108 The Inhumans

Speaking with Dr. Strange made me realise that I needed soldiers to fight for me. 

Or more precisely, I needed cannon fodder.

And it is impossible to use humans as cannon fodder as despite them being sacrificial pawns, I need people that can hold the likes of Kang and Blackheart for at least a few minutes. And after brainstorming for a while, I found the best option.

Inhumans.

I had plundered Hive's ability to command Inhumans and when needed, I will make use of the ability. But for now, I just want to meet them.

"Halt! You shan't go any further." 

Of course…

"Didn't I get rid of a dozen of you guys on my way here?" I asked. "You sure that you want to do this again?" 

Most of the guards were Inhumans or genetically modified beings with weak powers. 

Well, weak in front of me but they would be considered elite by others. 

"Well, whatever…" 

I had no intention of killing them as it would reduce the cannon fodder for the future. And I didn't want that, so instead of killing them— I had them captured with my shadow manipulation.

I had to bind their limbs but it got the job done. 

They fell on the ground with many more soldiers coming after me. Realising that it was going nowhere— I decided to use Hive's ability.

Previously, I had tested the ability on a few Inhumans when I was still Marcellus… So, I knew exactly how to use it. 

"Stop." 

Transmitting my thoughts as a command, I had them freeze in their tracks. 

"That was easy."

Their eyes had turned hazy as my ability worked on them.

This ability might be better than I expected…

The best part is that there are countless Inhumans that roam the earth without even realising their heritage. And if I expose them to Terrigen Crystals, they will awaken as Inhumans…

Meaning that I will gain an even bigger army.

As I enjoyed experimenting with my powers, I felt a distortion in space. And as I tried to check the cause of it— a flame shot towards me. 

The space recovered and revealed a gigantic dog and next to him was a short-haired brunette. 

I knew exactly who they were.

The dog was Lockjaw… the gatekeeper dog with the ability to teleport.

And the woman was the queen's sister— Crystallia Amaquelin Maximoff… Crystal for short. She possesses the ability to control the basic elements— Fire, Water, Wind and Earth.

"Who are you, intruder!" She demanded my name. "What brings a non-inhuman to Attilan?"

She seemed young— like she was in her teenage years. 

"The name's Markus. And I am here to meet the king."

She frowned at my response. "Why did you harm the guards?" 

She looked around and was surprised to find the guards still under my compulsion.

"No… What have you done to them?" She asked, confused by the unresponsive guards.

But before I could answer, I was attacked by a massive water shot. 

I noticed the shot coming towards me, but it was not worth dodging as the attack did nothing other than making my clothes wet— which dried just as fast as they could blink.

As I looked at the source of the attack, I shook my head to find the attacker. 

Of course, it was the knock-off Namor.

It was Triton… Triton Mander-Azur, one of the king's cousins.

He was a fish-like humanoid that had… As one would expect— fish-based attacks.

"And who might you be?" I asked, playing dumb.

"I am Triton, the Prince of the Oceans!" He exclaimed.

Namor would like to have a chat, buddy.

Still, acting normal— I gave the Inhumans a slight bow.

"My names Markus, and I have an issue that I need to discuss with the king."

The two royals didn't seem convinced but to my surprise, I was greeted by another royal— with authority higher than them.

"Let him in."

It was a redhead with beautiful features. She was taller than the brunette and was quite beautiful.

Her long red hair was a dead giveaway of her identity.

I descended on the Attilan ground and gave her a light bow. 

"It's a pleasure to meet the queen of Attilan."

Medusa didn't seem very pleased but nodded. 

"Follow me, the king awaits you."

…

Inside the palace, I stood in front of all the royal members that were present. Black Bolt, Medusa, Triton, Crystal and Lockjaw.

The rest of the members were not present but all I needed was Black Bolt.

"Speak, outsider." Queen Medusa announced. "What brings you here?" 

I looked at her and then at Black Bolt. 

"Your Highness." The king gave me a nod. "My Lady." And so did the queen.

I took a deep breath and continued. "Attilan is in the danger of being destroyed." 

Before I could continue, I was interrupted by Crystal.

"What bullshit are you spouting?" She asked. "There is no one that can harm Attilan."

She was naive and prideful… that's for sure.

Black Bolt seemed confused at my statement, so he gestured me to continue speaking.

Giving him a nod, I continued. "Your Highness, in a little over three years— Earth will be invaded by Kang the Conqueror and his landing will be in the Atlantic."

Black Bolt frowned as he knew who Kang was. Medusa was the same as she followed the same gesture as Black Bolt, but Crystal and Triton were clueless.

"Kang? Who is that?" Crystal asked.

"A man obsessed with ruling every planet." Medusa answered on my behalf. "And a terrifying being."

Crystal was shocked by Medusa's answer.

"But why is such a being planning to attack earth?" Triton asked. "There must be many more planets better than ours to pillage."

You naive fool… The strong didn't need a reason in this universe. 

"My lord, Kang attacks weak planets in the hopes of finding soldiers to fight for him. People are nothing more than fodder for him and he plans to invade earth to strengthen his army and invade stronger planets with those soldiers after that." I answered.

"But how did you obtain this information and how can we trust you?" Medusa asked.

A valid question…

"I am a mutant… as you might have figured from my abilities. And I have many friends who are similar to me, many of them possess precognitive abilities and they found that in less than two years, earth will be invaded by Kang and the Atlantic will be his landing spot. Since Attilan is located above the Atlantic, Kang will destroy it before moving to the other places."

This made everyone within the room distressed.

Black Bolt looked at Medusa and nodded.

"Why did you bother informing us?" Medusa asked. "We have remained hidden from humans for ages." 

"And how did you even find us?" Triton asked.

"Earth cannot fight against Kang without the help from strong beings such as you, your Highness." I said looking at Black Bolt and then I looked at Triton. "As for your question…" I smiled. "Precognition ability."

"That's one scary ability…" Crystal mumbled. 

Black Bolt and Medusa looked at each other— discussing through gestures. 

"We express our gratitude to you for informing us about the upcoming threat. But unless our nation doesn't suffer any harm, we refuse to partake in any sort of battle." Medusa declared. 

I was fine with that, as they will have to get involved because Kang would definitely come for them.

And when needed, I can always use Hive's ability on them.

"Trust me, my lady… Kang will definitely come for Antilla."

"When that happens, Antilla and the Inhumans would be ready to face Kang." Medusa said, making everyone within the room nod.

"That… is good enough." I said and looked at Black Bolt. "Thank you for giving me a chance to speak, your Highness."

Black Bolt nodded but Medusa frowned. 

"I will overlook the fact that you attacked our guards as the news was important for the future of Antilla, but if you try to harm any guards in the future— you will be arrested."

Chuckling internally, while keeping an impassive face on the outside, I nodded.

"I will keep that in mind."

"You may leave." She announced. "And from the next time you visit, you won't be attacked. The guards will escort you as a guest— as long as you don't break any Antillan rule."

"Thank you, my lady."

That works… 

And now, I need to check on the Order and get prepared for the future.
