6 Waking Up

Lucy looked at Benjamin with worry written all over her face. She did not know that the cost of using her third ability of rewriting reality would be so deadly to her brother! It basically just takes a lot of energy to rewrite reality and now, Benjamin was a husk of his former self as he lay on the bed in a comma! He looked like a dry mummy in an exhibition only, she could feel his mind was in chaos and she had checked and saw his heart was still beating.

"I am so sorry, Benny, I didn't mean to do this," she cried as she caressed his dried cheeks. Benjamin did not give her a sign that he was listening. "I promise I will find something that is going to save you. For now, I brought you a new Dragonball anime issue." She removed a disc from her bag and put it inside the disc player. They were living inside a five star hotel and how they could is because of her telepathy! She found she could do much more now with it that is was scary to her. If her emotions ran unchecked, she could influence thousands of people around her but for some reason, her brother was not influenced by it. She had tried to wake him up for two weeks straight but it was flogging a dead horse!

"The comic book guy told me this is the part where the Good guy fights an alien called Broly. I never understood why they would name their children after vegetables while all the vegetables were grown on Earth and given Earth names!" she complained as she pressed play. She then touched Benjamin's forehead then started relaying everything she was seeing into his brain!

"I hope this helps you," she said and got to seeing the series. Throughout the whole episodes, she did not say a word, only watching and listening to Benjamin, hoping to see whether he would awaken. It was the following day when they finished watching the whole thing and Lucy snuggled next to her brother and fell asleep.

Unknown to her, changes were happening inside Benjamin's body. His body was in need of a power source to rejuvinate itself when she sucked him dry to change reality. Now, Benjamin's mutation is like one never seen before, it makes the body stronger by taking anything that it deems as a good source of power. In fact, Benjamin was quite lucky this time because he did not die. Lucy and him are connected in many ways that seem unnatural. He is the battery, that means he needs to always have power and Lucy is the user of that power through reality bending. Benjamin has to always be charged so he takes powers from everyone he sees and all that is just for Lucy to spend in overwriting reality!

Now, the body was so in need of power right now that it tapped into reserves. When Lucy connected her mind into his and they watched the anime, Benjamin's mind relaid to her's and she did a tiny manipulation and that is introduce one Legendary Super Saiyan cell inside Benjamin's body. From there, it was all Benjamin's body's ball. The cell received the mutation and in seconds, Benjamin's cellsbwere changing rapidly. His physiology changed into the Legendary Super Saiyan's one in minutes then his body was filled with all the reflexes and fighting stances he saw. He knew how to fire ki balls, do the Kamehameha, Gatlin Gun and every other move it saw. Then, the mummified body of Benjamin started filling up and in a minute, he turned into a buff teenager but he did not wake up.

The following day, Lucy woke up feeling warm, too warm. She threw the blanket away and tried to go back to sleep but she felt something was wrong! She opened her eyes and saw Benjamin was not there! Panicking, she got up as her eyes darted around and that was when she saw him standing in front of a mirror staring at his abs.

'Wait, he doesn't have abs!' she remembered as she went beside him.

"Lucy, what happened to me? Did you do this, not that I'm complaining," he said as he touched his arms.

"I was gonna ask you the same thing," she said as she looked at him. "How do you feel?"

"Like I am satisfied even though I haven't eaten," he answered as he flexed. Lucy was flabbergasted by the scene in front of her.

"Do you remember anything?"

"Yeah, I felt like I was gonna die the moment those lights were surrounding us. But right now, I feel like I can give you all the time you need and you are not gonna exhaust me," he said.

"Breaking news; Billionaire Tony Stark has been confirmed to have gone missing during a military expo in the Middle East. Tony Stark is the CEO of Stark industries and one of the brilliant minds of the twenty first century. The military has started a search for him and promises the public to not despair for they are on his trail..."

"Who's Tony Stark?" Benjamin asked Lucy.

"A douchebag," she answered, curtly. Benjamin frowned at how she answered and was about to ask a follow up question but she went to the bathroom. He then remembered she could take care if herself and went back to admiring himself. Twenty minutes later, they were both inside the hotel's gym. Reason, she wanted to know if he was still okay.

"All you want is for me to run on the treadmill till I am tired?" he asked her.

"Yeah, I need to know if you have any hidden injury," she answered. Benjamin just shrugged and got onto the treadmill. He started with a jog and an easy going smile on his face. He felt that he wasn't going fast enough so he ramped up the speed and soon, he was approaching 100 m/hr and the treadmill could not bear the punishment again as it started smoking so he quickly got off as people stared at him as if he was a freak.

"I wanted to go faster," he pouted. Lucy was overjoyed to see he was still okay even after the ideal and he seemed to have grown stronger too!

"We can test just how much you can lift," she said and pointed at the barbells. Benjamin nodded enthusiastically and went to them. He remembered he lifted a bus before he went into the comma and decided to see if he still had the strength. First, he tried the ninety kg but it was too easy. He then kept on adding weights till the bar was too full but he hadn't even started to feel strained! Everyone in the gym was looking at them with wide eyes.

