"NO! SISTER, WATCH OUT!" There was a shout, but no voice came out. 'H-Huh?!' Lich suddenly wakes up calling out his little sister who was supposed to get into a car accident, but unknowing to him, he had himself positioned right in front of it while pushing his sister to the safe side. 'D-Did I just died? I must have, otherwise, I would be waking up in a hospital instead of a colorful place like this. This is actually quite a beautiful sight.' 'I wonder if Grace is going to be okay. Dad and mom were having difficulties with money while I was away studying in China. I hope they get through it..' I could only sigh when remembering my family's dire situation. 'There really is nothing that I can do to know nor am I able to go back to Earth like this. Now that I think about it, my body seems to be suspended in the air but I cannot feel any of my limbs. I can't even sense how much time I've spent like this, hopefully, something happens after a while.' 'What a strange feeling, although the scenery in front of me is everchanging in different colors since I'm in some kind of space, I don't feel like I'm moving at all but my perceptions tell me that I am slightly doing so.' "!?" Suddenly, the space in front of him started to collapse, creating a massive fracture that extended miles away from his field of view... ___________________________________________________________________ Updates: Any day of the week, not yet decided. 'Let's see, no body, I can't speak, floating in fucking space. Well, shit.'
.
.
'I'm dead.'
As if our protagonist hadn't had enough, Lich's life is ended by a massive steel structure whose sole purpose is to run over someone's entire body, namely with the bright word that is a truck. And now he's swimming aimlessly through a vast space adorned with colorful, mysteriously forming stars, galaxies, and other shaped elements. He had no idea his cause of death would be the infamous truck-kun!
He was just getting started in life. What if dying at the age of 20 is a bad omen?!
At least he managed to save his little sister, Grace, from being hit as well.
On a monday morning in the United States, Canada, a newborn baby was blessed with the terrible naming of his parents in a hospital. Jane was the mother's name, and Dillon was the father's.
Surely, his parents had to have suffered some kind of rare type of brain malfunction when they arrived at the hospital to give him birth. Who in their right mind would name their child "Lich"? What about the more common names out there? Frederich, Jonathan, or even Carl, any of these would be good enough!
As a result, when Lich graduated from high school and went to China to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor, he changed his name to Liang Long. Although it sounded cringe having "dragon" on his name. But why? He despised his own name with all his heart! It's not that he didn't love his parents, no, that is not it.
When his friends invited him to hang out, they would say things like, "Hey man, what's with the Licherous smile?" or "I wish I could be as LICH as you." He didn't mind at first because he knew they were just joking around with him, but then they started forming even more intrinsic sentences that almost made him want to beat them up.
(A/N: *dies of cringe from bad joke*)
As a result, he made a point of changing his name while in China, even though no one there would understand the significance of such nonsense about his name. Although some random guy with a gray jacket and red shirt stopped him once in a street and called him a failure and disappointment out of nowhere.
'At the very least, those two idiots will no longer bother me.' Liang Long chuckled and sighed as he recalled the antics of his small group of friends, which included two men and one woman. Carol, the girl, was Liang's love interest, primarily because she had helped him with his daily life in high school almost every day, as his previous school had taught him little to nothing due to his poor family background, thus making the teachers look down on him.
Even if she did tease him about his name, it wasn't as bad as his two other friends, Franky and Daniel.
In any case, Liang had no idea how to bully their names, at least not with Franky. However, in recent years, while watching videos on YouTube, he came across a meme that made him laugh nonstop like a madman for an entire day. He made a video call to Daniel and exacted his revenge by showing him the video.
'Fun times. That meme made me laugh so hard. Damn Daniel ar ar-pfft hahahahahahahahaha.' Even though he couldn't make a sound, Liang Long had a good laugh while floating through space.
His life was ordinary, like any other. He had lost himself in the worlds of anime, manhwas, manhuas, and many other things while he was away from his parents and sister. Liang Long was a huge fan of classic works such as One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, HunterxHunter, Death Note, and others. But it was the fighting scenes in anime that he enjoyed the most. These even motivated him to go hit the gym frequently after his studies.
Most of the fights he enjoyed came from cultivation novels and manhuas. He found exciting the way these people fight each other, even if they go through a lot of suffering and it is a whole lot bloody compared to animes.
What Liang Long didn't expect was that when he returned to see his family and friends, Carol had a taste for anime and comic books as well. As a result, the two of them talked about the many works they had seen, discussing powers, character psychology, and even the greatest antagonists ever created.
He was truly worried that Carol would not like him back after she knew he was sort of a weeb, but it turned out she had a great time hanging out with him, even watching them at each other's houses. Things moved quickly, and they started dating.
