1 Opportunity of a Lifetime

(1'st person POV)

I look at the old man before me who offered a chance to transmigrate into the universe of Martial God Asura albeit at a price.

I heard,"I can give you some wishes to go with your reincarnation but when you have enough strength you have to do a task for me. I assure you it won't be easy. After all this is an equivalent exchange."

I look forward to my coming adventures in the new universe as Chu Feng but first, "I accept. Could you give me a few minutes to think?"

The benevolent old man sitting across from me nods his head saying,"sure".

Alright now l have to think carefully about what I should ask. I shouldn't be too greedy as the difficulty of the task that he gives me later would be proportional to that. One would think of things that would benefit in the long run but not me. Hmm...well I guess I got a good idea.

I finalise what I want and propose it to the old man.

I want a spirit treasure that allows me to fully refine my Ruler's Bloodline.

I want a 3 cultivation resource that I can use to increase my cultivation level by a single level Dragon transformation sensation.

I want a treasure that allows me to undergo divine lightning affliction myself without any external help and also acts as a protection formation for once.

He thinks for a while and asks me," It's doable but I have a question. I can understand the utility of your third choice but the first and second are only useful for immediate benefits. So, why?"

I smile and answer, " It's simple actually. Chu Feng already has a lot of cultivation resources which he cannot use because he is weak. Not to mention his bloodline power itself is ridiculous and he still only comprehended only a little of it. As for why the spirit treasures, it's simple. Because of the void sacred tree. I can definitely increase my spirit cultivation one step at a time but in the position chu feng is right now he needs all the strength he can get and his cultivation can suddenly drop to true immortal because of the clash between the void sacred tree and his heavenly bloodline."

And then again with that unnerving smile, "One last thing you may hate me for this in the beginning but you'll understand that I did you a favor"

"Huh? What are you talking about old…." and everything went blank.

Well I did not expect this ..hey I see the light again where am I?

I watched my surroundings and witness as chu feng enrolls in the Azure Dragon School. Wait this was not the timeline I wanted. The peculiar thing was I can feel myself witnessing this and yet "I" was also somehow experiencing this along with chu feng. The realisation hit me then and understood what that old man meant. For the first time I was literally scared during this whole ordeal. This means every pleasure and more importantly pain that chu feng experiences, I would also have to experience until my desired timeline. For a guy from 21'st century earth who greatest physical pain was an arm fracture this is a going to be a terrifying journey. But I gritted my teeth and tried to strengthen my shaky resolve but to no avail.

Thus began my agonising journey through the lower, ordinary and upper realms. As much as I hate to admit it the old man was right. Right now I fully assimilated into chu feng and that was not all. I found out that through the process my own soul continued to grow until it became almost as strong as chu fengs'. I mean his soul at age 10 was stronger than mine to begin with so.

But the amazing thing is by the end both our souls merged strengthening the original soul by almost twice which greatly enhanced my already monstrous comprehension in both martial and world spiritist techniques. It's like I went through the whole process twice. Right now I was like a diamond hardened by ages of compression.

Chu Feng became me and I became Chu feng.

It was at this moment that my body and recent memories caught up to me. Right, I came to help the Sea immortal specifically her student Wang Yuxian to enter the formation so that I could get the natural oddity for my master. I thought I would feel different but other than my heightened perception nothing else. I look to my right and yes I observe the entrance to the spirit formation.

I motion the entrance to her and said, "There. Go that way and you can find the opening. Once you go in it would depend on you."

She was surprised and said , "So fast. Are you sure?"

I shrugged my shoulders and said," Yes. It's not that hard to find. You should go in first."

I wasn't bragging or anything it wasn't really that complicated to find. Anyone who has reached my level of spirit power can find it. But I guess it's harder to find someone like that who is also a junior and is willing to go through the whole face deformation. I am going to cure it pretty soon anyway.

She nodded and went to the place I pointed out and found the entrance. I could see it in her face that she was surprised.

(Wang Yuxian POV)

'I knew he was a talented world spiritist but that was really fast. Even with our overwhelming strength difference I could never do it.'

Anyway I have to seize this opportunity and not disappoint my master.

(Chu Feng POV)

Well I want to check my wishes but it shouldn't take her more than a few hours so I'll wait for her to exit that formation. I have almost three months anyway. Plenty of time for cultivation.

As I expected she came out in a little over 6 hours or as she called it '3 double-hour' damn skewed metric system.

I knew she would succeed but anyone could tell that from the happy expression on her face and from what I could tell he aura increased. She broke through to 2-rank Martial Exalted. More importantly I could tell her bloodline strength has increased. One more thing I gained from that soul merge was that I could estimate the strength of bloodline of people who strength is around mine. While her strength is a lot superior I could still sense a portion of her bloodline.

