129 Chapter 128: Hope

Hearing my Father's words, I merely furrowed my brows before floating out of my chair; approaching him, I landed beside him and looked out the windshield, staring far into the endless ocean before glancing back at him.

"What if I don't want to be a beacon of hope? I've lived with humans for 16 years; I can hear roughly the entire planet; next to nothing can escape my ears; I can hear all the bad they do-" Stated Pharaoh seriously as he looked at Von, who suddenly interrupted him.

"But does the bad outweigh the good? If so, then that's an even bigger reason to show the humans make the error of their ways and to light up their path." Remarked Von as he looked back at Pharaoh, causing him to frown, though he wasn't given the chance to respond.

"However, if you don't wish to, it's not your job to. Your mother and I sent you here so you could choose your own destiny and not end up like any other Kryptonian with a predetermined goal. If you wish to help these humans, then do it; if you don't wish to, then don't; it's your decision; no one is telling you what to do." Added Von as he placed his hand on Pharaoh's shoulder, looking deeply into his eyes.

"Heh, tell that to my Mom. Though, I don't know; I don't mind helping people in need; in fact, I quite like it, but acting as a beacon of hope? That's just not me; I can't see myself being someone like that." Said Pharaoh with a smirk before shaking his head and gazing out the window, envisioning Superman looking at him.

"Maybe you're right, maybe you're not that kind of person, and that is fine, but have you ever given it a chance?" Asked Von lightly as he removed his hand from Pharaoh before looking out into the ocean.

"No."

"Then go out into the world and give it a chance; take a leap of faith." Declared Von as he suddenly turned around and toward a metal capsule, which suddenly opened up, revealing a suit.

Seeing my Father leave, I turned around and looked at him before following behind him, only for him to stop at a metal capsule, which suddenly opened up, revealing an all too familiar suit, though it was different from what I remember. Instead of the blue and red color scheme, as I remember, it was instead gray and white, though it still had its cape. The shoulder, forearms, knees, hips, groin, and feet were all white, along with the symbol on the chest and the cape, while everything else was gray; despite not being red and blue, this one looked far better, in my opinion.

'Though, that might just be because I wouldn't have looked good in red and blue.' Mused Pharaoh lightly as he gazed at the suit before reaching forth and touching it.

Despite how hard it looked, it was rather soft to the touch and a little stretchy as well; granted, a normal human wouldn't have been able to stretch it.

"What's this made out of?" Asked Pharaoh curiously as he raised his eyebrow while brushing his hand atop the symbol on his chest before glancing at Von to his right.

"A plethora of some of the strongest and most durable Kryptonian metals that were smelted using a specific method that granted them a unique level of elasticity. Try it on; it's too big to fit me." Replied Von lightly as he looked at the suit before glancing at Pharaoh, who was still wearing the shield attire.

I would be lying to myself if I didn't kind of want to wear it, so after hearing Father, I didn't hesitate to strip myself of all of my clothes before grabbing the suit, only to look at my Father since I didn't know exactly how to put it on.

"Do I just stretch the neck and force it on, or is there another method?" Asked Pharaoh in slight confusion while standing in the complete nude as he gazed at Von, who nodded.

Although I found it weird that's how you wore the suit, he did say it was elastic, so I pulled the head, and despite it feeling like it was going to snap apart, it didn't; quickly wearing it before it actually snapped, I put my legs and arms in before fixing around my neck.

'Now I know how Superman wears his outfit; that was always something I was curious about.' Thought Pharaoh lightly as he looked down at his suit, which hugged his body like a glove, accentuating his every muscle, causing him to look truly massive.

"You've got a mirror or something?" Asked Pharaoh as he marveled at the softness of the suit before stretching a little.

At my words, the capsule the suit was stored in suddenly spun around, revealing a mirror as I looked at myself, and I had to say, I was looking quite sexy.

'Damn, I'm for sure about to take someone's bitch looking like this.' Mused Pharaoh with a smirk as he flexed a little, showing off his large arms and massive thighs, causing anyone to think he was on steroids or other enhancement drugs.