However, life is cruel, and after roughly a year, Liang Long was involved in an accident with his younger sister, one that resulted in his death.
'I wonder if Grace is going to be okay. Dad and mom were having difficulties with money while I was away studying in China. I hope they get through it.' Liang Long sighed as he prayed for his family to be able to support his little sister as she definitely saw her brother getting hit and his body being totally dilacerated from the impact caused by the truck.
'There really is nothing that I can do to know nor am I able to go back to Earth like this. Now that I think about it, my body seems to be suspended in space but I cannot feel any of my limbs. I can't even sense how much time I've spent like this, hopefully, something happens after a while.'
It was true, Liang Long had no idea how much time he had spent traveling around. He didn't know if he was drifting in space like this when he died, because he appeared to "sleep" and "wake up" after hours or even days, making him unable to tell if he was awake at all times.
'What a strange feeling, although the scenery in front of me is everchanging in different colors since I'm in some kind of space, I don't feel like I'm moving at all but my perceptions tell me that I am slightly doing so. I wish I could leave this place.' He didn't feel comfortable at all. It felt as if he could move his entire body, but whenever he tried to, it just remained the same.
*Crack*
'Eh?'
*Huuuuuum*
'What the hell!?'
In the distance, the space in front of him suddenly began to collapse, as if the universe was trying to get rid of him. A massive pitch-black void crack appeared out of nowhere, spitting out gaseous blue particles and attempting to engulf everything nearby with its abnormal suction force. The small tear grew larger over time, which is why its power is increasing. However, the crack did not remain stationary while expanding, instead, it waved like how a string would bend if you applied momentum to any of its extremities.
'Oi oi, hold on. I didn't mean it to literally erase me from existence!'
When Liang Long noticed the unexpected event in front of him, he appeared to come to a halt because he noticed the crack was too far away. What puzzled him even more was that he could clearly hear the sound it was making, even though he was so far away.
While Liang Long was contemplating the strange bend in space, an elderly figure emerged from the other side of the crack. His condition wasn't great, as he could be seen panting heavily and clutching the right side of his waist. If you looked closely, you'd notice the gaping hole he had in it.
"Huff, huff, it really worked!" The old man said this while brimming with excitement, thinking he had escaped his calamity.
He was dressed in a purple hanfu that reached all the way down his legs and deep blue baggy pants. He also wore the usual red martial artist shoes. While his face was filled with dread, his sharp white beard and hair appeared to be composed of steel, they seemed to give no movement when he moves around.
"H-huh? This place... Don't tell me it's-" He paused and returned his gaze to the entrance he had opened.
'How come the passage didn't close as soon as I exited it?' Fuck!' The elderly man couldn't help but curse his own good fortune. As a result, he braced himself for the worst.
Not long after, another person emerged from the crack, this time an extremely handsome man with long hair that reached his broad back. His face was solemn as he looked around.
When he saw the injured old man, his eyes became cold, making him even more domineering as he stood still at the void crack's entrance. The young man had black hair with blue strands in the middle and beautiful golden eyes that shone brightly under the starry sky. He wore a dark blue hanfu with gold stripes down the sides. His inner chest area clothing was white, with a long blue cape stretching to his back, blue gauntlets with golden parts on the ends, and a slew of other attachments to his shoulders and waist protector, where it was supposed to be a sash.
(A/N: Hanfu is traditional chinese folk clothing, but it has been modified for some reason in wuxia and xianxia novels.)
'Huh? Are my eyes deceiving me? That person is unmistakably Zhou Yuan! What in the world is going on?! 'How on earth did he get here?!' Liang Long was so stunned and surprised that he almost believed he had been hit by the entire landmass of the Earth rather than a truck.
Not to mention that the Zhou Yuan he laid eyes upon wasn't the same as the manhua he had read, but was far more mature and overwhelmingly powerful, as he could feel his aura even from afar although he had no cultivation.
'This Zhou Yuan is obviously from the future. The current manhua character is still in the Divine Dwelling Stage. Fortunately, I had already finished the novel because I didn't want to wait for half a chapter every day. So, based on his appearance, he must be the Zhou Yuan from the end of the novel, which means he's already at the God Realm!'
'However, what is an existence like his doing here? Is it due to that old man? If I recall correctly, he remained in his world while Yaoyao was being reborn. If he's here, it means she's been reborn. So, why isn't she here with him?' Liang Long was perplexed because he knew from the novel how much Zhou Yuan loved Yaoyao, to the point of fighting a war against an entire race full of monsters known as the sacred race. Although he did it for the sake of the survivability of the human race, his primary motivation was her.
