Chapter 76: Stay

They had a quiet lunch, and Wanda kept her head down and avoided making eye contact with Jack after what he had said earlier.

Jack really liked the food and didn't mind the restaurant's humble appearance. They had tasty Italian pasta, a Mexican chicken roll, and a vegetable salad, which he enjoyed.

After finishing their meal and paying the bill, they walked out of the restaurant.

"Okay, so where to next?" Jack asked, looking around with his hands in his pockets.

Wanda, who was feeling shy after Jack's earlier comment, became more relaxed and pointed in a direction, saying, "There's a cool bar over there."

"Pass, next one!"

Jack was interested in the idea of going to a bar, but he dropped the idea when he looked at Wanda.

Underage people are not allowed to drink.

A hint of disappointment flashed through Wanda's eyes, and she reluctantly pointed in another direction.

The afternoon passed quickly.

There wasn't much to do in Sokovia except for the lovely scenery.

Wanda took him around the city, bought some things, watched a movie, and attended a few rallies. The time passed by like this.

When the two returned to the meeting place with their bags, Pietro was bored, squatting on the ground and counting ants.

"Okay, let's go back and there's something I want to talk to you both about," Jack said, glancing at Pietro and then at Wanda.

"Hmm?" The siblings looked at each other, confused.

Without saying anything, Jack led them back to the spacecraft.

After letting the siblings take a shower, Jack sat in the living room and poured himself a glass of wine, lost in thought.

He was thinking about how to keep Wanda by his side.

Yes, he wanted to keep Wanda by his side.

There were two reasons for this.

First, both Wanda and Pietro were orphans, and they were still underage. Sokovia was not completely stable yet, and if he let them go back now, they would undoubtedly suffer a lot.

Jack suddenly thought of a possibility, in the movie, Wanda talked about a Stark bomb that didn't explode in front of them for two days.

Jack thinks that maybe the bomb didn't go off because Wanda accidentally used her powers without knowing it.

Chaos magic seems to be used only accidentally in life or death situations, which also explains why Jack suddenly woke up before.

So basically, to ensure Wanda stays safe, Jack thought it best to keep her close to him. Otherwise, she could end up in a lot of danger.

When someone has crazy powerful abilities like that, there will be a lot of people who want to get their hands on them.

Just as he felt good about himself for being so thoughtful, Wanda and Pietro showed up in the living room, all dressed in new clothes they had bought earlier.

Jack saw that the siblings were hesitant, which made him curious. So he said, "Hey, it looks like you guys have something to say. Go ahead and tell me what's on your mind."

Wanda and Pietro looked at each other, their faces even more hesitant. After several minutes, they still hadn't said a word.

Jack didn't say anything, but seeing their reaction, he became even more curious. It seemed like they had just discussed something and made a decision, so what did they want to say.

"We want to stay with you."

Wanda said this, and after speaking, she lowered her head. Her ears, which were visible through her hair, turned red as if they were blushing.

Jack was somewhat surprised to hear this from the siblings.

But he also had the same thought.

This was good because it saved him from having to persuade them.

He looked at Wanda, then at Pietro, and asked with a smile, "And why is that? Don't you want to stay at Sokovia?"

"Of course we want to stay at Sokovia, but... we don't have a home anymore."

Wanda recovered from her shyness and looked sad. "Sokovia has been restored to peace because of you. We want to repay you, but we don't have any other skills. We can only stay by your side and help you with things that we can handle."

Repay him?

Jack raised an eyebrow, feeling a bit suspicious. The idea of repaying him seemed to cliché.

But as he looked at the sincere eyes of the siblings, he felt that they might be telling the truth.

After a long silence, he spoke slowly, "Of course, this is actually what I hope for."
