38 Fighting against an eldritch abominations (chapter 38)

It turned out to be a mistake as Oliver suddenly released a dark purple pulse that affected both her and Blade, causing purple lines to appear on their abdomens. The eldritch abomination remained unscathed, but Blade, already weakened, hit the floor. The abomination was about to speak when a shadow passed by her in a flash. She felt something dripping from the left side of her face, and upon touching it, she found her own blood staining her hand.

Hurriedly turning toward Oliver, who wielded the unsharpenable blade, her eyes widened as she whispered, "Jhoatun Lau." which caused Oliver chuckled, responding, "Was that what it was called? I couldn't really tell since we didn't speak much after blowing its skull to pits" Although he spoke arrogantly, his entire body was tense, with only a few traces of mana left. "You will pay for your arrogance!" the eldritch abomination yelled, releasing a torrent of dark energy hurtling towards Oliver.

Sprinting towards the eldritch god, Oliver could feel the strain of the Nullification Guardian, constricting as he got closer, although the nullification guardian was powerful it could be overwhelmed, but Adana didn't need to know that. as Oliver and his nullification guardian created a path within the dark torrent of energy as if he were Moses splitting the Red Sea. Closing in on her, Oliver then took out the trident, armed with one of the most overpowered skills in his arsenal: the Primordial Annihilation. This devastating skill dealt damage equal to 50% of the opponent's health.

As soon as the Primordial Wave appeared, multiple wounds marred the eldritch abomination. Her arrogant demeanor vanished, and she immediately activated some sort of spell. Before Oliver could utilize his enhanced strength provided by the symbiote, the eldritch god vanished. Seeing this, Oliver sighed and thought, "Damn," before groaning, "This is the second time a woman running from trouble got me into trouble." He then turned towards Blade, who was leaning against a dumpster. The torrent of black energy had inflicted some nasty damage, but he seemed to be healing fine. "Next time, maybe I'll just look the other way," Oliver muttered as he left the area.

Inside his shell home, Oliver sat in a lotus position with the unsharpenable blade in hand. His eyes were closed, and his mana was active, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He was in the process of giving the bone blade an option, marking his third attempt of the day. Fortunately, luck seemed to be on his side this time as he finally succeeded. "Finally, I really wanted to know why this blade couldn't be sharpened," he thought, examining the blade's options and descriptions. "Well, that explains it," he sighed in realization.

Seeing the blade's new options, two of the most overpowered options he had ever seen, Oliver remarked, "Well, a lot of demons are going to die, especially that eldritch god." He hadn't forgotten the encounter with the eldritch abomination, which would have ended him if not for the Nullification Guardian option. If he had persisted a few more minutes, Oliver would have been in grave danger, though he would likely have escaped.

[2 weeks later]

In Japan, within a cozy restaurant, Blade sat with two other women. One was a young teenage girl adorned in armor similar to the figure that fought alongside Blade and Oliver. The other woman, of Asian descent, joined them. They enjoyed their meals as Blade began, "I need to kill this... whatever it—" Only to be interrupted by the teenage girl, who said, "Adana." Blade sighed, "Yeah, that." Tulip, the other woman, looked at him and said, "You want a weapon that could kill an eldritch god that you set free?" Blade responded with a curt "yap."

The teenage girl interjected, "And you think because you killed Diado, I am going to put myself in the center of this mess?" Both the teenage girl and Blade simultaneously said, "yap" this time. Tulip sighed, muttering to herself, "Okay, Tulip, this is the part where you run and block his number." However, she decided against it, saying, "Well, I do know of something, but is it really going to be enough?" Blade sighed, "Well, I do have someone else in mind." The others focused their attention, and Blade continued, "After I first fought with Adana and subsequently set her free, I chased after her—"

"That was stupid," the two women remarked. Blade breathed calmly, "I found her, and she was fighting with your brother." Turning to the teenage girl, he added, "And another man." He paused.

"We know; you already told me. She killed my brother," the teenage girl said. Blade continued, "After she killed your brother, the other guy was still able to fight, summoning some sort of a shield that could ignore her attacks and sorcery. He also summoned several bone weapons, two of which managed to hurt her. One of them nearly killed her, judging by the wounds on her body, especially a bone sword that seemed to recognize her." The revelations surprised the two women. The teenage girl asked, "Then why aren't we looking for him? If this man, as you said, has the weapon to hurt her before she could do any more damage?" Blade replied, "I tried. After Adana fled, he also left. He just disappeared, and I haven't been able to track him since." He then looked at Tulip, saying, "I was hoping that you could use your clairvoyance and try to look for him. But just in case, tell us about the weapon you have." Tulip responded, "It might not even exist, Blade," only for the teenage girl to retort, "You believe it exists. I can tell." Tulip asked Blade, "Is short stuff always like this?" Blade answered, "I guess we kinda just met," and the teenage girl added, "I am consistent, and it's my learned way. My name is Rotha," as Tulip replied, "Okay, stop time."

-scene change-

In a dark and cold warehouse, several dead vampires lay in erratic positions, scattered across the floor. The walls showed signs of a brutal beating, evidence of a fierce battle. Some vampires had their mouths agape in an unholy manner, others were missing heads or limbs, but all shared one thing in common—they were killed by the same weapon, a blade. The cuts were so clean that it seemed almost impossible. In the middle of the dark alleyway, a pair of red eyes frantically searched the surroundings.
