15 Chapter 15: Kidnapped
August 8th, 1999

Xu Family Compound.
A family of 6 could be seen sitting and eating dinner in an opulant eastern styled dining room. This family of 6 was Jack, Ying Li, Xu Wenwu, Xu Xialing, Shang-Chi, and Mattias.
As the family was eating, Xu Wenwu at the head of the table suddenly said, "So, how was everyone's day?"
Xu Wenwu and the rest of the family instantly looked at Jack simultaneously.
Looking up from his plate and seeing the intense stares of his family, Jack said, "Eh, same old same old, I guess."
After saying that, he awkwardly went back to eating.
Xu Wenwu's upper right eyebrow twitched while he was smiling, and he said, "Really? You wouldn't have happened to see the 3 rampaging giants in New York during your little shopping trip with your mother, right? 2 of them shockingly looked familiar to me. Mayor Giuliani is calling for this Rook and Warden to step forward and receive medals for their heroic actions. Over 850 citizens of the US died, and 76 of them were cops; if it wasn't for those two ice giants, who knows how many more would've died."
Jack was stunned after hearing the death count, not knowing the full extent of the carnage the Lizardman wrought upon Williamsburg. He was also surprised the mayor was willing to give medals to possible mutants, but on second thought, it made sense knowing 9/11 has yet to happen; making this the largest attack on a major US city in modern times.
Getting over his shock, Jack looked at the various funny looks his family was giving him. Looking at his irrate father, distraught mother, smug sister, and shocked brothers, he said, "Oh that, yeah, I was just testing out the combat power of my two new creations. They're quite simple-minded, but they're loyal and straightforward. Meet Rook and Warden."
With a flick of his hand, two 13-foot tall ice portals that nearly touched the dining rooms ceiling opened up behind Jack and out sauntered Rook and Warden.
Seeing the two ice giants, the Xu family was shocked. Xu Wenwu had his mouth slightly open, Xu Xialing had stars of admiration twinkling in her eyes, and Shang-Chi and Mattias were admiring the look and size of the Ice Colossus'.
Ying Li was overlooking the various shocked looks of the family with a sort of arrogance that only one in the know would have.
"Go on, introduce yourself," Jack said to the two.
"I'm Rook," said the giant on the right of Jack.
"I'm Warden," said the giant on the left side of Jack.
"Jack, what exactly... are they?," Xu Wenwu asked with a deep frown.
"I guess you could call them my subordinates. I was messing around with ice constructs and created them with my cryokinetic powers," Jack said nonchalantly.
Xu Wenwu didn't even know how to respond knowing Jack just casually dropped the fact that he created life out of ice.
Seeing the awkwardness start to set in, Jack said, "Oh, I happened to meet someone interesting today. Her name is Emma Frost; my apparent biological half-sister."
Xu Xialings chopsticks dropped out of her hand and clanged on her plate, "H-half sister?," she said with a quiver. The rest of the family also looked half concerned and intrigued.
"Yes, she apparently ran away from home after an alteraction with our biological father. I didn't get to talk much with her, but I managed to set up a meeting with her tomorrow and offered for her to move into my skyscraper, which she accepted. She also offered to tell me more about her life," Jack said to his family calmly.
Hearing that a girl that claims to be Jacks sister is moving in with him, Xu Xialing felt a sudden crisis emerge in her heart. She stood up and ran away from the table to her bedroom.
Seeing Xu Xialing run from the table, Jack and the rest of the family were worried.
Ying Li intervened and said, "Jack, I think you and I should go talk to her." Standing up from the opposite side of Wenwu, she ran after Xialing.
Agreeing with her, Jack created two portals and sent Rook and Warden back into the [Infinity Castle] space. As he was about to follow his mother out, Xu Wenwu stopped him and said with a serious face, "Jack, I want you to know I'll always be your father, no matter who conceived you. I may not be your father biologically, but I still raised you."
Stunned with what Wenwu said, Jack didn't know how to respond at first. Jack was originally an orphan with no parental figure in his past life, so he was still somewhat unfamiliar with having parental affection directed at him.
