Chapter 13

Max decided to look into the biology of humans because if he got it right, he should be able to make any modifications to his body, since when he turned his whole body into electricity and moved, he was basically breaking down his whole body and reforming again.

Max was done with all his martial arts classes and it was late at night. He walked back to his house and when he was entering, he saw that Lisa and Ana weren't home. Max dismissed it by saying, "They must have gone to work."

Max then entered his house and heard his phone chime, indicating a notification. He saw the message and it was about the money being credited into his bank account.

Max said to himself, "The numbers really look very good. Now, time to start spending."

He then went online and first started searching for a home. He was going to be doing a lot of things and having a home far away from people's eyes was necessary. He couldn't have people uploading videos of Max making clones of himself on the internet.

He looked around and found a huge villa on the outskirts for 2 million and immediately contacted the owner to buy it. The owner agreed to meet him tomorrow and finish the necessary paperwork.

Max then ended the call with the owner and said, "Now, to do the thing most reincarnated do when they get enough money, start investing in companies that will grow in the future."

He then went through all the notable companies he remembered from the movies. Max looked at the companies and said, "Stark industries will be affordable only when Tony announces no weapons. Osborn is also thriving, but he knows that it is breaking down on the inside due to the goblin serum's side effects. There is also Alchemax, which is doing great with their research on spiders and dimensions. There is also Fisk industries that I might take over after defeating Kingpin. These are all thriving companies, I want something that is about to crumble."

He then looked around a little longer and Max then found a company which met his standards, but didn't know if he should be taking it. Max said, "Trask Industries was doing well before the incident of days of future past, which sent Trask to prison and the company now only has a single factory which makes weapons for Hammer industries. Trask is back from prison, but he can't continue his work on the sentinels. This is the kind of company I am looking for, but I don't know if I should take over the company. If I involve myself with Trask, I might become the enemy of the mutants. I can try to talk with him about this after my date week with Carol."

Max then closed his computer and went to bed. He obviously didn't feel fatigue, but he was mentally strained and needed rest.

The next day, Sunday, he got ready for his date with Carol and left his house. He first met the owner of the villa and finished the paperwork, which only took an hour. He had to finish it as soon as possible since the owner was flying to another state that day. So, the owner asked him to complete the registration as soon as possible.

He then flew to Maria's house, where Carol was living. He knocked on the door and Carol opened the door. She looked at Max and said, "Max. I am really excited for this week. I was using this thing called the internet and found a lot of crazy things."

Max smiled and said, "So, what do you want to try first?"

Carol brought out a pamphlet for Disneyland. She said, "I went here with my parents and all I remember is that I wasn't allowed on many rides because of my height. Monica also says they have new rides which are way better than when I last visited."

Max said, "Then we are going to Disneyland today."

Carol then waved goodbye to Maria and Monica. They then took off into the skies, flying through the clouds. Max looked at Carol, whose figure was highlighted by the sun behind her, making her look divine.

Max just stared at her and almost flew into a bird, but managed to avoid it when Carol warned him.

"Pff...hahah..." Carol laughed at Max while he just had an embarrassed smile on his face. They then landed near Disneyland, making sure no one saw them land.

They then walked to the ticket counter and it was packed. Since they planned this on the weekend, it was filled with couples and families with kids.

Max and Carol were standing in the line, which was barely moving. Kids were running around and jumping, rushing their parents to hurry up and get the tickets.

Max smiled and said to Carol, "We should've planned this for the weekday."

Carol said, "What are you saying? It is more fun with people around, except for the long waits though."

Max sighed and they talked while waiting in line. Carol talked about her time with her parents, "Can you still believe that my father thinks I shouldn't be taking fighting. I even showed him my powers. He hasn't changed in all these years. I actually went to meet my brother. He was kind and was super excited when I showed him my powers. We then flew and although he acts tough, he was screaming on top of his lungs."

Then a girl standing before them in the line, who heard what Carol said, asked, "Do you have superpowers?"

Max said, "Yes. Her superpower is to completely ignore her surroundings while talking."

Carol smiled at the little girl, bent down to her and said in a low voice, "Yes. I have superpowers, but you have to keep it a secret. Superheroes don't reveal their identities to others. Can you do that for me?"

The little girl nodded. Then her mom noticed she was talking to strangers and made her stand in front of her.

Max and Carol then talked about things, it was mainly Carol talking about her life in Pegasus, life when she was at school and stuff. Max didn't say much since he couldn't say anything about his previous life and the current one was also not worth talking about. His father left his mother, his wife left him and his mother died. Things he shouldn't be talking to the woman he had feelings for.

They got their tickets after an hour and they entered Disneyland through the iconic Disney castle gate. They were met with the magical land of Disney as soon as they entered. Huge figures of various characters. People dressed as Mickey Mouse, Disney princesses, cartoon themed houses and buildings.

