When I regained consciousness, I found myself in a military tent, which was a bit familiar but looked like the old version of the military tent from the 1940s. Just as I was taking in my surroundings, I felt a searing pain in my head.

I could only scream in my mind, as I could not even scream. Although this pain did not hold a candle to the PAIN I felt before waking up, it still hurt a lot.
After what felt like forever, though it was only a few minutes, the pain slowly started to fade away. As the pain was gone, I found myself with a set of new memories of someone with the same name as me, Magnus Brooks. The memories showed all his life.
At this point, I knew that I had been reborn with my memories intact. Or as all webnovel/anmie fans refer to it, iskeai/transmigration/reborn/reincarnation. I could not describe my emotions right now. First I died, then I was suspended in the void, and now I am here, transmigrated into an unknown world.

Going through the memories and arranging them in their correct order was a lot more tiring than I had thought. But the hard work was fruitful. I got to know about the life of the person whose body is now mine. His life was as ordinary as it could be, as others might think, but I knew that he was a bit special.
Magnus had been an orphan. He had lived in an orphanage his whole life, was kind of a loner, and had a strong passion for serving the country. He was seventeen when World War II began, and he was a perfect soldier. He joined the army recruitment programme a year later, when he became legally eligible. A strategic genius hidden in a body made for war, with an above average physique and an intuitive understanding of weapons
He was in better shape than most people his age. He was rarely ill and had a good body with strong muscles but not too many, resulting in a lean body and I would say it was nearly perfect for a soldier. But this was not the special thing about his life. The unique aspect was that he remembered a man named Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America.
