6 Playing the Pig, Eating the Tiger

for some reason the surrounding soldiers were booing me louder thougth Daniel but he did not care much about them expect for Steve ,chief Brent and detective Carter who knew the whole truth not the one in which he is a public enemy.

but when he turned towards Chief Brent after signaling Steve that everything was under control he saw that Chief Brent did not have surprised expression instead a annoyed one which made Daniel second guess things , if he did something wrong.

Chief Brent was surprised with Daniel's quick victory at first but when he saw Daniel wink at Detective Carter he was annoyed as he thought Daniel belonged to one of those soldiers who are careless , attention seeking show off's and love huge audience no matter where they are and what they are doing. it's soldiers like this that think they are some kind of hero and disobey direct orders and put the mission and life's of his comrade in jeopardy.

chief Brent started to think that Daniel fainting due to the recoil of his rifle was all an a act , like a Chinese idiom he heard ' playing the pig, eating the tiger '. if a soldier was really this good to knock out a professional boxer then there was no reason Chief Brent could see that would make a soldier faint due to the recoil of the gun.

" sir if i may , I would like to teach this recruit some military regulations "

Detective Carter was starting to regret her decision to voice out for this random cadet , but this cadet wasn't some random recruit he was Steve's friend which was the reason for her to give this cadet a second chance , it seems he is no different than others.

this was the problem with these soldiers you compliment them for a job well done or just talk with them with a friendly smile they start to think that there is something between lines and start taking liberty's with you , stalk you and do not take a no for a answer.

Detective Carter had worked very hard to achieve what she is now and had to deal with many such filthy cases. just when she thinks she had made some progress in her career there is some upper echelon or a colleague or some nobody who will undermine her authority just because she is a woman but it did not matter with her experience she knew how to let them know their place otherwise she would not have made it this far in this unfair world were required to do everything but denied their rights.

lieutenant Sam Lastbottom , he came from a military family his father was a major and grandfather was a one star general adding about a century of military service under their family name.

He has been infatuated with Detective Carter ever since they did a tour together in north Korea. despite Detective Carter's repeated show of disgust for him he never took the hint to make himself scarce and thought that she was playing hard to get.

lieutenant Sam has been like a stalker angle looking over Detective Carter's shoulders and taking care of all the filthy people troubling her path. when he saw Daniel wink at Detective Carter he knew what he had to do and nodded towards one of his cronies.

heard Chief Brent as he was formulating how to take care of the trouble maker in his military camp. when he turned to see the source of the voice he saw the bulky built Sergeant John Madison , he was a very ambitious soldier and did not mind ass-kissing his superiors now and then. chief Brent could use some one like him right now. chief Brent was not a petty person but he hated when someone made use of his little bit of generosity like Daniel did.

" what are you suggesting sergeant ? " chief Brent asked

" I would like to go into the ring against the snort nosed cadet , sir " answered sergeant John.

" ah! .. he has already proven that he can be a capable soldier there is no need to continue with this any further. but , I would not mind if cadet Daniel agrees to continue , seeing that half of the military base is here to watch a show." said chief Brent

" then I will handle it accordingly sir " said sergeant John .

getting consent from the chief Brent sergeant John entered the Boxing ring where Daniel stood calmly not effected by the Boos of the soldiers all he thought right now was the he would turn all this Boos into Woos before he left the ring. the crowd quite downed after sergeant John entered the Boxing ring.

" that was good right hook there kid " said sergeant John as he stood against Daniel.

" thank you , I was just lucky " said Daniel

" You do not have to be modest kid , how about going a round a with me. " said sergeant John

" oh , good let's began . " said Daniel nonchalantly as he was here to test his new found skills . it was like ' patient craved alcohol and Doctor prescribed alcohol ' .

with Daniel's consent the crowd settled down ready for some action , now that Daniel has proven his close combat prowess the crowd is really looking forward to a decent match between sergeant John and Daniel they already forgot their original reason to be here. with all the pressure of war on them all they really cared about right now was blowing some steam off.

with the sound of the bell the atmosphere in the ring changed , once close and friendly senior aura of sergeant John changed in to a cunning and blood hungry Haynes aura he did not waste any time in taunting Daniel like Ronnie did he direct advanced on Daniel trying to catch him off guard concentrating on Daniel's middle aiming for his ribs ... left .. right ... center .. . Daniel blocked all the advance skillfully waiting for a right moment for sergeant John to makes a opening. after 40 seconds of constant advance John made a slip giving Daniel a perfect chances to counter by hitting John's right shoulder.

seeing how Daniel's guard was perfect after his constant advance John decided to lure him in with a opening to is right but to his surprise Daniel's punches were faster then he anticipated and John took a lose to his right shoulder . seeing that his tactics did not work John moved back making distance between him and Daniel , he thought Daniel would pursue him since he held a upper hand but to his surprise Daniel did not. unlike boxing , close combat is not a gentlemanly sport with rules so the opponents weren't just restricted to their fists they could make use of every part of their and opponents body. so, as John created a distance between him and Daniel he wanted to ambush perusing Daniel with a upper kick but unknown to him Daniel had already know of his kick boxing proficiency with his card ability and did not fall for John's trap.

when sergeant John climbed the Boxing ring and proposed a friendly match, Daniel wanted to go all out and see his true strength but when he checked sergeant John's cards to gauge his strength Daniel saw a new green cards among John's other regular soldier cards

seeing this green card Daniel had to change his plan of going all out , so he was in the defensive from the start to John's advance for extracting the green card by maintaining a meter range with John about three minutes.

seeing that Daniel did not fall for his trap again John was agitated as he a 8 year veteran soldier was not able to hold a upper hand on a amateur wet behind his ears cadet in close combat. so he completely changed his style of fighting , if Ronnie who was considered to use a professional and gentlemanly style then sergeant John style can be described as wild and jungle-ly style which was gained through years of life and death experience in field and war .

Being ambitious John knew it was not wise to be proud of his strength as out there sky was vast and harboured many experts but he thought that his ambitions had gained enough strength to be arrogant towards a cadet but what he did not know that the cadet he targeted was someone whom even the heavens did not want to see suffer and gifted him with a over powered cheat ability in front of which any amount of ambition or strength only accounted to nothing.

Sergeant John kept advancing on Daniel with his constant barge of punches mixed with kicks to which Daniel guarded skillfully while maintaining a meter range between him and John.

' times up , finally ' muttered Daniel as he saw a new green card in his arsenal. Daniel was really pissed by John's constant kicks to his face or ribs or lower part it seemed like John really wanted to cripple him over a friendly match . ' time to send him packing ' he thought.

John's advance has slowed by a bit after three minutes of constant advance giving a opportunity to Daniel , who used it skillfully with a right round front kick to John's head.

taking a direct heavy blow to his head John started to move around the ring groggily after few rough breaths he hits to the ground indirectly declaring Daniel as the Victor.
