13 13: Agents

After the Date ended Malik drove them all back to the university and everyone entered their respective dorm rooms.

Austin didn't go back into his dorm room though, he wanted to go outside and train his abilities, didn't it outside would probably be better than inside the university after all?

Austin's mana control was now at level 7, he had precise control over it and could even use it almost as if it was telekinesis, he could even lift himself into the air to float for a while, but couldn't do much more after that.

In the streets of New York, a blurry figure could be seen running atop rooftops and disappearing into the night.

Austin's dark cloak fluttered into the cold wind as he moved around like a shadow through the night.

Austin stood atop a rooftop and looked down at the eerie alleyway below him, a bunch of thugs could be seen surrounding a young woman who had been dragged into this alleyway.

Austin followed them and kept his eyes on them, he decided to observe before jumping into a fight immediately like an idiot.

"I didn't expect to find such a beautiful girl tonight," a burly bald man with a scar on his right eye said as he took a puff of his cigar, his muscles bulged as he walked towards the frightful lady who was pinned down by his goons.

Austin looked at the gangster's level, he was strong, but could he compare to Austin?

Before the gangster got any closer, Dozen's tiny lightning arrows appeared around Austin like a gathering of fireflies before they shot toward the gangsters below.

All the gangsters were struck to the ground before becoming paralyzed and passing out due to the excruciating pain.

Austin was sure to hold back his power, scared he would accidentally commit murder here over some gangsters.

"what happened?" the woman sat up and looked at the gangsters who randomly fell, she became even more scared before running away in her heels while clutching her purse.

Austin watched as the lady left before jumping down and running the unconscious gangsters of everything In their pockets using his mana, just in case the police were on their way to arrest these people, he didn't want his fingerprints on them.

A total of around 500$, condoms, knives, and some things that shouldn't be seen.

Austin's eyes flashed with a cold light as he looked deeper into the alleyway with vigilance.

"no reason to hide, come out"

With the help of Austin's mana amplifying his voice the wind in the alleyway was put into turmoil and blew off viciously.

Austin was speechless as he watched three people appear from within a distance, he didn't know how to react because they...

Were wearing suits and ties while carrying suitcases.

Austin could easily make out their face with his advanced eyesight, the first one he saw was the leading man who was bald and seemed to be around the age of 40 but about to enter his 50s.

Phil Coulson, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., behind him were two other agents who Austin could recognize, he only recognized the most famous Phil Coulson.

Phil Coulson walked towards Austin calmly with his hand on his waist, probably holding onto his pistol in case anything went wrong.

"I have no ill intentions of approaching you," Phil Coulson said while raising his hands for a second before putting them back down.

"yet, you are spying on me? And still got caught while doing it" Austin spoke back, he currently had the warding mask on so the agents could see his face.

The agents behind Phil Coulson looked at him in embarrassment, they were known as agents and spies yet they had been found out the moment they got a lead on their target.

Austin wasn't surprised by Phil's level, after all the guy had no superpowers, he was only well-trained in artillery and hand-to-hand combat.

Although Phil was over the level of a lvl 5 human, his level being that way was probably due to his thinking ability as well as his combat power.

"What does the legendary Phil Coulson want from me?" Austin said with a questioning voice, cussing Phil and his agents to look at him in shock.

"You know my name?" Phil said in shock before he became calm immediately.

"That doesn't matter, what do you want from me, speak," Austin said, purposely using his terrifying mana control to cause the air around the alley to fall in temperature.

"seems like I can't hide anything from you," Phil said with a smile while staying composed and didn't seem threatened by Austin's raging aura.

"We were told that there was someone or something with supernatural abilities dealing with criminals, so we came out to investigate," Phil said while looking into the hollow eye-opening of Austin's warding mask.

"since we are already here, can we invite you to our headquarters, you see, we need people with your powers to help keep the world clean as you were already doing tonight" Phil continued.

"no need to worry, we won't ask for your power for no reason, whatever you want you can get it from us, training facilities, money, you name it," Phil said calmly, his face expressionless.

"hmm" Austin pretended to be calm, of course, he would accept their proposal, after all, he needed a background in case he offended any powerful force of supervillains.

not only that, S.H.I.E.L.D. had a direct connection to the avengers which was very useful.

"what if I'm a bad person and kill you right here?" Austin said while gazing at Phil.

"oh come on, you're here saving people on the streets, what will you gain from killing me," Phil said with a laugh almost as if he was amused.

"give me your card, I'll contact you guys tomorrow after I think about it, I'm still a student you know?" Austin replied while relaxing a little bit.

"a student?" Phil repeated in curiosity, he became excited in his mind, he had actually run into a young man with abilities, how powerful would this kid be in the future?

Swoosh!!

A black card was shot toward Austin by Phil, but it stopped a few meters away from Austin after it made contact with his mana shield, Austin reached out to grab the card.

"so, what should I call you? So I can recognize you when you make a call tomorrow" Phil said, almost as if he was confident that Austin would call.

"Just call me Malik" for now"

After Austin's voice faded he disappeared from his previous position.