Snapping out of his daze, Jack said, "Don't worry, dad, Emma said he was a major asshole anyways, and I'm definitely not going to be looking for any new father figure anytime soon with you here."
Jack saw the normally fierce Xu Wenwu let out a small breath of relief and smile softly.
"That's good to hear, my son. Now go comfort your sister. Also, after I saw the news, I bought you a gift!" Xu Wenwu threw a set of keys at Jack.
Catching the set of keys in his hands, Jack accepted them and stuffed them in his pocket after seeing they were car keys.
"It's parked in your upper lot in New York. I had the seller move it there after getting the spare set of keys. He said the main ones should be in the glovebox," Xu Wenwu explained with a smile.
Jack accepted it and ran after his mother and sister and said, "Thanks, dad!"
Smiling and shaking his head, Xu Wenwu was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Shang-Chi say, "Where's my car?"
Feeling a headache coming on, Wenwu let out a groan.

1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York.
Emma Frost was currently lying in her bed, looking at her ceiling. Unable to get the thoughts of her newly discovered brother out of her head, she was unusually excited to start her new life with him.
She at first thought that Jack was a spy sent by her father to retrieve her, but she denied that thought instantly; knowing her father would jump at the chance to have a non-gay and somewhat competent son inherit the family fortune and position. After all, according to him, "a woman can't command the respect of the company board members," Emma thought with disgust.
Emma was up all night thinking about Jacks offer to move into his home, and she decided she was going to accept. Although she was grateful for Xavier and all he's done for her; she didn't agree with his ideals and the way he was going about achieving them.
While she was deep in thought, she was interrupted when she heard a few light knocks on the door.
"Emma, it's Ororo. Scott and a few others are going to start morning training soon. I know you're going over to Jack's later today, and I wanted to know if you still wanted to join us," Ororo said in a monotone voice; although her voice did rise a bit when she mentioned Jack.
Emma was broken out of her thoughts. Processing the request, she was at first going to reject her offer, but remembering the power Jack had under his control and the two ice giants that did his bidding, she said, "Sure, I'll be right out; just give me 15 minutes."
Quickly sitting up from her bed, she went over to her desk to pull open a drawer with the ice plate Jack gave to her yesterday inside.
Pulling out her phone, she made up her mind after about 10 seconds and dialed the number.
Without waiting very long, she heard a voice on the other end of her phone.
"Hello?," a curious voice sounded.
"Ah, Jack, it's Emma. I was just wondering what time you wanted to get me "set up" in your skyscraper," Emma said with a slightly trembling voice.
"I can come over at any time that works for you. I'll come pick you up in my new car, and we'll get you set up over here. Maybe grab some lunch, and you can tell me about yourself," Jack said.
"Y-yes, that sounds nice, Jack. You can pick me up in 4 hours at 12." Without waiting for a response, she snapped her flip-phone shut and threw it onto her bed.
Running over to her bed, she rammed her face into her pillow and screamed into it, thinking she was an idiot for hanging up so quickly. She was broken out of her thoughts when her phone vibrated.
Quickly scrambling to get it, she opened it and read a single text that said, "Address???".
Blushing at the text, she quickly typed in, "1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Center, Westchester County, New York."
After a few more minutes of internal cringing, Emma got up from her bed and quickly changed into her workout clothes; black yoga pants, a white hoodie over a black shirt, and some white and black Nike running shoes.
Quickly making way outside to their outdoor training yard, she was annoyed when she encountered the annoying Scott pestering Jean like a horny puppy.
Emma did another preliminary scan of the outdoor training field and saw a group of women containing Rogue, Kitty, Storm, Armor, and Magik.
Looking at the men, she saw Colossus, Angel, Thuderbird, Nightcrawler, Banshee, and Wolverine.
As soon as Jean saw Emma, she ran over to her with a relieved look on her face.
Quickly hooking her arm with Emma's, Jean said with a forced smile, "So, do you have any plans after training today?"
