32 Zagreus (End)

After defeating Megaera, we ascended to the next level of the underworld, asphodel, which is a hot place full of lava. The enemies we encountered were skeletons and fiery demons, as well as flying crystals that can fire lasers, as well as some Centaurs and Minotaurs that looked like Decomposing corpses.

I didn't use much magic in Asphodel, and Zagreus and I did manual work by swinging our swords like an Asgardian and an Olympian trying to escape from the underworld.

We encountered several distinct enemies as well, like Arachne, who was able to control spiders and fire nets from ... However, there was also the Hydra, and his fight wasn't easy, he could grow extra heads every few minutes and spit out a poison that could melt Rocks from its mouths.

It was a tough fight since we had to be wary of the poison and cut off the heads of the hydra separately in the least possible time, I had to use magic shields often in order to protect myself and Zagreus from the poison.

Upon defeating the Hydra, I got a sample of it venom for later study, and upon asking Zagreus how he had defeated it alone before he told me that he was dying against it every time, and the only times he surpassed asphodel was when Kratos was the one guarding this place. .

Kratos was the Olympian god of strength, he died before and stayed in the underworld, of course Zagreus is just a chthonic god and could not defeat the god of strength, Kratos would always let him pass.

After that was Elysium, the Heaven of Heroes, where we had to fight some soldiers from ancient Greece, and some heroes like Achiles and Theseus and asterios before we could rise to the next level, Asterius was much stronger than the regular Minotaur while Achiles possessed superhuman durability, But it is just superhuman for humans.

So with our chests pumped like a chicken, we advanced to the next level, the Erebus which is the last floor before the River Styx, our exit from a hellish dimension called the Underworld.

Fortunately I did not go out into the depths of Tartarus when I came to the underworld, otherwise I would have to fight an endless number of evil spirits for what remains of eternity.

In Erebus we fought a few monsters that we had previously encountered, in addition to the Gorgon Queen Medusa who let us pass after giving her my meals.

The biggest obstacle would have been to beat Cerberus, but we started with a sudden attack and I was able to drop a few curses on him, which weakened him, of course he had magic resistance because he is a divine beast, but the curses affected him to some extend.

Because of this we could take advantage of his low intelligence and wild fighting style in order to manipulate him and gain an advantage, before entering into an exhausting battle we could have won because he was getting more tired with my curses.

In Styx River, Charon did not attack, he did not even speak, but after being given some Olympus silver coins he escorted us with his boat towards the dense fog.

Upon entering the dense fog and waiting for a few seconds, we exited the other side where the river was not made of blood and not everything was foggy and dark, as I began to feel my divine energy again, when looking in the back there was no Styx River.

It looks like we went out to the earth, or midgard.

Charon drove us to the side of the river so we could go down on land, and this is what we did, and I thanked Charon for his services before I let him leave.

" this is the surface ...!" Zagreus, looking around, especially the sky, said with amazement and a smile on his face.

Seeing this, I couldn't help but smile too, the underworld was worthy of its reputation as a hell dimension, I can only imagine how Zagrius would feel upon finally going out into the normal world, and the fact that I'm a reason in this gives me a sense of achievement as well.

"You can relax at last, I can't help but imagine your joy," I said to him as I pulled him up to sit on a nearby rock, I wasn't tired thanks to my ring but he was, we had been fighting in extreme conditions for several hours after all.

"Yes, I think so too… By the way, thank you." Zagreus said as he reached out to me. "Without you, I wouldn't have been able to do it, I don't know how, but I will pay this debt one day."

"There is no reason...." I said to him while I shook his hand, while I looked around to look for Athena but I couldn't find her, I said unconsciously, "She said she would be here ... that's strange"

Zagreus was about to say something but before he could do it, someone appeared tens of meters away from us.

Seeing him appear out of nowhere, I immediately remedied the situation and put on the Mind Acceleration and Parallel Processing to the limit.

This person was Hades, 1.96 meters tall with gray eyes and black hair, despite having a baldness on his scalp, and he wore a metal helmet and armor made of Adamantine.

I recognized this armor immediately, it was famous for being indestructible.

"If you are looking for your girlfriend, I should disappoint you, she is still a bit late for your date," Hades said in his hoarse voice sarcastically but slowly.

I wanted to tell him that she was not my girlfriend, and that this was not a date, because I was sure that she would not like this talk, but I decided not to do it, because he might make fun of it again.
