11 Chapter 11 : Trust the Teachers!

The clash between Iceman and Colossus left Carl visibly taken aback.

Yet, in comparison to Iceman, whose potential reaches Omega levels, Colossus still fell short, relying too heavily on a simplistic, straightforward approach to combat.

Thus, despite the spectacle unfolding before him, Carl observed as Iceman maintained dominance from the onset.

Engrossed in the battle, Carl couldn't help but ponder how he would confront Iceman if he were in Colossus's shoes.

As he contemplated, Carl's gaze narrowed, silently acknowledging, "In terms of performance, I'm far behind Colossus."

"My defense can't match his. Presently, I'm barely able to shrug off ordinary knives or low-caliber pistols."

"But my speed surpasses his by a wide margin. His reliance on sheer strength renders him vulnerable; while his defense has elevated, his agility and speed lag behind."

With his thoughts racing, Carl instinctively summoned his attribute page.

Host: Carl [West Carl]

Race: Human

Bloodline: Kryptonian Superman [Bronze Age]

Constitution: 420

Spirit: 213

Strength: 490 [Grip strength: 6 tons]

Agility: 412

X Gene Ability: Energy Rage [Level 1]

Storage Space: 1X1

In just two days, his physique had skyrocketed to over 400, equivalent to over 40 times that of an ordinary person, with his grip strength reaching an astounding 6 tons.

With a grip strength of six tons, each punch packed a force of at least twelve tons. Adding a charge would further enhance the explosive power with additional kinetic energy.

Moreover, his agility data had also surged, surpassing ordinary standards by over 40 times.

Yet, spiritual attribute growth remained comparatively sluggish, currently exceeding ordinary levels by just over twentyfold.

Furthermore, there was the X Gene Ability, Energy Rage, a power Carl had yet to unleash.

The first impression he had from his predecessor's memories was during his Awakening at school, where his entire body surged with violent power, effortlessly sending the high school bully who had tormented him flying through the air.

Beside him, Shadowcat whispered to Carl, "Peter's abilities are formidable. Even a high-powered cannonball couldn't harm him when his entire body is reinforced."

"And don't be deceived by his current suppression by Bobby. His abilities are being restricted, and some auxiliary functions remain unutilized."

Carl nodded in understanding.

Suddenly, Scott, standing at the edge of the ring, signaled, prompting the two combatants on stage to cease their actions and retract their abilities.

Observing Peter's ten-minute-long fight, during which his expression remained unchanged and his breathing steady, Scott murmured, "Peter's steel ability has significantly strengthened compared to last month."

"Next up, Troy, your opponent is Orolo."

Troy, a mutant with the ability to plant and manipulate vegetation, stepped onto the stage. His slender frame seemed to root into the ground as three vine-like tendrils rapidly sprouted and lunged towards Storm in the distance.

However, compared to the powerhouse Colossus, these vines appeared feeble.

Storm merely gestured, conjuring a fierce gust of wind around her that not only lifted her into the air but also blew the vines away.

Just as the vines were blown aside, flowers bloomed suddenly upon them, exploding with a bang and releasing a cloud of pink pollen.

This pollen induced paralysis; upon inhalation, victims would experience hallucinations and become immobilized.

Yet, unable to approach Orolo, the pollen-laden winds were dispersed by the gusts.

Minutes later, the stage battle concluded, and a sweat-drenched, physically spent Troy descended.

Subsequently, the remaining mutants took the stage, each showcasing a diverse array of abilities, leaving Carl awestruck.

One mutant could unleash powerful air cannons, another could morph limbs into weaponry, and yet another could manipulate energy into tangible projectiles, resembling an archer firing energy arrows with commendable force.

Lastly, it was Shadowcat's turn to face Iceman Bobby, tasked with making physical contact with him.

Confronted with solid ice walls, Shadowcat seemed like an ethereal apparition, effortlessly passing through them in pursuit of Iceman, a relentless endeavor.

Her disregard for his ice projectiles and other attacks starkly contrasted Colossus' approach.

However, despite her ability to phase through and be immune to all attacks, her strength and speed do not match up to Colossus, and she can't keep pace with Iceman, who effortlessly controls ice sliding.

What's peculiar, though, is that in this form, she can effortlessly pass through the ice wall while running on the ring, shrugging off attacks. But why doesn't she fall through the ring?

This left Carl somewhat puzzled.

As Shadowcat Kitty stepped down, Scott glanced at Carl, who hadn't participated yet, and whispered, "You're up next, West. I'll be your sparring partner."

With a slight hesitation, Carl stepped onto the ring, under the gaze of many.

Observing Carl from afar, Scott adjusted his glasses and murmured, "West, the professor mentioned you're a rare Mutant genius."

Instantly, the expressions of the onlookers below turned to surprise. They hadn't anticipated Professor X's appraisal of Carl to be so high.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Carl replied, "...Mr. Scott, do you think the professor may have praised me too much?"

At this moment, Carl felt a twinge of regret. While he'd demonstrated some abilities, all he really wanted was a bit of attention and perhaps some privileges—not to be taken so seriously by Professor X.

Knowing this might be the outcome, he'd have been a bit more obstinate and avoided revealing his powers.

Unfortunately, there's no turning back time.

Scott shook his head slightly. "West, you needn't be modest here, nor do you need to hide your abilities. Among Mutants, strength is strength."

"The professor mentioned that although you've only recently awakened your abilities, your mental fortitude is remarkably stable. However, you seem a tad wary of those around you and your surroundings."

"It's good to be cautious, but remember, this is Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters—a sanctuary for Mutant teenagers."

"Here, you can trust the principal and the faculty completely."

"I assure you, no one here will harm you, so there's no need to conceal who you are."