Carol was like a kid, running around to different places while remembering seeing them as a kid in shows or movies. While Max was like the tired dad, who had to keep up with the energy of his kid.

Carol then spotted a few kids taking photos with a man wearing Mickey Mouse costume. The kids had Mickey Mouse ears on.

Carol's eyes glowed. She immediately turned to Max and said in an excited tone, "We have to take a photo." pointing to them.

Max immediately said, "I am fine with photos, but I am not wearing those ears."

Carol said, "Come on. Please." dragging him to the Mickey Mouse and even though he was reluctant to wear the ears, Carol put them on his head and they took their photo.

Carol looked at the photo and was amused by Max's embarrassed look. Carol said, "We are definitely framing this photo."

Max just gave up and followed Carol to the next attraction, King Arthur's sword. There were kids trying to pull out the sword and a few kids leaving disappointed and a few were even crying.

Carol then said, "Let me see if I am worthy."

Carol rolled up her sleeves and went to the sword. She pulled it out without any effort. Carol then called Max to try it out.

Carol said, "Max. You should check if you are worthy as well."

Max asked, "Worthy of what? A fake sword in a park?"

Carol then said, "Just try it once. I am sure that you won't be able to lift the sword after what you said."

Max walked to the sword and tried to pull it and it didn't move. He was sure that the operator heard him and did this. He could pull it out with just his strength and break it, but he didn't want to ruin the day of other kids in the park.

Carol started laughing, "Pfff...hahaha...you aren't even worthy of a fake sword in a park."

People nearby who heard their conversation chuckled. Max and Carol then moved on to the next place, a maze in the theme of Alice in Wonderland. They moved through the trippy maze and Carol was frustrated after taking a few wrong turns and ending up going in circles.

It was Max's turn to laugh. "Pff...hahahaa...the worthy person got lost in a maze designed for kids."

Carol didn't like the maze and said, "I don't like this."

Max then led them out of the maze while constantly teasing her. They then walked out of the maze and Max immediately spotted the Pirates of the Caribbean themed ride and he was excited. He turned into a kid and said, "We have to go there."

Seeing Max excited for the first time since she met him, she agreed, curious as to what could get him this excited.

It had a huge line and Max didn't mind the wait. Carol asked Max, "Is it really that great?"

Max said, "You haven't watched the movie series since they came out when you were on Hala, but they are amazing. You definitely have to watch them."

Carol was genuinely curious about the movie that Max praised this much. After a 90 minutes wait, they got to the ride and it was completely how Max wanted. The set was amazing and the people playing the characters were great.

"Wwwoooowww..." Max was cheering along with many others on the ride. Carol was liking Max excited like this.

After the ride, Max had a bright smile and Carol said, "It was fun."

Max said, "I know right? We are definitely watching the movie series."

They then moved on to other attractions and they took many photos and bought many souvenirs for Maria, Monica and Max bought a few for his only friends he had, Lisa and Ana.

They then ended their day with the famous Disneyland parade and walked out, with their faces full of joy.

They then flew to Maria's house and Carol stood near the door. She said to Max, "I had lots of fun today. I am really looking forward to tomorrow."

Max said, "I had fun too. See you tomorrow."

Max then turned around and flew away and Carol just waited there, looking at Max until he wasn't visible.

She then entered the house and met Monica, handing her the souvenirs she got for them.

Max also returned back to his house and before he entered his house, he saw that lights were on in Lisa's house.

He knocked on her door and after a while, Lisa opened the door, with her dress stained like how he first met her.

Max asked, "Why can't you wear red when you know your clothes will get dirty?"

Lisa said, "It's not that I don't want to, but the color red stands out too much."

Lisa then looked at the souvenirs in his hands and said in a playful tone, "Someone was having fun. Was it a date?"

Max said, "I am not going to answer that. Here, I got this for you and Ana. Where is she? After she moved in with you, I haven't really seen you both alone."

Lisa replied, "She is on a date with a guy she met yesterday."

Max said, "Good for her."

Max then handed her the souvenirs and was about to leave, but remembered something. He then said, "Lisa, I almost forgot this. I now have S.H.I.E.L.D. monitoring me and they should already be aware of you and Ana. I am moving out in a week and you should too."

Lisa wasn't scared or tense. She said, "You must have caused quite a lot of trouble if the S.H.I.E.L.D. are involved. I am amazed they haven't yet sent someone to deal with you and are just monitoring you."

Max said, "They don't have the power to do so even if they wanted to."

Lisa said, "I wonder where the confidence is coming from, but you should know that they have a lot of cards with them. It is better to stay alert. Thanks for the heads up."

Max then went to his house and Lisa looked at Max entering his house. She said to herself, "The S.H.I.E.L.D. huh. He is getting more and more interesting every day."
