Meeting the avengers and creating magical item(chapter 24)

"Adam!" Blade exclaimed, surprised to see him. Adam smiled as he cast six spinning arrows consecutively, dispatching six more mummies. "What are you doing here, kid?" Blade asked, puzzled.

"Just the usual, getting hunt-" Adam began, but he was interrupted by something blue and red passing by him, knocking down several mummies. It turned out to be Captain America, who seemed equally surprised to see Adam. "Kid, this is a dangerous train to be on," Captain America warned as he fought off the mummies.

"Trust me, Cap, the kid can handle himself," Blade reassured him. Adam continued to fight, casting spells and slicing through mummies with his mana blade. "So, what's with the mummies?" Adam asked.

"Konshu, the Egyptian god of the moon," Blade replied. Adam nodded in understanding. "That explains the never-setting moon," he muttered to himself. "So... like every other Tuesday," he remarked, dodging a swing from a mummy wielding a sickle.

"Pretty much," Blade agreed, just as someone or something blew through the door behind them. Adam was both surprised and intrigued to see She-Hulk standing before him, effortlessly taking out several mummies with a single swipe of her hand. Seeing the unfamiliar kid, She-Hulk asked, "Who is the kid?"

Blade explained, "His name is Adam. He's a young sorcerer." Adam chimed in, "Me cast... spells... good... pretty good." She-Hulk chuckled before continuing to smash her way through the train.

Eventually, they reached a secure compartment where three sarcophagi were being stored. As they opened them, She-Hulk spoke first. "I got Strange," she announced. Blade followed suit, "The Iron Fist is here too." Opening another sarcophagus, he added, "Robbie is out too, but at least he's alive." Captain America's sarcophagus contained a young man as well - the new Ghost Rider. Each of the three sarcophagi contained members of the Avengers, and the team was finally reunited.

In the train, Blade, Captain America, She-Hulk, and Adam were gathered. Captain America was helping Robbie, whose spirit rider had been stolen, while She-Hulk carried Iron Fist and Doctor Strange on big muscly shoulders. Adam stood on the edge of the train track, facing the Avengers. "Well, this is it for me, folks. Good luck kicking Konshu's ass," he said before jumping off, casting the float spell as the Avengers waved him goodbye.

(Scene Change)

In his boat home, Adam was busy using a stable ball of mana as a source of light, drawing several spell circles that used his alphabet as a center to define the function of a spell. Despite his many tries, the spell circles remained unchanged. However, a small piece of good news came: the moonlight that had hung in the sky finally moved, allowing the sun to rise. "Ah, they must have defeated Konshu, gosh its nice having people do all the work for you while you just relax, it would have been pain in the ass to fight the Egyptian god of the moon," Adam thought. He wasn't surprised; heroes tended to win in this world, most of the time, its like they have this halo protecting them, "gosh i wish i had such armor" he sighted. "Well, it's time to continue the grind," he muttered, preparing to increase his spiritual force and level up his spells.

-scene change-

Deep within a somewhat familiar forest, a whooshing sound could be heard as Adam smoothly used the float spell to jump 13 feet up in the sky, landing from tree to tree. Meanwhile, a large crushing sound reverberated through the forest.

"Shit, shit, shit," Adam cursed continuously as he evaded the attacks of a large quadrupedal monster. The creature had distinct bull-like horns pointing forward and a frill of bone on its head, which it used to explode trees into splinters. Its long neck and stocky body sported limbs with long pointy protrusions. The tail of the animal was equipped with two club-like plates resembling axes, which it used to slam the ground, kicking up dust and dirt.

Adam landed on the ground behind the creature, taking out a familiar horn that had once belonged to the moon demon he fought while Konshu was causing trouble and kidnapping Avengers. It had been refined into a weapon that suited Adam perfectly as he aimed it at the creature. Suddenly, an actual spell model appeared on the side of the horn, edged into the horn itself as if it was part of it, the same spell model as the mana bomb. Adam had finally managed to solidify a spell model on an item.

Unexpectedly, however, the process extracted a whole spell model's worth of his spiritual force, leaving him weak and empty. Experiencing excruciating pain, Adam swore he would never attempt to solidify a spell model on an item again. But the advantage it brought was undeniable: casting spells using the newly created magical item did not consume his refined mana, though he still needed to use his spiritual force. This was worth it to adam as he could run out of refined mana, but the world has nearly unlimited amount of it.

Author's Note: Like Doctor Strange said, every spell has a price, and the cost for Adam in creating magical items is a whole spiritual force point. I know some of you might not like it, but I quite appreciate it. It serves as a sort of limiter to prevent Adam (and me) from creating a bunch of overpowered items.

However, will this stop him from creating them? No. Creating magical items has its advantages, such as not consuming his limited mana (which he is going to find a solution for). Although activating these magical items requires his spiritual force, who knows? He might just find a way to power them without needing himself.

Although the reliance on his spiritual force acts as a security measure, meaning that only he can use them since he is the only one in the universe with the spiritual force required to power his spells. This is also the reason why others can't activate his spells. So yeah, magical items are on the menu now, although each and every one of them would be painful to make.

PS: Yes, that was Diablo from the "Monster Hunter" movie.

PS: I watched a TikTok the other day asking, "If you were to meet your character and they knew that you are their creator, how screwed would you be?" Between Oliver, Adam, and Liam (my upcoming fanfic on the Arrowverse), I would say I would come back alive. Although Adam might just break a couple of my bones for good measure (maybe I should send a dragon or two his way), but given what I am about to do to all of them for character development, especially Adam, I might not come out alive if they knew.
