61 Chapter 060 Felicia Hardy

Chapter 060

For a second, Felicia forgot to breathe as the reptile-like monster stared at her. The thing's ugly face was enough to make her feel like vomiting, it's skin was green and eyes had a light shade of yellow.

'Am, am I going to die…'

She thought as the Lizard snarled, his claws ripped up a part of their car. It reached for her as she closed her eyes in fear, wishing in her heart to get out of this situation.

But it's claws stopped just as they were about to touch her face.

Felicia opened her eyes slowly to find that the Lizard was looking up from her. Not at her mother but at the person besides her.

'Dr. Rajit Ratha.'

"Help me! Help me! Please…"

He shouted as the Lizard pressed towards him. It picked him up, claws holding his neck as Dr. Ratha struggled to get away from it's grasp.

"Ahhhh!" He groaned as fear and despair filled his heart.

"Ratha… you…" The Lizard tried to speak, fumbling with words. "You made… me… like… this…"

It's grasp on Dr. Ratha's neck got tighter with each of its words. Hatred was well evident in its eyes as it cursed Dr. Ratha for what it had become.

Just because of one man.

Now, it was not gonna leave him alive. For what he has done, he needed to pay the price. Thinking of that, The Lizard moved his claws to cut off Dr. Ratha's neck.

"Stop it! Don't kill him!" 

At that moment, Felicia who was just watching all this happening shouted. She didn't like Dr. Ratha much but she didn't want to see him killed by a monster.

The Lizard stopped and glanced at Felicia, her actions making it fume with more rage. 

Her mother looked horrified at her daughter's action but her body was frozen and she wasn't able to move. The Lizard dropped Dr. Ratha on the ground, deciding to deal with him after killing the girl.

It moved towards the girl as Felicia shrunk down, not knowing what to do.

For a moment, the monster stopped. Felicia looked at him and saw struggle in it's eyes, like it didn't want to do all this but was forced to.

The struggle was only there for a fleeting moment as The Lizard picked her up by the collar and smiled at her gleefully, it's teeth flashing.

She closed her eyes, preparing for her final moment as sharp claws went for her chest. But before it could make a hole in her chest, a shout came from somewhere.

It was Alex who had just reached the Williamsburg bridge.

"Drop the girl, you freak!"

Saying that, Alex kicked at the Lizard's chest, sending him flying and making Felicia fall on the ground.

It rolled on the ground before slamming into a car.

"Are you all okay?"

Alex said as he glanced at the three people who had almost been killed by Dr. Connors.

He recognized one of them as the Indian scientist who was the superior of Dr. Connors in the movie. The other two were a woman and a teenage girl who he didn't recognize.

But the teenage girl looked a little familiar to him.

"Yes, yes… I'm okay." Felicia said, recognising Alex as the famous vigilante.

"Run as far away as you can. As you can see, it's not really safe out here." He said, glancing at The Lizard who was trying to stand up. "Don't stop no matter what!"

Dr. Ratha was the first to run, followed by Felicia and her mother. 

While running, Felicia glanced back to the figure that had saved her with some complicated expression in her eyes. But she didn't stop running.

'It's way more ugly than in the movie.'

Alex thought as he stared at The Lizard in disgust. He has thought that it was due to the CGI that The Lizard looked more ugly than ferocious in the movie.

It looked like it had stayed the same in the real world.

"Rawwwwww!"

The Lizard shrieked as it looked over at Alex, his eyes looking down on him as a prey to be eaten.

It rushed at him and Alex leaped up in the air over The Lizard's charge. Then, he took out his dagger and stabbed it at his back, but the dagger bounced back from his skin.

'Fuck! Why is it so sturdy?'

He cursed in his mind as the green reptile turned back, smiling gleefully. It reved back a bit and attacked him with it's claws which Alex dodged.

While dodging, Alex held his dagger tightly in his hands and attacked as soon as he saw an opening. But surprisingly, The Lizard was way quicker than he thought.

It intercepted his attack and slashed directly at the dagger, claws chipping off a portion of the dagger.

"That thing's durability was really low anyway…"

He thought and threw away his broken dagger.

The Lizard smiled at him, thinking that Alex was weak without his weapon, but he soon proved the monster wrong.

He clenched his fist and punched the Lizard in his face which the monster was barely able to block.

'My martial arts class weren't for nothing.' 

Thinking he has a chance, Alex stepped forward and uppercut it in the stomach with a left, following with a right cross to the creature's face.

The Lizard moved with sudden speed and wrapped a claw around Alex, spinning and tossing him aside.

"Shit!" Alex shouted, getting sent flying through the air like a cannonball, tearing through the road only to get slammed on a car.

The Lizard turned to smile at him.

But at that moment, a ball of webbing suddenly slammed into the Lizard's mouth, making it take a step back. Alex looked up to see Peter in a spandex suit which resembled the suit in the Amazing SpiderMan movie.

"Sorry, I was a little late. Some people needed help."

"It's fine." Alex groaned, rising up. He glanced at the car beside him and tore of one of its doors using his strength, holding it in front of him like a shield.

'I don't have my wolf for protection but this will do for now.'