'Normally, I would label him a simp, but the love story is compelling enough for me to overlook that. I had been accompanying that novel for nearly a year, and I almost cried when it ended.' Liang Long sighed then nodded to himself after finishing his thoughts.
After some intense staring between the old man and Zhou Yuan, the latter finally started to speak.
"Old thing, do you think you'll be able to get away from me after trying to hold my wife hostage in your sect and even threatening me to let you go or else you'll refine her into a pill for yourself to eat?!" Zhou Yuan spoke with obvious anger in both his face and voice.
"In all honesty, I wasn't expecting my trip to the outside world to be this fast-paced. I dealt with danger on every star I went to with Yaoyao. Fortunately, I had guessed your plans when you invited us to repay Yaoyao's kindness to your troops when dealing with those demon pirates." Zhou Yuan sighed, his eyes flashing with a glint of murderous intent, ready to attack the elderly man with everything he had.
The old man looked at Zhou Yuan with rage and a bit of regret, thinking that dealing with him as his wife would be as simple as taking candy from a child, but he never imagined that Zhou Yuan was already in the same realm as him.
"If you have already guessed, then why bother with me? Just go on your way already and let this matter rest as it is. You have suffered nothing while my sect is being trashed to the ground by that little girl! Isn't this enough?!" Wu Han, the elderly man, shouted as he clutched his right side and coughed every few seconds as blood flowed from his wound and mouth.
While listening to this old man's heinous words, Zhou Yuan's rage was almost at an all-time high. He clearly had bad intentions for him and Yaoyao. So there was nothing else to talk about.
"Talk whatever nonsense you want, it'll be the anniversary of your death from today to next year!" Zhou Yuan raised his hand and summoned a black-colored brush with golden adornments, it had milky white strings that appeared to be as soft as hair. It also had ancient mysterious runes on one side, and they all seemed to glow brightly, displaying the amount of power that each of them possessed.
'That's his genesis weapon, the Heavenly Yuan Brush, an innate divine rank item that evolved with him when it absorbed the Ancestral Dragon's skeleton as he broke through to the God Realm!' When Liang Long saw the massive, beautiful brush, his eyes lit up. He couldn't help but stare in awe at it.
(A/N: Definitely didn't want this to sound gae.)
Wu Han looked at Zhou Yuan with hatred when he saw that he did not want to hear him out. 'Damn it! I should not have gotten myself involved with this lunatic!'. He could only stare at Zhou Yuan with an angry look as he swiftly summoned his spear to fight to the death with him.
"Boy, don't think so highly of yourself! You've only recently successfully entered the #%@&*@ realm! Do you truly believe you're capable of defeating this Godking!?"
Zhou Yuan simply smirked, his face contorted into a massive grin.
"I'll never know unless I try, right?"
Because there is no sound in space, Liang Long could hear everything they said from afar. He now understood why the two of them were fighting, but he had no idea why they had appeared in this specific location.
'Am I in some ancient place in the "outside world" that Zhou Yuan is currently exploring? But how on earth did I end up here? And what am I doing here? I won't die again as a result of their fight, right?' Liang Long gulped with trepidation. He was befuddled because he didn't understand his situation.
(A/N: Trepidation= fear; Befuddled = confusion.)
"What a fitting place for your death. I didn't expect you to have the means to tear space open and teleport to the Primordial Chaos Origin Star Sea. I've only heard of it in myths, so the fact that it actually exists is somewhat surprising." Zhou Yuan spoke with emotionless eyes that would give anyone immediate chills.
"This place is extremely unstable because the laws of this space are minimal to nonexistent, rendering it lifeless. It was said in ancient texts to be both the beginning and the end of everything. Not to mention that there will be no burial grounds in this location. Truly, a fitting end for you." Zhou Yuan spoke while charging at the old man, lifting his Yuan Brush and performing a half-circular motion with his waist, while his weapon slowly moved to his side and remained at his back, while Zhou Yuan approached his opponent, ready to deliver a left swing attack, targeting Wu Han's wounded side.
"Hmph, you still dare to be so haughty. Don't worry, this Godking will make sure that after you die, I will collect your body and give it to that little girl so that she can reflect on her mistake of messing with this Godking!" Wu Han snorted coldly, mocking his opponent while grimacing at his own thoughts. He accelerates as well, performing a flawless dance with his spear as he prepares to block Zhou Yuan's strike and pierce his heart right after.

Liang Long watched the battle ahead of him with wide eyes, preparing himself to survive the certain impending doom that might end his life yet again, but this time, he knew that if he didn't hold on to his life, he would definitely die and it would be game over forever!
'...'
'Life sure is fragile.' Liang Long spoke with a clear hint of sadness.
