38 38. Cleaning Up

"Sir, we found subject 3052."

A man saluted and reported. Infront of him sat a middle-aged man with a beard.

He looked up, "Where?"

"Two blocks north."

The man frowned, "Didn't we have Jackson in that area?"

"Sir, we lost contact with Jackson."

A peculiar expression took over the man, "What else did you find?"

"Subject 3052 was accompanied by a man and woman. The man's name is Adam Jason, the woman is Elle Rose."

Tapping on his chin the man thought out loud, "Where have I heard that name before?"

After a while he ordered, "We can't have any loose ends, kill them and bring her to me."

"Yes, sir!"

Just when the reporting personnel was about to leave a hand came out of the shadows and snapped his neck.

The man was shocked by this sudden accident. He immediately went for his gun, however that shadow was already beside him. His hands were firmly held down.

A pair of blood red eyes focused on him. He lost his sight and limbed on his chair.

"Give me the location of your men?"

Adam's asked coldly.

The man was already caught in a genjutsu. He spilled out everything. Adam memorized everything and killed him. He burned the two bodies and left no trace.

Standing on top a building Adam looked out towards the dark streets.

Poof! Poof!

Dozens of shadow clones emerged beside him.

"Kill them all, leave no trace."

The shadow clones disappeared into the night. Adam closed his eyes and disappeared.

"You lost contact? When?"

A man wearing a military uniform stood with his back facing several men. He was looking through a glass window, behind the window was table surrounded by men and woman.

A body laid on the table, they were cutting into that body. Several instruments and tools were orderly placed beside them, recording and displaying everything.

"Yes, sir! Procedure is to contact every four hours for status report. It's been six hours, sir."

The man in military uniform asked, "What happened?"

"We don't know, sir. The surveillance was destroyed and the bodies are missing."

The military man thought for a second, "Who were they after?"

"Subject 3052."

"Flame Demon?"

The man frowned.

After a while he said, "Let it be for now. Charles and the Mutant Brotherhood has already caught on. Move everything and burn down the rest."

"Yes, sir!"

Adam's Restaurant.

Watching Wendy run around the restaurant trying to clean up the tables put a smile on Adam's face. He never had a family in his last life, he always wondered what it would be like to have one.

He was lucky to be reborn into a loving family and now, he somehow got a sister.

Suddenly he thought of something, "Mom, don't you think Wendy should go to school?"

Georgia was preparing an order when she heard him, "Hmm, you are right. Considering her age she should be in junior high, but we don't know if her knowledge is upto standard."

Adam waved his hand, "That's alright. I will test her."

William chuckled from the side, "Take it slow, she is pretty comfortable here. Let her get used to this."

All of them turned around, Wendy was seriously wiping the tables with Frank. Some regulars teased her from time to time. This put a smile on everyones face.

"That's shocking, isn't it? Who ever thought Tony Stark would grow a conscience."

A regular smirked. Adam heard and looked at a piece of news on his phone.

"Tony Stark exits from the weapon industry!"

Like in the movies Tony held an interview as soon as he got back and announced the closing of Stark Company's weapons division. The news was quite a shocker for many in the field.

Adam followed every piece of news nowadays. He really wanted to see the completed Iron Man!

Just as he was about to place an order the news broadcasted a piece of information.

"Unidentified object spotted in war zones!"

Adam didn't need to guess what it was. He was elated and pumped his fist inside his mind.

Looks like I need to make a visit tonight.

Tony was doing some small adjustments to his new invention when a shadow peeked out from behind.

"What the f*ck!?"

Tony has a scare. He threw the small spanner in his hand subconsciously.

"Nice reflex, Tony."

Adam with his fox mask emerged from the shadow.

Tony cursed out, "What the f*cks wrong with you!? Don't jump on me like that!"

Adam shrugged, he walked to the suit of armour placed on a raised platform and couldn't help but get excited.

"You significantly improved on that piece of work!"

Tony proudly smiled.

Adam rubbed his hand, "Can I try it?"

Tony immediately refused, "No way! I don't want to share the same suit with a man. More importantly, how the heck did you get in? Jarvis?"

A mechanical voice sounded through the basement floor, "Security systems show no breach."

Adam shrugged, "I am a ninja, if I can't get sneak into a top secured building then I am shaming my profession."

Tony rolled his eyes.

Adam still asked, "Come on let me try it once."

Tony shook his head, "No means no. However when I have a spare one I can lent it you but..."

Adam was open to negotiation, "Out with it."

Tony smiled slyly, "You have to show me that thing you did."

Adam knew Tony had immense curiosity. It's no wonder he would be interested in how sealing works.

Out of nowhere Adam asked, "What are your plans for the future?"

Tony thought for a second and shrugged, "Don't know."

"By the way, where is Yinsen?"

Adam had nearly forgotten about that kind old man.

"Oh, I pulled some strings and got him a licence. He is busy with the renovations, that old man wants to work as soon as possible."

Tony shook his head with a sigh.

"I told him I could build him a hospital and let him be the chairman. I even told him he could operate the entire hospital as charity but he still refused."

Adam patted his shoulder, "Some people have their own dreams, Tony. This is what he wants."

Tony didn't reply for while and then smiled, "Yeah, you are right."

Adam turned around to leave but he stopped and said, "Tony, are we friends?"

Tony raised an eyebrow, "Where did that come from? Of course we are."

Adam merged into the shadows and disappeared but he voice rung out, "My name is Adam."
