Clang! Clang! Clang!

Each step of the Destroyer felt like a heavy hammer pounding in Volstagg's heart.

The Destroyer stood before Volstagg, looking down on him from above.

Another hole appeared on the Destroyer's face, and the flames in its chest were about to ignite. It seemed that Volstagg was about to meet his end under the Destroyer's attack.

At this moment, Lady Sif descended from above, jumping higher than the Destroyer itself. With a fierce thrust of her spear, she pierced through the Destroyer's throat.

The flames on the Destroyer's face and chest dissipated, and it knelt on the ground, motionless.

"Thor, is this the ultimate weapon of Asgard?" Tony Stark was bewildered. "It was resolved so easily?"

Phil Coulson and Clint Barton exchanged glances. After all, Thor had described the Destroyer as formidable, and everyone had been thinking about its power. Yet, it was taken down just like that?

"The Destroyer doesn't fail that easily," Thor shook his head. "Sif is in danger."

Thor's words turned out to be true. Just as the flames on the Destroyer had seemingly been extinguished, they reignited.

At the same time, its limbs and face twisted and turned. In an instant, its front and back were reversed.

Originally, Sif was standing on the Destroyer's back, but now the back of its head faced her, while its chest faced Sif.

Whoosh!

In the next moment, an energy beam shot out from its face.

Fortunately, Sif had quick reflexes and managed to jump aside, avoiding harm.

The Destroyer slowly straightened its body, pulling its throat off Sif's spear that was pinned to the ground.

"Retreat! Get out of here!" Sif sensed the danger after narrowly escaping the attack and quickly urged everyone to flee.

However, it seemed that the Destroyer had been angered by Sif's actions and increased its output. Sif couldn't withstand another strike and was forced to flee, leaving her armor behind.

The Three Warriors of Asgard were also in a sorry state. Each of them was in a desperate situation, evading and hiding, unable to fight back.

At first, Thor was well aware of his own limitations, so he didn't become a burden and chose to evacuate the crowd. But now, seeing all his good friends facing danger, how could Thor hide in the background without worry?

"Sif, you've done your best," Thor ran to Sif, who was hiding behind a car.

"No, I want to die here like a warrior," Sif showed no fear. "Today's events will be remembered as a heroic tale."

"Live on so that you can personally tell others what happened today," Thor said solemnly. "Let's go!"

Sif gritted her teeth but ultimately followed Thor's advice, refraining from seeking death and choosing to escape.

"You must return to Asgard and stop Loki!" Thor then ran to the battered Three Warriors of Asgard and urged them.

"What about you?" Fandral asked, supporting Volstagg.

"Don't worry, my friends. I have a plan," Thor smiled confidently.

"Thor, your plan must be a terrible one," Tony Stark felt worried just by seeing Thor's confident expression.

"The truth is, I never make plans," Thor shrugged. "With one swing of my hammer, I can solve any problem."

"But you don't have your hammer now."

"Yeah, so I'm also curious about my own plan," Thor stared at the video with determination.

In the scene, Sif, the Three Warriors, Jane Foster, and Erik Selvig had already regrouped and began to retreat into the distance.

Meanwhile, Thor slowly walked towards the Destroyer.

Not only did he walk, but he also discarded the shield he was holding and approached the Destroyer with his bare hands.

"Wait a minute!" Jane Foster heard the sound of the shield hitting the ground and turned back to see Thor's suicidal act, causing her to stop unwillingly.

The others also stopped, all looking at Thor.

"What is he doing?" Jane Foster asked.

Under the gaze of everyone, Thor approached the Destroyer step by step.

"Brother, regardless of what I have done, leading you astray, causing you to commit these acts, I am sorry," Thor spoke as he walked. "But these people are innocent. There is no benefit in killing them."

The scene switched to Asgard, focusing on Loki, who sat quietly in his armor, listening to Thor's words.

Thor reached the front of the Destroyer, tilted his head up, and met its gaze. He said, "Take my life, and end all of this."

The flames on the Destroyer's face extinguished, its face formed, and it turned around.

Thor thought he had convinced Loki, and a smile began to appear on his face.

"It seems my plan is working!" Thor in the Quiz Space also smiled.

However, in the next moment, the Destroyer turned back around and punched Thor, sending him flying several tens of meters before crashing to the ground, flipping multiple times.

"No!" Jane Foster shouted, no longer concerned about the danger as she rushed towards Thor.

Thor lay on the ground covered in wounds, blood streaming down his face, yet he had a look of relief.

"It's over," Thor said to Jane Foster, who had reached his side.

"No, it's not over yet," Jane Foster vehemently shook her head.

"I meant you're safe," Thor looked at Jane Foster.

"We're all safe," Jane Foster said.

"It's over," Thor closed his eyes.

"Thor, is this your plan?" Tony Stark couldn't help but comment upon witnessing this scene. "Sacrificing your own life? This is not a plan at all. It's simply terrible!"

"Who was the guy in New York carrying a nuclear bomb?" Thor retorted. "Now you're saying someone else's sacrifice is terrible?"

"Thor, our situations are completely different. I can withstand a nuclear bomb, and the people on Earth are safe. But if you sacrifice yourself, how do you know Loki will spare those people?" Tony Stark said. "What if you die and he goes on a killing spree? Then your sacrifice would be in vain."

"Stark, you might be wrong this time," Phil Coulson said.

"Do you believe that Loki is a man of his word?" Tony Stark asked.

"No, what I meant is that Thor's self-sacrifice might be his chance to regain the hammer!" Phil Coulson said.

As if confirming Phil Coulson's words, the immovable hammer in the base suddenly showed signs of activity. It couldn't be moved by a car before, and now no one touched it, yet it soared into the sky on its own!
