20 Martial Arts

[Japan]

Akihira didn't know what to say or think. Most of the guards within the Miyagi Prefecture were killed and now there was a man within his property who was strangling one of his security guards.

"Who... are you?"

Akihira noticed that the man didn't look Japanese… as a matter of fact, not even Asian. His facial features reminded him of the Westerners.

"The name's James Howlett. I only came here for my son… If you know where he is, tell me… Now!"

This man was dangerous. All of his senses were screaming at him to run away… as far as he possibly could… but he couldn't. He was the head of one of the three major families of Miyagi Prefecture… and he couldn't just run away.

"I don't know what 'son' you are talking about. But you have to pay for what you did to the samurais." Akihira had the responsibility of bringing the deceased to justice… but angering the Wolverine is never a good thing.

"Are you Akihira?" Wolverine was… surprisingly calm.

Akihira was taken aback by the question, but he still nodded. "Yes, I am."

The moment those words left his mouth. Three cold bone claws were next to his neck.

The man who was standing in front of him just 2 seconds ago, was now behind him with his claws around his neck.

"Where. Is. My. Son."

Akihira's blood ran cold at the emotionless voice of the man.

"W-what son?" He honestly didn't know what this demonic man was talking about.

"My son. The one you picked up."

Akihira's eyes widened. It was starting to make sense to him. A few days ago, someone left a child in front of his doorstep and he had no clue who left him there.

Thinking that it was an abandoned baby… He took him in.

"A-Are you talking about Akihiro?"

Akihiro. That's what Akihira named the boy.

"H-Honey what's going on?" He flinched at the voice of his wife coming from behind.

Both he and the man turned around to look at her… carrying Akihiro with her.

"My… Son." That's what the man said before retracting the claws and walking towards Akihira's wife and son.

Akihira couldn't move because of the fear.

"M-My son. My Bub!" A smile appeared on the man's face while walking towards Akihiro.

Natsumi was scared but couldn't move after looking at the bone claws of the western man.

He extended his arms towards his son.

"I cannot let you take the kid, young man."

"NATSUMI!"

Akihira shouted as the headless body of his wife fell on the ground... with a white-haired man with black bangs standing in front of the bone claw man… with Akihiro in his arms.

[China]

"For the next 12 months, I will be training you non-stop. The only break you will get will be for a week… after every two months." He takes a sip. "Is that acceptable?"

He did ask me… But in reality, he was 'stating' that I will get a break for only a week… and not asking me.

As far as I know about Zheng Zu from the comics… he is a very dangerous man and definitely not someone that you would want to antagonize.

"You will be training your body to the peak human condition and later go beyond it with the help of the medical arts."

Unlike those Chinese martial art novels where they chew some pills and *BOOM!*  You become a god… Zheng Zu's methods are completely different.

This guy uses his advancements in the field of medicine to change the entire structure of nerves and bones.

And he does all this with the help of acupuncture.

Once you reach the peak human level the evolution or progress beyond it… gets locked. But with the help of medicine and acupuncture, Zheng Zu can open up all the pores in the human body and make the body stronger than even most mutants.

Plus he beats up any and every martial arts technique inside the person.

So overall, you get limits and powers beyond Captain America, the art of disguise which can even fool Mystique and the secrets of his Medical Arts… for a piece of Vibranium.

Totally worth it!

"Have you ever trained before?"

"I have done a bit of Aikido, Judo, and Kung Fu… and that's it."

It was true. I spent the last six years of my life trying to become rich and starting my projects. I have never directly trained my body.

He leans on the chair. "I will teach you some ways to meditate to calm your body and soul and then we will start your martial arts training." His expression turns serious. "After that, we will move onto the art of disguise and medicine."

I nod and he passes me a list.

"Read that, it is your schedule." He said before taking another sip of his herbal tea.

Wake up at 3:30, clean up before 4:00, meditation from 4:00 to 6:00, then yoga from 6:00 to 7:00 and then martial arts for… 8 hours?!?

The time table was scary… it honestly was. But there is never an easy way to success.

"Thank you."

He shook his head. "Don't thank me. Because this training is going to be worse than torture." He chuckled. "And that is barely the first level. Once your body adapts to the martial arts… I will break it with medical arts and you will have to start again from scratch."

Maybe… I should have just gone with the super-soldier serum.

"But once you do that. Your body will evolve further and you will gain more than any human can ever dream of achieving. Skin as hard as steel, being able to stay underwater for hours, strength to pull a bulldozer, and many more."

Okay, screw the super-soldier serum. This was the real deal. Now I know why Shang-Chi was so badass in the comics.

"As long as you can follow my instructions… you will achieve heights unimaginable." He rubbed his beard.

"I will, teacher."

He shook his head. "As long as you learn under me. You must address me as, Shifu."

"Understood… Shifu!"
