17 Chapter 17: Recruiting Emma Frost

Law also had a massive headache about his hero identity of black mask as well as the identity of Death Surgeon. No one has realised that both Death Surgeon and Black Mask are the same yet. Although there are rumours that both of them wore the same clothing and are one and the same, but nothing had been confirmed.

He decided to change the clothing of his Death Surgeon persona a little. The clothing would be similar to Urahara i.e. a baggy black jacket with white diamond patterns at the bottom, a green shirt, a baggy pair of pants, traditional wooden sandals, striped fisherman's hat, a hand fan and a cane which will be Benehime. He would be using a white mask to keep his identity safe.

Black Mask would keep the city safe and will be known as the city's hero. He wouldn't kill people and stay away from the radar of Police. Although it was too late to stay off the radar of S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra.

While Death Surgeon would be the persona for his mercenary identity, miracle doctor and the vigilante that kills unlike blackmask.

This way he would also be able to use both of his templates. He would mostly use Trafalgar Law's template when he is Black Mask and both the templates when he is Death Surgeon.

This didn't mean he would limit himself to just one template whenever he is in a persona. He would use the abilities of the different template if required.

After figuring out all this, he decided to go and recruit Emma Frost first tomorrow as it was also the weekend and that meant no school.

Law took a flight to Las Vegas the next day. After interrogating some thugs he managed to get some information about where Vincent Lavecchia operated from. He was dressed in his death surgeon uniform.

He used his observation haki to search for Emma as she would have a stronger presence than most. He found the presence of Emma and looks like she sensed him too as her head turned towards his direction.

'Hmm, Telepaths can sense it if I am using observation haki. I should keep note of this fact.'

Law felt a slight tap on his mind and realised that it was Emma trying to establish a telepathy connection with him.

One major advantage of having shinigami powers is that your mind can't be read. The mind is protected by a dense barrier of Reiatsu.Once I learned how to manipulate Reiatsu, the first thing I did was learn how to create a mind barrier with it. Without this, I wouldn't have dared to come near a telepath. I didn't want my secrets to be discovered easily

Law let the connection establish.

'Who are you?Why do you feel so different? Why can't I read your mind?Why are you here?' Law heard a panicked woman's voice in his head

'Slow down Emma. I will answer all your questions.'

'You can call me Law or Death Surgeon for now. As for why I feel different is because I have powers just like you Emma. You can not read my mind is because my powers protect my mind so that no one can read it. I am here to get you out of this place Emma.'

'Did my father send you? But I don't want to go back to him. My life is better here.' Emma said scared

'No Emma, I am not going to take you to your abusive father who sold you as a slave. And are you sure your life is better here? You are being treated as a slave and a tool here too Emma. I am here to ask you whether you want to come with me and let me help you to achieve your dreams that you once had as a child.' Law told her reassuringly

'My dreams?' Emma questioned herself

'What did you dream to do when you were a child Emma?' Law asked her

'I wanted to create my own business empire.'

'And that's what we are going to do. So do you want to leave this hellhole where you are just being treated as a tool and be a part of something big and accomplish your dreams?'

'Okay but how are you going to take me out of this place? There are many armed men here.' She asked concerned.

'You don't have to worry about that Emma.'

After that Law with a cane (Benihime) in his hand strolled through the entrance of the house of mafia boss Vincent Lavecchia.

The guards looked at the strangely dressed man with a white mask covering his face and said "State your identity and purpose for coming here."

Law didn't answer their questions as he used Shunpō and in a burst of speed knocked both of the guards before they could do anything.

He jumped through the main gate and continue to knock the guards out.

One of the guards groaned in pain but manages to crawl towards a hidden button on the wall. He presses it, triggering an alarm that echoes throughout the mansion.

'Sloppy work out there law, always confirm if the enemy is knocked out unconscious or not.' Law told himself

The guards in the mansion became alerted as they came to the balcony to see what's happening.

They saw a strangely dressed man attacking their fellow guards and they decided to open fire on him.

Law dodged all the bullets with extreme ease as he pointed his finger towards the guards on the balcony.

'Hadō # 1. Shō '

A small amount of energy is dispelled from the tip of his index finger hitting the guards one by one and knocking them out.

After knocking all the guards out, he went towards the direction of Emma's room.

Vincent was alerted about all of this and went to Emma's room thinking that with her powers she could protect him from whoever that was attacking his mansion.
