CHAPTER 27

In New York, CIA Headquarters.

Three people were in a meeting room on the top floor.

These three were none other than Yellow, General, and Damon.

"The mission failed. Before they could even infiltrate it was over. Zavez is dead, the documents and photos missing, and worst of all we don't know who has them," said Yellow.

"Could it be him?" asked General.

"I don't think so, if this was him the news about our deeds would be going around," said Yellow.

Damon was silent the whole time as Yellow and General were talking. He then interrupted, "Did your team have any description of him? The Aspire Guards should have given a sketch in the least and we can start with that."

Yellow who was speaking with the General heard Damon.

"We will get that within a minute, now what are we going to do?"

"We wait. If it was someone else other than Andrew, they will want to benefit from this and will contact us. We can wait 48 hours and if they do not contact us within that time… then I am sure it was Andrew who killed Zavez and it is him having everything he needs to end us once and for all. He will wait for the right time to attack us and either he dies doing so or we die and will be branded as traitors by the country and even the country will be in a state where people won't even believe the government."

Both General and Yellow were solemn as they heard Damon.

"Andrew will want us to suffer in the worse way possible. I killed his entire family, we branded him a traitor to the country, and the government failed him. He will pay back everything that has happened to him multiple times more to the ones who did it and we will know this within 48 hours. If there is no one contacting us then it is Andrew and he will begin his game."

"We have to be meticulous in handling him. We should create a story of one of us being forced to do what they did and the best-case scenario is Trich. We will set up a story of how her son is in our custody and that's why she had to accept whatever we want her to do. She will be our network and through her, we can eliminate Andrew and whoever is helping him."

Damon finished and let his words sink into their minds.

"Alright," said Yellow.

Though Yellow has the status and Power, it was Damon who was the mastermind but that does not mean Yellow was weak, no he was more cunning than Damon.

Damon's plan was good so Yellow did not oppose and wanted to see how it will go.

"General, it is time you become BlackHeart again, we need to sell the drugs and get some liquid cash. We will need to let go of some money and hire more mercenaries and hitmen. We need to get more reliable men and contact the others and ask them to be alert. Until Andrew goes down no one should meet together including us as well. We don't want to give him an opportunity to end us in one fell swoop now do we?"

As this was going on in one part of New York, similarly there was another meeting going on in SHIELD headquarters between Fury and Maria.

"Natasha and Barton must have went along with him. They turned the Tracking Device off a few hours back and now Zavez is dead. It's Andrew there is no doubt about that," said Maria who was standing opposite Fury.

"Did we make a mistake in giving his tools and equipment? I never would have imagined for him to act after an hour of giving everything he asked for." Fury sighed as he thought about it. He was standing in front of a huge Glass Window as he looked over New York.

"No. We did not expect him to act this soon and I never would have imagined going after Zavez when they were conducting a party to host prominent Business partners."

"Bring in Natasha and Barton tomorrow as soon as possible. I want to know how they did it," said Fury as he took his seat.

Maria was silent which raised Fury's brows and he asked, "What happened?"

"I already asked them what happened."

"Well, why are you keeping it to yourself?"

"They did not act. They were only using the Jet to get Andrew there," the moment she finished she saw Fury's face morph into shock.

"He did it alone?!" he asked in disbelief.

"Apparently," Maria replied. Even she could not believe it when she heard it and confirmed it thrice from both Barton and Natasha. She thought they went in as backup and also wore a mask similar to Andrew but when they said they did not and were in a Shield base she could only accept.

"Both Barton and Natasha landed in a base for a few hours before they departed and I verified it as well," Maria took a breath and continued, "So, we don't know how he did it as well and there is no footage of the CCTV cameras, he must have a device that helped him in stopping the functionality of the camera like a disrupter."

"That will be useful for us as well," Fury said and realized how easy infiltrating missions will be with a device like that for their teams.

"Natasha and Barton did not talk about it," Maria said.

"Ask them to convince Andrew to give us that device. At least he can do this much for us…" Fury said more like commanded.

"I don't think he will and you know why…" said Maria.

Fury's fury rose and said, "If he doesn't let him know I will go to any lengths and it will not be good…"

"Do you want me to say that?" Maria asked concerned.

"I don't want to but he not giving anything in return…"

"He did not ask for any help. It was Barton who took it into his hands to help his friend, a friend who saved his family when they were in crisis. And if you keep doing this and using Barton to get what you want, it won't end well."

Fury knew what she said was true but letting go of a man of that caliber free is the worst thing imaginable for him and how much dangerous it would be. More than that he wanted Andrew to join SHIELD and now he wanted him more. Just imagining Andrew infiltrating Zavez's party and killing him and retreating with no injuries talks about all the skills Andrew has and he would be one of the strongest agents in SHIELD.

"Ask him to give the device and convince him if he refuses and make Natasha do it," Fury said.

Maria got a document from the resource team under her, "I got the images of the aftermath of the mission,"

As she said that she connected her tablet with the Main Screen in Fury's Office. As they went through every photo, they could not hide the shock.

Back to the Time when Andrew used Bend Time for the first time.

In Kamar Taj, the Time Stone which was placed inside the Eye of Agamotto flickered which brought the attention of Wong who was keeping some books on the shelf.

He thought nothing about it but within another few minutes it happened again and this time it lasted longer. During the first time Andrew used Bend Time he stopped quickly and it was only about 3 seconds but the next time he let it happen till it came to a stop of its own.

As Wong was about to call the Ancient One, a portal opened and she came out.

"What happened?"

"I don't Ancient One. I thought it was nothing when it happened for the first time but now…"

The Ancient One took the Eye of Agamotto and wore it. Her head started to move in different directions and she stopped and said, "Interesting…"