Emma's eye started to twitch when she saw Scott approaching, but she nonetheless said, "Yeah, Jack is coming to pick me up later today to get me set up at his place. We're also going out to lunch to talk."
Jean lost her fake smile and was stunned by the news. Before she could ask more, Scott interrupted their conversation and said, "Ohh, so the Ice Queen finally got a boyfriend, huh? Didn't think it was possible."
"Tsk," Emma didn't even bother replying to him.
Jean also ignored him and asked Emma with a blush and excited voice, "Can I also come? I'd also like to get to know Jack, I think there might be a connection between our powers."
Emma was about to deny her, but Scott interrupted them and said in a rushed tone, "Who is this Jack? I don't think you should be hanging around people you don't even know. If you're going, I'm going, Jean. No arguments, I can't jeopardize your safety."
Emma, seeing Jean about to explode, interrupted them both and said, "I think it's going to just be me and Jack today."
Without waiting for their response, she quickly made her way over to Ororo's group of girls. Hearing the argument explode behind her, she quickly made her way over to Ororo and said, "I can only train for 2 hours today, Jack is coming to pick me up at 12."
Ororo's eyes widened slightly before she quickly said, "I think I should come, just to make sure you're all safe." As she mentioned coming along, the cloudy sky started to part ways a little.
Emma, Rogue, Kitty, Armor, and Magik were all surprised hearing Ororo and seeing the clouds. Usually, she wouldn't cut training short for any reason, so they started discussing who this Jack was.
Emma was starting to feel a little weirded out with how much attention Jack was getting here when they only met the guy for a few minutes.
She eventually said, "It'll just be me and Jack today. I'll be telling him about our father, and he'll be setting me up in his skyscraper."
Ororo's mood died down, and the sky became even darker than it was before.
The group of girls looked at the downcast Ororo and the beautiful face of Emma. They had a premonition that this Jack was good-looking, and hearing "his skyscraper," he was apparently loaded too.
Before the girls could lay into them with questions, they were interrupted when they heard a yell.
"CHARLESSS GET OUT HERE!," a booming voice thundered from the sky. A man in a magenta helmet and cape descended from the sky.
This man appeared to be Magneto.
The X-Mansion was in chaos. All the non-combatant mutants were hiding in their rooms, while a young mutant named Forge wheeled out Charles to the outdoor training yard where Magneto made his appearance.
Looking up at the sky, Charles said, "Erik! What are you doing?! You're scaring the children! Please stop this!"
"I've come for revenge," was the only reply. Lifting up his arms, tiny grains of metal were uplifted from the ground. Eight giant spirals of medals could be seen forming from these grains.
Cyclops, Magik, Banshee, and Storm were sending long-range attacks at Magneto, but they seemingly passed right through him doing no damage. Seeing this, Wolverine shouted, "Stop! there's something wrong!"
Magik, Storm, and Banshee stopped, but Cyclops still kept firing red beams that passed through the levitating Magneto.
With his outstretched hands, Magneto gestured downward. The metal spirals smashed towards the ground. Everyone braced for impact and closed their eyes. After about 15 seconds of intense noise and wind, the mutants on the field opened their eyes and looked around. Luckily, no screams of death were heard, and no mangled corpses could be found.
Wolverine looked around the field and saw that the destruction Magneto caused completely disappeared with only Cyclops' red beams having caused the most damage to the area around them.
Wolverine was broken out of his thoughts when he heard Scott yell, "JEAN?!! JEAN!? JEAN?! WHERE ARE YOU! WHAT HAPPENED TO JEAN?, WHERE IS SHE?!"
Wolverine looked over at Cyclops and saw he was having a mental breakdown. Registering what he said, he looked around and couldn't find Jean. Not only was Jean missing, but so was Emma.
Before he could register the missing people, he heard Charles yell, "Storm! Help that plane!"
Looking up to the sky, Logan saw a commercial airplane split in half falling through the air, Scott's beams having obviously cut it in half when they were fighting.
"Fuck," is all Wolverine could mutter.
