Chapter 3: Monkey D. Garp

After Enes killed the tiger he spent the rest of the day hulling it out of the forest back to the beach so he could try and eat it.

And after much trial and error, he finally managed to start a fire by banging his shield against rocks he found nearby.

But he still couldn't eat the whole thing so he decided to cut off slices using a sharp rock he found and just throw the rest into the sea for the sea kings.

'Never knew tiger meat tasted like beef although it could use some seasoning.'

By the time he finished eating what was left it was already becoming the next day and the sun was starting to rise over the sea.

Enes sat there in front of blazing fire thinking about what he should do next.

After he finished thinking he came to an agreement in his head.

He sat up from the ground and put out the fire by kicking it into the water and decided to go back into the forest.

'Well, it's not like I have anywhere to be. Might as well get stronger while I'm here it would be embarrassing if I died the first time I run into any danger outside of this island.'

And on that thought, he went back into the forest and left the beach quite and empty.

=Four Months later=

Just outside of the calm belt a ship with a flag saying "Marines" could be seen sailing across the sea.

"Vice Admiral Garp we have entered the calm belt and will reach marine ford in a few days time."

A marine captain saluted a man who was sitting on a chair at the front of the boat trying to show his utmost respect.

On the chair Garp was sitting there with a coat with the words "Justice" Blew in the sea's breeze and his arms crossed looking straight ahead.

"Good those boys were starting to make my head hurt with all that talk about being pirates."

Currently, Garp was on his personal marine warship that has a massive dog face on the front holding a bone in his mouth.

He had just come back from the east blue after visited his grandson Luffy along with Ace and Sabo.

`I can't believe that shanks put those ideas in there head when I get back to marine ford Ill track him down myself an-.'

Garp's thoughts were cut off by a loud voice coming from a speaker attached to the bottom of the mask.

"Captain! I see smoke ahead on an island to the right of the ship!"

A marine who was holding a transponder snail with one hand and currently using a telescope to look at an island with his other hand

From what he could see there was a large amount of smoke rising from the other side of the island but he couldn't see what was causing it.

The marine captain quickly turned and went towards the mass and started talking to the transponder snail attached to it.

"There is smoke coming from an island? Can you see what's causing it may just be a forest fire.."

"From what I can tell there isn't enough smoke for it to be a forest fire but it may be a signal from stranded marines. "

The lookout said intro the transponder while still focusing on the island.

The marine captain heard what he said and said into a different transponder.

"Are we picking up any distress signals nearby?"

The snail replied after a few seconds.

"No Sir we aren't picking up anything it may be a trap."

'A trap out in the calm belt that makes no sense but it's strange for them not to send out distress signals when they crash.'

The marine captain was in a predicament and decided to consult Vice Admiral Garp.

"Sir we have spotted an island that has a cloud of smoke coming from its right side there seem to be no distress signals so it may be a trap."

Garp listened to him still not turning around and waited for him to finish.

"Hm. Head to the island if its a trap then we will deal with them however if their marines who were unable to send a distress signal then we will pick them up and take them to marine ford along with us."

"Yes, Vice Admiral Garp! Turn 80 degrees right and head towards the island that has smoke rising from it."

"Yes, Captain!"

All the marines on the ship said in unison.

=Meanwhile back on the island=

Enes just finished eating a meal that consisted mainly of meat from the beast he hunted and fruit he found in the forest.

He was full and was relaxing in front of the fire letting his food digest.

Over the past four months, Enes has hunted and killed all types on beast on the island.

He ran into "Giant Apes" a "Hybrid Rhinoceros" That looked like it was mixed with a bear and even most recently the "Giant Snake" he saw from his first weeks on the island and he finished eating a while ago.

However, even after all four months of hunting his rank only went up by one.

This made him think that he would probably get more Exp from people than the beast he hunts from the forest but since there are no other people on the island he just had to make due.

He got a lot of experience when he came to fighting due to the variety of creatures he fought on the island and even learned how to ricochet his shield off of other objects using his enhanced reflexes and spidey sense to predict its path.

He also really wanted to try and fight a beast without using his shield but decided not to push his luck.

Other than all the exciting stuff every day he would make sure he checked the ocean for ships but even after all these months he still didn't see any ships.

But like all days he didn't stop doing it and he walked around the island checking the sea looking for any ships until suddenly something caught his eye.

'Wait is that what I think it is?''

He ran towards the direction where he saw a dot over the ocean.

After looking at it for a few minutes he realized it was a ship and to his surprise, it was getting bigger which meant it was coming towards him.

'Finally, I can get off this godforsaken island!'

Enes was ecstatic and was extremely excited that he finally could leave but soon that excitement was overshadowed by questions.

'But what if their pirates I can't kill them or else who will steer the ship. And if there marines what if they arrest me, after all, I don't know if I'm a pirate in this world.'

Enes started to get anxious and decided it would be best if he prepared himself to fight the people on the ship.

=Back at the marine ship=

"Vice Admiral Garp we have spotted a person on the island but they don't appear to be a marine."

"Only one person and they're not a marine?"

Garp replied and started to feel like it may actually be a trap set up by pirates that got stranded in the calm belt.

"Hmm. Dock on the island and prepare for combat it might be a trap set up by pirates"

"Yes, Vice Admiral! Marines prepare to dock on the island and get ready for combat!"

"Yes, Sir!"

The Marines replied to the captain orders and started shuffling on the boat grabbing weapons from the armory.

Back at the island Esen has been slowly watching the ship get closer and was able to make out that it was a marine ship.

'If I remember the story correctly that should be Garp's ship. Should this be considered good or bad luck that I ran into him?'