"Do you know what that symbol stands for?" Asked Von lightly as he looked at Pharaoh through the mirror.

"It is the Kryptonian language; it means hope." Added Von as he glanced at Pharaoh, who just finished admiring himself in the mirror.

"Hope, huh? Well, I don't mind giving that whole beacon of hope thing a try, but don't expect it to work out. Anyways, why did what happen to Krypton? How did it explode?" Questioned Pharaoh with furrowed brows as he intently looked at himself in the mirror before shaking his head and glancing at Von, who simply frowned.

"A plethora of reasons, ignorant leaders, lack of resources, infighting, etc. However, I believe the biggest reason is that we lost the ability to choose our lives; after the Civil War, our once great empire that spanned an entire galaxy collapsed. After the Civil War, our population was minuscule compared to what it used to be, so instead of giving birth normally, we created artificial breeding pods, which greatly accelerated the birth of Kryptonians, with selective genes." Declared Von, showing a rare form of emotion even though he was merely faking it as he furrowed his brows.

"Artificial breeding? Do you mean those weird pods I saw on the ship? Isn't this thing super old? How long ago was this civil war?" Questioned Pharaoh with widened eyes, surprised at this revelation.

"Yes, this ship was one of the thousands of outpost ships we had, though after the civil war, when everyone was recalled back to Krypton, it was forgotten about. The civil war happened roughly 27,000 years ago, and with the creation of artificial breeding, our society began to recover, though only on the surface, unknown to our ancestors, we were slowly destroying ourselves from the inside." Remarked Von with a nod as he walked around and brushed his hand across the command center with the liquid metal before glancing back up at Pharaoh.

"I'm assuming the explosion of Krypton was what sealed the deal?" Asked Pharaoh curiously as he picked up his other clothes and tossed them in the trash, which instantly incinerated them.

"After we used up all the energy stored in our core, we were left with mere days before our destruction; thankfully, you were born before then. However, unlike every other Kryptonian, including your Mother and I, you were birthed naturally, which granted you the freedom to choose your destiny, just like you're doing right now." Stated Von with a nod.

"I see; well, thanks, I suppose; being free to choose is a privilege I never want to be taken away." Said Pharaoh with a slight smile as he leaned against the wall while glancing at Von before suddenly looking to his right.

"Well, it was an informative talk, but my Mom's beginning to wake up, so I've got to return home; otherwise, she's probably going to get angry with me." Added Pharaoh with a wry smile, though his words prompted Von to wave his hand, causing the side of the wall to suddenly turn into a door and open up.

"Take this, and I shall see you again, Zara." Said Von with a nod as he floated the command key to Pharaoh, who grabbed it out of the air and floated towards the door, only to turn around suddenly.

"Oh yeah, can you make this thing invisible? Like cloaking?" Asked Pharoah curiously as he glanced at Von, who snapped his fingers, causing the entire ship to blend in perfectly with the environment.

Flying out of the ship, I looked back, and to my surprise, I saw nothing, absolutely nothing, which was the first time I'd come across something I couldn't see through, well, except for that murky water, but let's not talk about that.

'Well, Krypton is hella advanced, so I suppose this isn't too surprising.' Mused Pharaoh as he wore his suit before turning around and suddenly shooting off into the sky, causing all the trees on the island to shake intensely.

Flying through the sky, I looked up at the sun, and for some reason, I felt the urge to fly higher, and so I did, shooting off higher into the atmosphere even faster than before; I quickly left Earth behind as I entered the void of space, and just floated there, bathing within the sun's rays.

'Ahh, I've got a feeling something is going to happen now; I just don't know what.' Thought Pharaoh lightly as he stared at the giant ball of fiery gas nearly one-hundred million miles away before suddenly smirking.

So, with out Mc finally donning his suit(which looks like the cover picture) will he succeed in become a symbol of peace for the world? Or will he fail and come to terms with the fact that he is not Superman? Only time will tell, and if you want that time to quicken, make sure to give me them stones!!
