65 Chapter 65: Gwen Always Comes to Class Late

"Gorilla" was wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap, chatting with his buddies about yesterday's news.

"Harry's lab exploded, I wonder if he's okay."

"Who knows, I'm not interested in news about rich heirs."

"Flash" Thompson stretched and switched the football from his left hand to his right.

He quickly noticed the T-shirt Gorilla was wearing.

A black spider emblem was printed on the white T-shirt.

Thompson approached Gorilla's shirt and asked in surprise, "Where did you get this thing from?"

"At the Mexican guy's stall, it's cool, isn't it? Spider-Man is a fashion icon now."

Gorilla proudly said, "He's my idol."

Thompson originally wanted to express his disdain, but it turned into, "Can you get me one?"

Gorilla rubbed his bald head, "Sure, but you have to take me to the party in Leeds."

"Are you planning to date a girl, Elizabeth or Gloria?" Thompson looked at him suspiciously, "Or do you want to date Liz Allen? I have to say, you don't stand a chance with her. Not only is she a difficult girl to approach, but I also heard her mother used to date women."

"Of course not Liz."

Gorilla shook his head, indicating he wasn't interested in the student council president.

"I'll agree, Gorilla, but you have to get me two more."

After some thought, Thompson eventually agreed to Gorilla's terms.

As they chatted, they headed towards the classroom.

Peter put his backpack in the locker not far away.

He caught every word of Gorilla and his friends' conversation with his hearing.

After a few seconds of contemplation, he headed towards the classroom.

"Hey, Peter."

He had only taken two steps when an unexpected guest intercepted him.

Liz stood in front of him, holding a flyer.

"Interested in attending the weekend party? The theme is a superhero costume party, everyone is excited about superheroes lately."

Peter glanced at the flyer in Liz's hand and shook his head, "Sorry, I'm not really into superheroes."

Liz persisted, "Maybe you can get some scientific inspiration from such a themed party."

She knew Peter was interested in science, so she tried to appeal to that.

"Probably not."

Peter didn't quite understand why the student council president was so persistent.

"Well, can I invite you for an interview then? My newly created 'Liz Miss Adventures' channel now has over ten thousand subscribers."

Liz's eyes lit up when she mentioned her personal channel.

"The name sounds familiar, right? I borrowed it from the 'Hunter Kevin's Adventures' show, but it's not my favorite. I prefer the 'Carol Teaches Cooking' show."

Peter looked at Liz, who was talking non-stop, and firmly declined.

"Sorry, Liz, I don't like being scrutinized."

"Cough cough, don't rush to refuse, maybe you can take a look at the topic I prepared for you."

Liz took out her notebook from her pink bag, "From resisting campus bullying to becoming the feared 'Grim Reaper,' how about this theme? Many people call you the 'Grim Reaper,' with incidents like Josh's death and your bravery in the hospital, all involving death. I think such a story would be very topical."

"Their deaths have nothing to do with me, Liz."

Peter frowned.

"Then we can skip this topic, we can talk about bullying, starting with the Rumpel case, or the Frick case."

Liz thought for a moment, "Or we can talk about the Fourth District vs. David case, do you know about this?"

She explained to Peter, "George Kramer was the vice principal of Fourth District United High School. He personally cut off a student's hair, and later, he went to work at an insurance company, and in the end, the district paid seven thousand dollars in compensation, well, about a thousand dollars per strand of hair."

Peter interrupted her directly, pointing to the hole in Liz's pink bag, reminding her, "Your bag has a hole."

"Huh?"

Liz looked puzzled at her bag.

The seemingly expensive bag had a scratch at the bottom.

Things inside the bag were almost falling out.

She hurriedly and flusteredly packed up her backpack.

While Liz was packing her bag, Peter left directly.

He didn't feel any guilt about damaging her backpack.

Doing bad things more often, he became more skillful and had no psychological barriers.

After leaving Liz, he walked to the classroom door and saw Harry coming from the opposite hallway.

Harry, wearing an orange turtleneck sweater, had his hands in his pockets, looking troubled.

"Harry."

Peter called out to him.

Harry looked up when he heard the voice and forced a smile when he saw it was Peter.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Peter."

Harry took a deep breath and walked to Peter's side, "Is Gwen not here?"

Peter replied, "She hasn't arrived yet."

Harry took his hands out of his pockets and said softly, "Lately, Gwen has been coming to class late, she wasn't like this before."

Peter looked at Harry's visibly troubled expression, his brow furrowing.

He asked Harry, "Is everything okay with your dad?!"

Although the explosion at the Osborne lab had been widely reported in the media, Peter didn't know what had happened.

But in his memory, Harry's father was the well-known villain Green Goblin, so he shouldn't easily be killed.

"He's still in the hospital."

Harry said, "When the accident happened in the lab, he was there."

"What did the doctors say?"

"The doctors say he's not in danger of life."

Harry said, "Although they say that, his burns are not light."

Even though he had his own opinions about his father, Harry didn't want to see something like this happen.

He even regretted the things he had said to his father before.

"It will be okay."

Peter comforted Harry and then turned to walk towards the classroom.

"Sometimes I feel like such a failure."

Harry suddenly felt a little dejected.

"What?"

Peter stopped in his tracks, looking at Harry intently.

"I always disappoint my father's expectations. I can't become the person he hoped I would be, nor can I help him when he's in trouble."

Harry couldn't help but confide in his friend about his sadness.

"I used to say to you, Peter, that you would become a great scientist in the future, and Thompson and the others would work for you. But what about my own future? I don't know how to become valuable."

Peter just listened quietly without interrupting.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have said these things."

Harry quickly regained his composure, "I have to go back, remember to tell Gwen I'm okay."

Harry stated his purpose for coming to school was just to greet Peter and Gwen, so after a few words, he hurriedly left.

Watching Harry's departing figure, Peter's brow furrowed even more.
