17 17. Overwhelming

Peter immediately found a vacant corner and changed into his Spiderman outfit. As soon as he got out he spotted Connors running straight towards Osborn Industries.

People were scared. Like headless chickens all of them ran around, this only created more confusion and panic.

Peter was fast enough to pull some of them from being stomped into a meat paste. He then directly attacked doctor Connors.

"Spiderman!!"

Peter stood against Doctor Connors and spoke sincerely.

"Doctor Connors please stop this."

"Stop?...

Connors smiled cruelly revealing a set of razer sharp teeth. He picked up a bike nearby and threw it at Peter. Peter casually dodged it but his spidy senses warned him of imminent danger.

Without a second thought he jumped up dodging a lamp post that flew past where he was. It penetrated deep into the truck behind him.

Peter had no choice but to go all out. He jumped around Doctor Connor's trying to bind him. Last fight made Connors realise his mistake, he didn't stand there and take hits, instead he threw out anything he got his hands on.

A fountain was near them and stones the size of a bucket was at it's base. Connor grabbed them and threw it at Peter. The force behind each throw was enough to turn the stone into powder as soon it crashed.

If not for Peter's spider senses he would have already been heavily injured. Seeing this go nowhere Peter decided to go for broke and closed the distance between them.

Connor's was waiting for this, his tail took a swipe at Peter who nimbly dodged it. He used the tail as a support and planted his feet on Connors face.

The kick was strong enough for Connor to take a step back. Peter immediately used his webs to bind Connors neck and tried to wrap him up.

Connor didn't fall for the same trick again, he tore off the web and clawed at Peter. Barely dodging the attack Peter continued to hold down Connors but the strength behind Connor's claw was strong enough to tear through his web.

Connor was getting angry. He was here to make the world realise the importance of his research and this insect was blocking his path. He tried to break away from him but those annoying web always got in the way.

Trying to find another way to get away from this nuisance Connor spotted a little kid across him. A cruel smile surfaced his face, Peter didn't sense any danger yet his blood ran cold seeing that smile.

Connor picked up a large stone carving on the fountain and threw it in the little boy's direction. His mother saw the statue coming at them and paled. She held her son behind her and closed her eyes.

Peter wanted to step forward but he was too far away. He used his web to pull it out of the way but the force behind it was too strong.

The crowd closed their eyes. None of them wanted to witness the death of a mother and a child.

1 second... 2 second... 3 second

But the expected crashing sound didn't ring out. They opened their eyes to witness something shocking.

A man wearing black clothes and a black fox mask revealing only his eyes stood before the child and his mother. His right hand held above him, holding up that statue.

Adam threw away the statue and turned around. The woman still had her child behind, he silently channeled his chakra into their bodies and calmed their nerves.

"You are safe now."

Adam's calm voice woke them up.

The woman snapped out. She wiped her tears and thanked Adam repeatedly. The boy however was watching Adam, his eyes held curiousity.

'Hmm...

Adam was surprised. He then realized something and took off his mask before giving it to the boy. Surprisingly he had another mask on his face.

The boy held the mask like a treasure and ran over to his mom. Adam laughed lightly and turned his focus on Peter.

Peter stood across him silently, Adam could imagine the dumb look behind that mask of his. He walked over to his side and bypassed him before walking inside Osborn Industries. Peter snapped out and immediately followed.

While Peter was busy trying to save the mother and child Connor sneaked into the building.

"Hey! hey! I know you, you are that guy who's been taking out criminals around here. Wow man, You literally cleaned up this entire place you know, apart from small time thugs there aren't much crimes in these parts nowadays."

"That's just awesome! But do you really have to be cruel and disable them for life. I mean that's against the law."

Peter started to talk.

Adam was obviously familiar with him otherwise he would stuff his mouth with sand to shut him up.

They entered the building and found the place in a mess. Guards laid unconscious on the floor, employees were huddled in a corner shivering from fright.

Adam sped up. His body went up the stairs in a flash and within seconds he had already gone up several floors. Peter stood below with a blank expression.

Holy crap! How am I supposed to do that?

Peter stared shocked at what happened. Begrudgingly he ran up the stairs.

Adam walked through a narrow corridor and arrived at a lab. The doors were pried open, he walked in and saw the place in a mess. A large monster was standing next to a machine inserting something into it.

Hearing footsteps Connor looked back to see a man wearing a fox mask stand next to the door. He looked at the time on the machine, it showed two minutes.

Without even considering anything Connor attacked Adam. He threw a heavy machine next to him and attacked closely behind. Adam dodged the attack only to be greeted by a huge claw.

"Die! "

Adam was calm in the face of danger, he was like a floating feather. His body slightly moved, the claw that was supposed to tear off his head brushed past his nose.

His sharingan flared locking onto Connor. Everything around him seems to have slowed down, Connors movement felt as slow as a snail to him.

His right palm caught Connor's head before slamming it hard into the concrete floor.

"Settle down."
