1 Second Chance

What would feel if you got betrayed? It breaks your heart.

What if you dream got shattered in front you? It breaks your heart.

What if you were a puppet? Manipulated? For all your life? It's a soul crushing experience.

For many years of planning, scheming, and sacrifice, it all went down the drain. I have founded Konoha alongside with my rival and childhood friend, Hashirama. We have created an haven for the two ultimate clans. Uniting them to further strengthen the village. Great sacrifices and Hardwork. And for what?

It was all planned by backstabbing, Mama's boy Black Zetsu. It's all his fault for reviving the Rabbit. The grand scheme of Infinite Tsukiyomi.

I guess, it was also my fault. It was my biggest responsibility to carry. I should've notice. I should've... I should have... Have... Noticed.

I always put the benefit of the world in my eyes, but I ended up destroying its future. Fortunately, I was stopped by Sage of the Sixth Paths' Descendants' Reincarnation.

If Kaguya's plan succeed, the people will only be an expendable chakras.

Now I'm floating into the endless cycle of the universe. Forever lost to compensate my doings. To punish all my wrongs, of what I am, what I have become.

It was all for the best.

"What a broken Soul."

It was then, I heard a voice. A voice so gentle, compassionate. I opened my eyes.

It was beautiful.

No longer was the black void was in sight, but a vast varieties of stars filled the dark space. He looked everywhere, exploding suns, milky mist and ethereal night.

His eyes flung everywhere, unsatisfied with the beauty on his surroundings. Until, his sight fell unto a bright light.

"Come, child."

That soothing feeling filled his chest. His broken heart slowly followed the light.

He then fell into a chair, infront of him is a gentle looking old man.

He looked wary, result of his years of experience in the war. Don't trust anyone.

A strange old man infront of him is not someone he can fight. Maybe, it was the one who will judge souls. This is it. This is how I'll fall into the endless pit of damnation.

"Looking at you, you have experience a lot." The old man smiled sadly, seemingly able to feel his sufferings.

Madara didn't speak. He looked like he knew what will happen next.

"Do not be like that, child. I feel your life was unfair." The old man stood up and walked to a table, picking some food in the trays and finally, dropping gently in the table.

"Eat your fill. Even, souls need nourishment." The old man pointed at the food.

Madara gave the stranger a look and finally said, "Why are doing this? Filling up a pig and then butchering them up next? Just get on with the punishment, I know there's no saving me."

"You're wrong, child. This food is your life, your life full of betrayals, your life full of bitterness, and your life full of broken dreams. After you eat it, I will give you another food. The food that will give you another life. A chance. A redemption." The old man slowly explained.

"I don't want another life. I want to be erased. I am just a speck of dust waiting to happen." Madara smiled with self-mock.

"You can't choose, child, unfortunately, as this isn't your universe. What we can do is transfer your soul to a dying body." The old man sighed as he explained.

"What do you mean 'this isn't your universe'?" Madara questioned.

The old man sighed again and said, "When a demi-god swallowed your body, your soul was ejected and got lost in our universe."

"Then, bring me back to my universe or let me float to an endless void." Madara replied. I just want to feel pain all over again.

"We can't. We have no kind of power to bring you back and I don't want to put into the endless void. You, child, have great power to change the world." The old man explained.

"I decided to give up this oppurtunity." Madara said and kept quiet.

"Then, I shall send you to the paradise." The old man said.

Madara looked at the old man and said, "Before you do that, give my eyes and abilities to the dying body you have said earlier. My eyes and abilities is still useful, please give it to someone who'll use it wisely for good."

"As you wish. I will give them your battle experience to guide and your weapon, gunbai, to complement it." The said.

"While you're at it, I would like to say a few words with your chosen." Madara said.

Sokovia, Underground Facility

Baron Von Strucker, the HYDRA Head of Sokovia, came back with volunteers. Using Loki's scepter, they can unlock the powers hidden in the mind.

Amongst the people, ranging to children to young adults, a teenager looked reluctant with his choice. On his face, he is hesistant on why would he come with a stranger.

"Oh man, I'm beginning to regret this. I should've just stayed on the streets." James has a worried look on his face. James is an american descent that came to Sokovia to visit his aunt and uncle. While they were having dinner, a bomb shell took half of the apartment they're at. The bombs continuosly hits until James was buried, only with his arm injured and head bleeding. Underneath the rubbles, his parents, aunt and uncle was buried. He became an orphan that day. Since then, he lived off the street, eating scraps, thieving, living on the roads of Sokovia.

Years passed, Baron Von Strucker came to him about changing his life and his country for the better. They will be gifted with powers, powers greater than the avengers.

I hope they are right.

Back to the facility, Strucker stood infront of the volunteers. He look at all of them and took a deep breath, saying, "Welcome, brave souls. For you will have a chance to get power to achieve what you desire. Power to avenge your country, avenge your bitter life, AVENGE the avengers! From now on, you will live here, and endure the experiment you'll experience."

Then, the guards forcefully took the volunteers one by one, shoving them to a prison rooms.

James looked at this and exclaimed, "Oh sh*t, Lab rats, here we go."
