pyro keeping them both at bay. The Sentinel was quite a bad matchup for both of them and was easily overpowering them.

But Pyro being a hotheaded one and being in a mind control decided it was better to go supernova and take both himself and the sentinel out of the equation. His body burst into flames engulfing both him and the sentinel in an explosion while Angel managed to back away in time.

Law could see the sentinel activate its magical barrier but it quickly broke apart. Though the barrier managed to mitigate some of the damage from the explosion. But still, all the runes on the sentinel got damaged and Angel took advantage of it releasing his steel sharp feathers and puncturing the sentinel.

Law grimaced at that and not willing to find more materials to make a new sentinel from the ground up quickly created a portal below the damaged Sentinel and dumped it back in his research lab.

'Oof, More work for me. It would be such a pain to repair that.' Law thought as he viewed all the killing going on around him.

Some might call Law a murder hobo but Law felt all these radical mutants had already been given the chance to turn a new leaf but they all chose to join Magneto in his cause for Mutant supremacy. Their independent thoughts were of living a lavish life and having 'humans' as their slaves.

He knew Charles and other X-men would be questioning him for killing so many mutants. They would say that he could have saved them after he had dealt with Apocalypse. But then he could tell them that Apocalypse was too strong of an opponent even for him which was not entirely a lie.

Law did not just kill these mutants because of them becoming a future problem but all because they would cause him trouble during his fight with Apocolypse of left alone.

Apocalypse was a very powerful opponent. In the movies, all the mutants from both X-Men and Brotherhood could not do much harm to him and were easily crushed by hum. The only reason the X-men were able to defeat and kill him was because of the cosmic entity Phoenix that resided inside Jean. In the comics, Apocolypse was an unkillable god. Law just hoped that it was the movie version of Apocalypse and not the comic one.

There was no way Law could fight Apocolypse with so many hostile Mutants out there so he had to get done with them first and put them out of the equation.

Besides, Since he has brought both Emma and Gambit with him, he had to keep their security in mind too.

Apocalypse was so far just watching the battle play on. He looked quite fascinated by Sentinels but equally angry when one of his mind-controlled mutants died.

After seeing that his army was getting decimated, Apocalypse gave Law a death stare.

'I hope he gives me some challenge. That way, at least my templates would at least progress much faster in the heat of the battle.' Law thought hoping that his templates which progressed at a snail's pace would at least gain a few percentages in this battle.
