10 Not dead?

Kayla is a Japanese-Russian lady. Her father was Russian and her mother was from Japan.

As for why she became a military professional and gunsmith, it can be said to be her hobby.

In Zod's opinion she is very beautiful with a superb figure.

"The inspection is done."

Kayla put the Desert Eagle's back in the box after making sure everything was perfect.

"I've heard that the desert eagle usually malfunctions a lot, but I haven't had any problems. Is it because of the way you modified it?"

Zod took the box and said with a smile.

Kayla has heard a lot of compliments because of her beauty, but a handsome guy like Zod makes Kayla satisfied when she hears them.

Especially the strong chest muscles and abdominal muscles that Zod unintentionally shows off. The windbreaker is not especially tight, but it's enough to see his figure.

This figure is the most popular in Krypton and Earth, comparable to the ancient Greek sculptures that show perfect muscles lines.

Of course, Zod's figure and appearance are actually similar to Dante Nero from the Devil May Cry series.

"The reason why the Desert Eagle has many faults is because it was originally meant to be a shotgun [TL: ???], which cannot support the high-intensity combat of soldiers at all. It's also ridiculously expensive and cannot perform well in harsher environments with sand, dust, and water. It will cause them to malfunction, so I put a lot of thought and effort into modifying them. If you like them, I would like to see how good you are at using them."

Kayla said with interest.

"No problem."

Zod nodded, and the two went to the 10th floor of the Midnight Hotel. This is a free shooting range with a lot of open space. Many of the assassins have different rooms within to test their weapons without prying eyes.

This is the first time Zod had visited this area, so Kayla opened a room for him.

"Do you want a moving target, or the high-speed target?"

She stood beside a row of buttons on the wall, and asked Zod, who had yet to put on noise-cancelling headphones.

One of the disadvantages of the Desert Eagle is that the sound is too loud when it is fired. Although you can put a silencer on it, Zod refused because it is too ugly, so Kayla can only modify it to make the sound a little softer. [TL: even if you put a silencer on a .50 cal it is still loud enough to be heard in a half-mile radius.]

"High-speed target?"

Zod knows what a moving target means, but he doesn't understand what the high-speed target means.

"The high-speed target is a tennis ball. A certain number of tennis balls are shot at the same time. The tennis balls will bounce off of the floor and walls, however most hitmen won't choose this mode because it is too difficult."

Kayla said. After all, there are many hitmen who can shoot precisely, however fast and small targets like these make it exponentially more difficult.

"I'll do high-speed targets."

Zod put on the headphones, and then Kayla pressed the button.

"Counting down, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"

Three tennis balls flew out of some holes in the walls.

At this moment, Kayla noticed that Zod pulled the guns from his waist at an unimaginable speed.

Bang Bang!

Two gunshots sounded at the same time, and Kayla noticed that Zod's hand was very stable after the shots. So stable that it looked like there was hardly any recoil and the remaining tennis ball was finished off with one more shot.

Zod's gun drawing and shooting speed was exactly 0.02 seconds, which is an unbelievable number.

"Your gun speed is so fast…"

Kayla now understood why Zod was able to make a headshot, because he drew and fired his gun so fast that he didn't need to aim at all. [TL:???]

"However, since you have such a fast speed, you should use a revolver instead of a pistol."

Kayla immediately analyzed that the revolver would be easier to use for drawing from the holster and aiming. Until today she believed that revolvers were outdated.

The Desert Eagle was too slow un-holster and re-holster, and the revolver would make a smoother shooting experience.

"I'll stick with the Desert Eagle."

Zod shook his head.

"…Well, I will modify it according to your speed and situation to make the trigger pull better and not affect your accuracy."

Kayla respects the customers choices.

The trigger pull will become short, so there is no need to squeeze the trigger which affects the accuracy.

After a few days of rest, Zod took on a new task again. Since he has time, why not make more money? After all, soon he will be so strong that making money will no longer become a challenge, and then it will become boring.

This time the mission is to kill a man named Deacon Frost. [TL: ring a bell anyone? Lol]

A reward of 3.5 million USD. This reward is one of the highest and means the target is as powerful as the others like the Hellfire Gang or Jett.

Zod just looked at Deacon's photos and location then set off. If it were another hitman who accepted it, they would spend months preparing for the mission, like finding the target's schedule, planning the escape route and so on, to make sure there is no mistake.

As usual, Zod used the express service of the Midnight Hotel and arrived in New York City.

Zod was solemn, coming to this city that will become the most chaotic zone of the Marvel World.

The current Stark Industries headquarters is still in Los Angeles and will soon move to New York City. Zod can't remember who the first superhero in NYC was, he only knows the official number of superheroes that eventually stayed there. There were at least 6000 superheroes and although most of them were street level, it is still an exaggerated number. It feels like if all of them came out, villians wouldn't even dare raise their heads.

Fortunately, it's still a very ordinary city now without superheroes.

He also found his target easily. It seemed like there weren't bodyguards around him. Zod followed him into a noisy dance hall with tile surrounding all sides and people dancing around crazily. The unbridled and loud music inside made Zod's ears hurt so he adjusted his super senses to be able to hear normally.

The most pleasant thing that happened while he was sunbathing recently was that he awakened his heat vision. Although it is not as powerful yet as Clark's when he was at his prime it is still an improvement to his survival chances.

Deacon kisses with a blond woman on the dance floor for a while before going into the bathroom. Zod follows in and finds out that it is only Deacon inside sitting in a cubicle on the toilet.

Zod goes in and draws his gun out directly.

"Boom!"

The loud noise was directly covered by the music outside, and Deacon fell to the ground with a bullet hole in him.

Zod holstered his gun and was about to leave, but a sudden gust of wind came from behind. Zod tilted his head to avoid the fist and turned quickly to see Deacon completely intact and setting up for another attack.

His speed was faster than a human and his strength made the sound of wind from his fist explosive. Zod dodged twice and pressed one of his pistols to Deacon's chest.

Boom!

With a loud noise, a big hole exploded where Deacon's heart is and he fell to the ground struggling.

Zod looked at Deacon. After it looked like he died, he suddenly got up and pounced at him. Normal people would probably not be able to react in time, but Zod reached out like lighting and grabbed his neck.

"Vampire?"