"Shit," Lucy said as she touched her temples. Everyone there became blank for a second then they started doing their own business.

"What was that?" Benjamin asked her as he looked at the people who seemed like they were not just looking at them like they were scared.

"Just, uhm, editing," she answered. "It's good you are fit but we need to get out if here. The cameras saw us and I can't edit that without starting a manhunt."

"Sure, I'm all set up," Benjamin told her and they walked out of the gym. Minutes later, they were both leaving the hotel and headed to a bus station.

"How long have u been asleep," he asked Lucy when they were seated waiting for it.

"Two weeks," she answered. "I'm sorry I did that to you." Benjamin smiled at her and put his hand on her shoulders.

"You didn't do it on purpose, but if you did, that was a dick move," he teased her then looked at the road. "Did anything happen when I was asleep?"

"Why?" she asked him with a scowl.

"I felt like you almost wanted to beat that Tony Stark to death," he said. She shuddered when he said that name and he saw that. "Did he do something to you?"

"Well, when you were in the coma, I was trying to get something over our heads and I had to do some things..." she trailed off as Benjamin looked at her, hard. "Not those kind of things. I was a waitress for two days and that is where I saw him, Tony Stark. He was handsome, classy and a smooth talker and I was touched with the first look. I served him by his request and he talked to me with his smooth lines. By the time I knew what was happening I almost accepted his request to go back home with him." Benjamin got up with a start, his fists clenched hard.

"He made a move on you?" he asked her. Lucy hesitated for a moment before nodding slowly. "He better be dead or I am going to kill him." Lucy got hold of his arm and Benjamin calmed down for a bit. "Did he force himself on you?"

"No, at least he had the decency. But, I quit the following day and I brought you over to that hotel," she said. Benjamin sat next to her then hugged her tightly.

"I'm sorry I was not there when you needed me the most," he apologized to her as he rubbed her back. Lucy shed a single tear as she hugged him back. Just then, four boys got into the shed, looking at them with grins on their faces.

"Hello there, sweetness," one of them greeted Lucy with a lecherous smile on his face.

"You bastards better move along," Benjamin warned them. The boys laughed, mockingly as one of them got hold of Benjamin's hand and tried to lift him, an attempt that ended with failure. Benjamin looked at him like he was an idiot and that pissed off the guy. He swung a fist which Benjamin made no effort to evade and it landed on his left side of his face, making a hollow thud. Benjamin's face did not tilt to the side, he only had a disappointed look on his face.

"So weak," he said then threw a slow punch at the boy who was too shocked to even Dodge it, which was a terrible idea. The sound of bones breaking came before the wails and the crash that rendered all the boys speechless with fear!

"That was too much," Lucy reprimand d her brother who just shrugged.

"Didn't know they were that weak. It was as if the universe just sent them right to us so that I can test my upper limit to human bodies," he said and turned to the others. "Now, will you become willing participants or unwilling?"

"You sick son of a bitch! You killed Tom!" one of the boys shouted at him.

"His name was Tom? How unsurprising. The first one to die is always a Tom. Who's the next guy, Dick?" One if the boys backed away from him immediately. "Hello Dick, my name is Sucker Punch." Almost as if he teleported, Benjamin came in front of him and threw a slow fist which connected on Dick's stomach, throwing him backwards with a mouthful of blood spraying the air. Dick landed next to Tom as he writhed in pain. Benjamin turned to his sister.

"Did I break any bones?" he asked her.

"No, though you might have damaged his internal organs severely," she answered. Benjamin nodded as he rubbed his fist.

"Still too powerful. Damn, just how weak is a human? Both of those fists would barely make me flinch in pain," Benjamin complained. A siren sounded behind him and they all turned to see who was it only to see a red firetruck coming their way. It stopped next to them and four burly firemen got out.

"Something wrong, boys?" one of them asked.

"Nothing, right boys?" Benjamin answered as he looked at the two frightened boys who quickly nodded.

"What happened to these two?" another fireman asked.

"Hit and run, we were just debating on how to take them to the hospital," Lucy said as she scratched her temple. The two boys seemed like they were in a daze for a second before they nodded, fervently. One of the firemen went to check on them and confirmed they were both alive then nodded at his partners.

"We're gonna take them to the hospital. Any of you their relatives, friends?" The two boys rose their hands. "You will both come with me then." The firemen went to carry the boys as another one approached Benjamin.

"I see a warrior inside you, boy. If you are willing, come to this club at eight. When you meet a black big bouncer at the door, tell them you are here for the animal channel then give him this coin. He will give it back and if you are satisfied with what you see, you can always come back. Oh, you better bring money too." He gave them a card and a coin then joined the others. Benjamin frowned and looked at the coin. It did not have a denomination but a bloody skull as the head and two crisscrossed bones as the tail.

"What did he give you?" Lucy asked him and Benjamin handed her the two items. She frowned when she saw them and looked at him.

"Do you want to go?" she asked him.

"I do, besides, where else do we have to be? Also, we can both protect ourselves. We'll be fine. All we need is to find some cash as he said and go to the club," he answered her. Lucy sighed in resignation then nodded.