I smiled and said,"Looks like you succeeded. Congratulations"

She smiled back although a little sad at the same time and said, "I did and only in about 3 double-hours."

'Ah. She must be feeling a little guilty about my deformed face and will you look at that she even brought those fruits just like in the story. Man this girl is coddled by her master. Geniuses are not made in greenhouses. I am 35 years old and she must be younger than me and yet I can bet anything she hasn't faced even a tenth of the suffering I have gone through. "What are those fruits that you got there?"

She passed me some and just like I expected they did have a curing affect on my face. Well if I ate these fruits for 10 straight years I might cure my condition but I don't have that much time.

She was slightly relieved and was about to go bring more fruits but I stopped her and said, " While I appreciate the fruits I had a sudden comprehension and have to go into seclusion. I also have some cultivation resources that I have to refine. It won't take more than the designated 3 months. But if you see me in pain it means it is working so don't try to wake me up."

She was confused but nodded nonetheless. Disturbing ones' cultivation was a taboo for any cultivator.

I went a few ways away and sat cross legged before checking my dantian first. Just like I expected there it was the 3rd treasure I received. It looked like and ancient plate. I could tell there was something odd with that but I had more pressing issues to deal with so I came out and went inside the world spirit space and I found what I was looking for. There were four spheres. One with suffocating aura, in my case withstandable and three identical spheres. I could already guess their functions.

I prepared myself mentally for the upcoming pain and started refining the ancient orb. As soon as I started without my control it directly fused with my rulers bloodline and then I felt it. The same soul shattering pain I felt in that formation of grandmaster Tang Chen but many time multiplied over and after what seemed like eternity and right at that moment where I though I couldn't hold it anymore a wave of soothing feeling hit me. All that pain was replaced by a warm comforting feeling and I could feel myself getting better.

What I did not expect was that I have also broken through to 3rd level Dragon Transformation Sensation in the process. That was definitely a pleasant surprise.

I checked my spirit power and that's when the real shock came. The amount of spirit increased but the sheer quality of the spirit power was mind boggling. I knew it from the novel and I also experienced it in Hundred Ordinary Realm. But it was like it was the sovereign of the spirit power. I finally understand what Xianhai Shaoyu said about my mother inducing fear even in the older generation with her spirit power alone. This will be an enormous boost in power. I will be almost invincible in the same realm even when competing with those geniuses of overlord level powers.

I could also for a moment feel the depth of the formation that my mother placed on me as it was working towards restricting my now released bloodline. It succeeded but still I could feel the power still there. Well she must be worried I would be discovered if I exerted my bloodline. With the addition of my bloodline and the saint dragon cloak I can now exhibit 8th rank Utmost Exalted level of strength.

Now it's time to consume the other resource. I thought for a while and finally decided to only consume one of them and leave two for later. For one it will only get harder and harder as we ascend and the other two could be useful in higher levels. The other reason is 5th level Dragon Transformation Sensation is like a watershed and I want to cross it on my own. I will explore that place where I first met Ox-nose and maybe there are some opportunities.

(Wang Yuxian POV)

'It has been almost a month since he started his seclusion. I observed him from a distance so that I wouldn't disturb him. But he seems to be in constant pain and it has gotten worse in the last few days. I know these fruits won't bring him much benefit but it feels wrong for some reason so I will collect as many fruits as possible.'

But suddenly her senses went haywire and the source of the disturbance was chu feng himself. There was no longer any pain in his countenance and the next moment his whole body glowed like a sun emitting a very sacred ray of light. Even if she wasn't a world spiritist because of her special constitution she could feel the terror from the bottom of her very being. In a few seconds the light dimmed and everything went back to normal.

Only then did she stop holding her breath. This was the first time she encountered something like that. Even that power that she grasped from the formation wasn't even close to this feeling of suppression. With her experience she could guess that it was the power of his bloodline and that left her shocked. But her shock only increased by what happened next. Suddenly with chu feng as the source an extremely powerful wave of spirit power burst forth. When she sensed the strength of it she was once again shocked as it was a 1st rank Martial Exalted.

1st rank Martial Exalted what did it mean? It means that he has achieved Dragon Transformation 5th level. He who is a junior reached the level where it would make him a peak World Spiritist even among the juniors of Nine Soul Galaxy. Not only that but that spirit power that he was releasing was way more powerful than what she had seen from other world spiritists of the same level. Even she was only able to more freely because her cultivation was a level higher.

However she could tell clearly that if she had the same cultivation as him she would have been suppressed by the spirit power alone. No matter what skills she used her chances of defeating him were almost nonexistent. This was a heavy blow to her pride but when she looked at him now along with respect there was also awe. She immediately wanted to ask him what happened but held herself back. It was at this moment that chu feng opened his eyes.
