33 shifting focus temporarily and meeting ghost rider (chapter 33)

However, the peace didn't last long. After all, this was a messed-up world, where heroes and villains roamed, where the supernatural walked day and night, where everything could and would go wrong. And it did, in the form of demons—yes, demons. It was surprising how many there were, and boy, were there a lot. To the point where he had to look for a form of detection that allowed him to spot them. A silver necklace with a cross symbol on it proved to be the answer. Of course, he didn't just buy it; he made it from silver. He then donated some money to a church to have it blessed, though he was skeptical about the effectiveness of such actions.

However, the options and descriptions of the item proved him wrong, and boy was he glad he made it, for it turned out to be quite a valuable item.

After obtaining this item, Oliver found himself in Chicago, which, for some reason, was where he ended up. As he had a mobile home, he wasn't confined to one state, but Chicago turned out to be the worst place for him. It was a nest of supernatural entities, and his focus shifted from technique to hunting demons. Yes, hunting demons. He was currently in an alleyway in the middle of the night, standing over a demon with red hide for skin, black eyes, and two black horns. The demon was constantly wailing and moving, but its hands and feet had been cut off by what seemed like a dull blade.

Oliver was holding a new bone sword, which didn't have a hue on it yet but still looked intimidating. Although not sharp, it served its purpose. "Just kill me, you sick twisted monster!" the demon yelled as Oliver had severed its appendages using the dull bone blade made from the horns of the Eldritch Marrow God. Looking at the demon, Oliver then took out the same blessed silver necklace from his waist before placing it on the forehead of the demon. Just as he was about to activate the option on it, he remembered something. "Right, the horns." As soon as Oliver said those words, the demon had a horrified expression on its face, saying, "No, not horns, you fucking bas-" Before the demon could finish, Oliver cut off its horns. "Aghh, you sick fucking bastard, you sick mother fucker!" the demon exclaimed before activating the option on the necklace, exorcising the demon as it exploded into bright light.

This, of course, disintegrated the demon, aside from the cut-off parts. Seeing the light dissipate, he sighed, remembering the first demon he exorcised, a giant 7 feet tall demon with two large front horns and wings with hives. It took 33 minutes to kill, mostly because it regenerated. "I still can't get over the fact that I lost those big horns," he lamented. Indeed, he was vexed about wasting the materials. "Well, what is done is done; I can't be moping about forever," he sighed before picking up the horns, which he quickly placed back into his shell home.

Returning, Oliver was about to walk away when suddenly, a woman appeared, sprinting into his alleyway from the opposite direction, her breathless voice pleading, "Leave me the fuck alone." She had short, fiery red hair, adorned with piercings, and tattoos adorned her face. Her attire comprised a leather spiked jacket and faded blue jeans. Intrigued, Oliver watched as something reached out from the shadows just as she passed by him, urgently warning, "Run!"

Ignoring the woman's plea, Oliver finally glimpsed what she was fleeing from—a bizarre threat in the form of literal flying chains, ablaze with an eerie fire. A demonic figure followed closely, sporting a flaming skull and a spiked jacket.

"Is that...?" Oliver barely had time to complete his thought when the chains suddenly redirected towards him, swiftly wrapping around him. Ghost Rider materialized in front of him, his voice carrying a demonic resonance as he declared, "SINNER." Oliver, momentarily confused, wasted no time. Summoning his symbiote suit, he swiftly activated a skill to eliminate any vulnerability in his defense. After all, he was confronting a flaming demon of vengeance.

As the symbiote suit enveloped him, Ghost Rider's flaming eyes intensified, and the flames surrounding his skull danced like a furious mane. Oliver burst out of the chains, delivering a powerful punch that sent the spirit of vengeance hurtling backward, crashing into a nearby dumpster.

Meanwhile, the woman who had run past observed the symbiote-clad Oliver with disbelief. Before she could express her thoughts, Oliver leapt after Ghost Rider, who was recovering from the impact with the dumpster. The ensuing collision created a visible shockwave through the air as their fists met. Despite Ghost Rider's bony fist, it held firm against Oliver's powerful blow, which had shattered countless T-Rex jaws.

Quick to adapt, Oliver changed tactics, grappling with the fist of vengeance and using the demon's own strength to flip him over. With a swift motion, he slammed Ghost Rider into the ground, creating a spiderweb of cracks on impact. However, flaming chains retaliated, wrapping around Oliver's hand and forcefully yanking him against a nearby wall.

Dazed, Oliver was then pulled downward and slammed into the ground, creating a similar crater. As Ghost Rider menacingly approached, Oliver lay within the small crater. Slowly rising, he walked towards the approaching spirit of vengeance, chains pulling in the opposite direction, attempting to impede his steps. Unfazed, Oliver, now in his symbiote form, continued his advance.

 ------------------------------------------------------------

A/N well, yeah, oliver vs ghost rider, of course ghost rider is stronger, but that is situationally, the ghost rider can get as strong as he could, BUT LET ME MAKE CLEAR, HIS STRENGTH IS SITUATIONALLY, and his durability is high as its stated, "johnny Blaze is highly resistant to the point of being basically immune to all types of earthly physical damage, as he has taken blows from beings such as the Hulk, had his entire skull destroyed and regenerated instantly without any discomfort," SO DONT EXPECT OLIVER TO KILL HIM.

PS: the way that ghost riders penance stares work is that "Whoever stares into the Rider's eyes will see and feel every bit of pain they have ever inflicted on anyone in their entire lifetime for all eternity. As a result, the victim will feel guilt, pain, and trauma. Should the effect proven on the individual be agonizing to tolerate, it will leave them in a depressive state and the possibility of death." but this dependence on his other skill, called sin perceptions, which as its stated in the wiki "Sin Perception: He can determine what sort of sin the individual has committed in their life by reading their mind, heart, and soul. This is greatly enhanced during his reign as king of Hell" meaning that the ghost rider is required to look into olivers mind, soul and heart, and which as i have stated, is IMPOSSIBLE.
