Monsters from myth and legend began to appear everywhere from dimensional portals called Rifts. That was when mages, once a secretive society that lay hidden in the modern era, emerged forwards, lending their help. Since then, mana has become so commonplace that most of the world is born with it. Many choose to now seek riches and fame by becoming 'Rifters' that dive into these Rifts to hunt monsters and find great treasures within them. In this world, those without mana are shunned. They are deemed worthless. Alexander Lin comes into this world with no mana. He is rejected at every turn of his life and works only as a lowly porter, carrying equipment for proper mages.
