"That is true, Ms Gali was supposed to inform you of that" the man said as he stated leading James into the military facility
"She did, now how is he"
"I would say better but this is a man who has been in war after war, he may look better but God knows what is going on in his mind"
"At least there is progress, soon we should be able to integrate him back into society"
They talked as they passed by a series of glass rooms, some empty, some occupied. The winter soldier was kept here because he had a streak of attacking people and these glass walls were impossible to break unless you had Galactus or Celestial-like strength which Bucky was no where close to.
Approaching one of the rooms which was kept separately from the others and even given much more space. The two immediately spotted a Spartan who was standing guard incase Bucky's programming activates again.
"Sir!" He saluted as he noticed their approach to which the General nodded in reply and James just waved his hand
"What is he doing now" James asked
"Nothing, he's been quiet recently, that's good right?" The Spartan asked since he had no idea how this level of psychology worked.
"No one knows for now, anyway you both stay here, I'm going in" James said only to be stopped by the Spartan
"Sir, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that, that man over their is a Super soldier with way more experience than all of the Spartans combined" he said for James's safety
"Generation 4, that explains it" James said looking at the Spartan's uniform then pushed his arm away and entered the room
"What does that mean?"
"Who do you think trained the first generation?" The general asked with an amused look on his face.
The Spartans may not be available in abundance but they were about 100 of them now in total from their initial 10. With no one capable of exchanging blows with them or keeping up with their overwhelming stamina, James had to step up and take up the position of a drill sergeant.
As they trained, he trained. Basically it allowed him complete his compulsory military service way earlier than normal. After the first generation, the second generation was born but we're trained by the first thus except for those around when the first was being trained, not many people knew about James's incredible physique.
"Kid, your king way more than the cheerful idiot he presents himself as" the General said remembering all the silly jokes James made or all the times, he purposely just found means to annoy him or the others.
James on the other hand, walked towards the glass room with stood at the center of the large space.
"Mr Barnes, how are you doing today" James said as he stopped directly in front of the glass room
Bucky, who was simply sitting on his bed while looking down as though he was thinking about something suddenly looked up at the mention of his name.
"Is Cap alive" Bucky suddenly asked
"Depends on what perspective you want, the answer is both yes and no"
"What do you mean?"
"Well from logic's perspective, the answer is yes after all you have lived this long and you were given a botched version of the SSS serum, Romanova has also lived for this long so yes, he should be alive, from the world's perspective, he is long dead"
"Then what about your perspective?"
