32 Moon Kissed

After breaking a few machines and not being able to test my powers properly, we gave up. For now, we classified me as 'very strong'. While walking back to the office, I thought of another unique power of Sentry.

Turning back, I looked at Sage who was following behind me. "What? What are you staring at?" She asked in an annoyed tone.

"Come with me to the roof. I'll show you something amazing." I turned around and walked to the elevator, holding the door for her.

Sage looked at me with squinted eyes. "Are you trying to do that cheesy thing where you hold me and fly around in the sky? If you want to do that then we don't have to go up. I don't want it."

Superheroes existed in this world didn't mean superhero movies didn't exist, in fact, movies about superheroes were very popular here. So the romantic scene of a hero taking the heroine flying is imprinted in everyone's minds.

"No, it is something even better. Just trust me and come with me. I promise it will be great." Sage finally gave in to my persuasion and went up to the roof of the building.

"Now close your eyes and hold on to me tightly." The moment I said that, Sage glared at me but under my pleading eyes, she still did as told.

The next moment, I held her tightly and turned both of us invisible before shooting into the sky. When we lifted off, I felt Sage clutching me a little tighter. I was all smiles the entire time.

"Okay, now open your eyes slowly." I raised her head a little while still holding her.

When Sage opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was my face with a dumb smile. And then, she was shocked. Behind me was the Earth. "This… this is…" She stammered.

"Outer space. We are among the stars now. Look around." Technically we are always among the stars but for now, romanticism was what mattered.

I hadn't flown too far away from Earth. Or we would only be able to see vast emptiness with some stars in the distance. Sage looked at the Earth and the Sun that was slowly peeking from behind it. It all looked extremely beautiful.

"How?" She asked. Her voice still trembling.

"I created a shield around us and then we just flew really fast. But wait, this is not all of it. Close your eyes again for a moment." Sage agreed readily this time.

After a few seconds, we were floating above the surface of the moon. When we gently landed and her feet touched solid ground, Sage opened her eyes and looked around. "This is the moon?" She asked once again in shock.

"Yes, we are on the moon. So, do you want to go on a walk with me?" I asked while holding out my hand.

Sage took my hand and rolled her eyes at me before turning to look at the Earth. "It looks beautiful."

I nodded, "It is. From this far out, all you can see is the beauty of it."

Suddenly turning her head toward me, Sage said, "The moment I said it, I was expecting you to say something cheesy. You've matured Savant."

"Oh? Something like you are just as beautiful? I say it all the time. You just don't care. Anyway, are you prepared for the apology gift?" I asked.

"This wasn't the gift? There is more?" Sage asked weirdly.

I didn't answer her but instead pulled her closer by her waist. She looked up at me with a surprised expression. I kept looking into her eyes and leaned closer, I kept going until our lips touched. She kissed back.

After almost a year of flirting back and forth, we shared our first kiss on the moon. Some might say it's too cheesy but to them I say, the moon is not made of cheese, shut up.

The kiss was brief and when our lips separated some distance, Sage smiled, "That was nice but if it was the gift then I will be disappointed."

I separated from her and went back some distance all of a sudden. She looked at me dumbfounded and a little scared. I smiled and said, "Try to fly."

"What?"

"I said, try to fly. Imagine yourself flying. Don't worry and just do it."

Sage looked apprehensive but she still trusted me and tried doing it. After a few moments, she really started to float around. In her excitement, she started to fly at greater speeds while I chased after her.

After the initial excitement wore off, she suddenly stopped and looked at me, "How am I flying? And how can I live outside your shield?"

"The kiss itself wasn't the gift but I shared some of my powers with you along with the kiss so you have some of my powered-down abilities."

Her eyes lit up in realization. "I remember you telling me about Robert's sidekick sharing the powers of Sentry. So that's it."

She suddenly accelerated and held on to me before kissing me once again while we flew at high speeds above the moon's surface. It was nice until I thought of something and ended the kiss and stopped our flight.

"What happened?" Sage asked worriedly.

I shook my head, "It's nothing too big. I just didn't want us to crash into the peeping blue giant ot the city of the Inhumans."

"What giant? What city?" Sage was rightfully confused.

"There is an alien being on the moon whose race calls themselves the Watchers. They love to just watch and record everything that happens in the universe. As for the city of Inhumans, there is a city on the moon made by a subspecies of humans similar in nature to mutants who call themselves the Inhumans."

While I was explaining, a blue giant had already appeared at the side. "Oh speak of the devil. That's the watcher. You should be Uatu if I'm not mistaken?"

"Yes, and you are Savant Smith. A peculiar one." Uatu, the watcher spoke.

Sage was slightly startled by the watcher appearing but composed herself quickly.

"Thanks for the compliment." I then turned to Sage, "Remember his face. If you see him anywhere around a fight or if you feel like someone is watching you during a battle then just think of saving your life. The watcher appearing always means that something big is going to happen."

"If you put it that way, it sounds like I am the cause of those troubles. I only watch, I don't interfere." Uatu added.

"Yeah, I totally believe you. Anyway, let us talk again next time, the Inhumans seem to have noticed the movements here, so we will be leaving." I held Sage closer to myself and turned invisible before flying off to Earth.

With my speed, it didn't take too long for us to reach Earth and back to the roof of the office building. Sage didn't speak the whole time until we landed on the roof.

"So, how long can I keep these powers?" Sage asked still holding on to me.

"Until I cut off the connection? I think I can maintain your power consumption quite easily. You can only have the superhuman physique and flight though. Your physiology can't handle other powers sadly." I explained what I knew of the ability.

"And how many people can you share this power with?" I don't know why but I felt like this question meant more than just the literal meaning. Almost felt like she was asking for commitment.

"As far as I can tell, it isn't possible to share with multiple people. If it was, Robert would probably have done it himself during his time as Sentry." Even if I could, I wouldn't share it with anyone else.

In this world, the only person I'm closest to is Sage who started off as a crush and is my girlfriend from now. At least that's what I think is the case. I'll have to ask her for verbal confirmation. You never know with girls without explicitly asking them.

In theory, the only weakness I have is the person I care about the most. And although it started with a lot of flirting, the friendship I have with Sage is precious not to mention our relationship that just started. So, giving her the power is my insurance for her safety.

As for my friends, Hank Pym has been a superhero for years now. He has his own Yellow-jacket suit. And Doug Ramsey is just an employee as far as the public perception is concerned. So, hopefully, there aren't any dumb villains who will try to use my friends in order to attack me.
