Chapter XVIII: Cthon Has Entered The Chat

I was trying to figure out why my other divinities were getting weaker, but my lightning was getting stronger. I had a lot of theories, and I managed to narrow it down to one.

'My speed was given to me by a god, and the lightning came with it. I've found that my lightning is somewhat sentient, and it's always hungry, which is why I've always had these random urges to run in these last ten years.

So I think that the faster I get, the hungrier it gets, and I believe that my lightning divinity is absorbing my Anti-Magic and Hellfire. I meditated on the ground and went to that dark void with my divinities in it.

I called it my "Void of Divinity" clever right? Anyways, they were all here, but it looked like my Hellfire and Anti-Magic were getting slower and smaller, while my lightning was getting bigger and faster.

I observed them for hours, trying to notice any changes in size, when I felt a shift across dimensions. I had a feeling that it was around the dimensional area I monitored to see if Oshtur was near. I also had a feeling that not so friendly things were going on.

I exited my Void of Divinity and used my Cosmic Awareness to project my mind and vision to that dimension. It was a lot of destruction. That garden I saw the first time, was burning. The structures were falling and everything was on fire.

In the midst of all this chaos, Cthon and Oshtur were fighting ferociously. It sadly didn't look like Oshtur was winning. I ran to the field and Agamotto must've felt it too. He can't project himself like I can.

"It's your mother, we have to hurry." He nodded and a glint of vengeance crossed his face. I opened a portal to the dimension and we both hopped through it. We looked around, past all the destruction, and saw Oshtur on the ground.

She was kneeling to catch her breath while Cthon continued to walk towards her with a sword in his hand. He was definitely doing a villain monologue, but I ignored it and made a quick plan with Agamotto.

"You're going to open a portal above him and distract him, while I run up to him and kick him in the gut. After that, you open another portal behind him and hit him. Then we'll start going back to back on combos. Alright?" He nodded and waited for when he seemed the most distracted.

Agamotto opened the portal above his head and I took off. Time slowed down while I ran around. I watched as Agamotto slammed his fist onto the top of Cthon's head and then proceed to get punched away.

I took my chance and dashed towards Cthon. Oshtur and Cthon seemed to be able to track me while I was in "Flashtime", despite that, I was still faster. I jumped in the air and coated my fist in lightning. I saw red and white lightning dancing around with my blue.

My fist smashed into his face and sent him back a few yards. Agamotto got up quickly and did the next part of the plan. He opened a portal behind him and punched him with all the physical strength he could muster.

It made Cthon fly back towards me and while in slow motion again, I could see the irritation and anger rising on his face. I knew this would be the last free punch I can get like this, so I mustered a lot of power into this one fist.

Chi, all three of those lightnings, quantum Magic, demonic magic, and mystic arts energy covered this fist as I slammed it into his gut. I barely pierced his stomach with that punch which made me realize the difference between him, and Aggamon.

Although I only gave him a cut on his stomach, that punch still sent him flying back very far. Another portal opened up behind him and he grabbed Agamotto as soon as he passed through it. Cthon appeared right next to Oshtur and put a sword next to her heart, and Agamotto under his boot.

He was giving me an ultimatum, save Oshtur and let him crush Agamotto's skull, or save Agamotto and let a sword pass through her heart.

This was also a test. He wanted to see how fast I was and if I could save them both. The choice is very obvious, I would pick Agamotto. However, I know I can save both of them. Lightning crackled around me and I dashed towards them.

I kicked the sword out of his hand and pushed him through a portal to Hel that I opened really fast. When I saw him fully in it. I closed it and resumed time.

"That won't last long, what do we do now?" I looked towards Oshtur for an answer.

"I'm not sure what to do next. Maybe we can go to Earth and set up a trap for him." That seemed to be the only idea any of us could come up with, so I opened up a portal to Genosha and we walked into it.

I mentally called for Blaze and Bashenga, they would be needed for this plan. After we finished planning, we went to our spots and waited for Cthon to arrive. After a few minutes he did, and he looked around everywhere. We all hid our scents and energies as well as possible to throw him off, and it looked to be working.

Cthon was in the field, and he was getting circled by Blaze and Bashenga. They roaring and growling at him. Then, Blaze did a particularly loud roar, which signaled phase two of the plan.

I popped out of the ground behind Cthon and started using spell after spell on him to make sure he was trapped.

"Chains of Krakkan." "Crimson Bands of Cyttorack." "Icy Tendrils of Ikthon." "Bands of Bedevilment." "Crimson Circle of Cyttorack." "Dyzakk's Cage."

Those were all of the spells I used which were all infused with my magic and chi. Before he could realize anything, Agamotto and Oshtur proceeded to use their strongest binds and trap magic constructs they could make. Now it was time for phase three.

I ran over to his cage and started infusing my blue lightning into it. It instantly started feeding on the immense powers Cthon had. More lightning kept exiting my body and feasting on Cthon. It was very painful for him.

He kept screaming and demanding to be let out. After absorbing basically all of his energy, Agamotto opened up a portal to the mirror dimension and we undid our restrictions. We threw him in there, closed the portal, and we fell to the floor in exhaustion.

Well, Agamotto and Oshtur did. I danced around in victory. I also felt a change inside my body, I haven't felt this specific feeling since my lightning first became a divinity.

"I don't know how Cthon escaped his dimension. He can only leave if someone in this universe takes the darkhold and take control of them. As far as I know, it's still hidden." Oshtur explained.

I thought about a possible explanation for that when I had a thought.

"Mephisto. He became his little minion allowing Cthon control over his body so he could escape. He was able to still hop dimensions, because Mephisto brought him to this dimension." Oshtur nodded in agreement at my assumption.

Suddenly, a portal from the mirror dimension opened up again. Cthon came out fully powered again, but this time he looked different. Instead of his grey and Ted colored body and large stature.

He was completely red and his head was no longer a head. It was a large fire that had shadows of eyes and a mouth. Not to mention, he grew about 5 times his size.

"Ah shit. Here we go again."
