19 Suddenly Rich

The Floating Cloud Sect had loose rules but some were so strict that nobody would even imagine to breach them . One of them was the distribution of resources by the sect . The sect may be rich but they were too careful when handling their hard fought resources and the rules were completely just .

For example , Raven spent more than two days in cultivation and did not take his prizes but nobody dared to have an eye on them . At least until the disciple has gotten the reward from the sect , nobody would think about stealing them . After that threatening and killing for resources was common because who does not want money and resources ? To the people who have discarded their morals , stealing was the best way to earn money and they felt no shame from doing so either . But Raven would not deliberately steal from others except the times when they have provoked him .

Raven stabilized his cultivation and did not manage to advance further as he realised that the scripture for Martial Disciple Realm was useless in Martial Master Realm . So he had no choice to just fortify his foundation and read some books at the same time .

He leisurely walked towards the General Pavilion where disciples can take missions and redeem all types of rewards and prizes . He now wanted to quickly get his prizes and report to the Inner Court afterwards as there was no point to continue staying in the Outer Court now after he had advanced to Martial Master Realm .

All the passerby gave him looks of respect and reverence which made Raven feel slightly uncomfortable because he was not used to such treatment . Back on earth he was normal existence and many only a few people remembered him . Still he tried his best to endure because he knew that he had to get used to such treatment soon because his fame will continue to rise in future .

He arrived in front a normal looking white building but it was huge . Rows of disciples were lining up outside waiting for their turn to enter inside . This was the General Pavilion where every disciple can take up missions and earn sect points which is the currency for almost everything inside the sect . Raven did not bother linig up because nobody dared to force him and even made a path specially for him . Prestige was really important sometimes .

Under the gazes of countless disciples , he entered inside the building and a huge hall greeted him . There were many large boards hanging on the walls where missions numbering in thousands were placed . Disciples surrounded those boards while looking for suitable missions for themselves. Some people had formed teams while some were alone but all of them had serious looks on their faces .

Raven ignored this scene as it had nothing to do with him right now . He walked towards the counter where an Elder was seated to redeem his rewards .

" Elder , my name is Raven and I would like to trouble you to hand me my rewards . " Raven politely asked with a small bow . He could feel that this Elder was even stronger than the Gambling Elder from that day .

" Hoo.. So you are Raven . Okay , take out your identity token and let's transfer your rewards quickly then . Ah.. Young Man , you are in for a surprise now .."

Raven was confused by the last line but shrugged it off as he was feeling impatient right now . Soon the Elder took out a big token and muttered some words . The token started to shine for a second before returning to normal . Raven was fascinated as he was reminded of the magic moves from back on earth.

He impatiently looked at his own token which was shining in a bright light and some words were being shown on the surface . He was flagbustered by the sheer amount of Sect Points because other rewards were fine but this number of points was too much more .

He quickly calmed himself down to analyze the situation . He does not remember doing favours to someone who would share points with him and he could not think of any other reason . Because points were money and no one would share money unnecessarily with someone either . He had no choice but to ask the Elder because he remembered him mentioning something about a surprise before.

" Elder , this .. "

" Hahaha.. Cough .. No need to think deep Son because this is your own money. That Mark told me about your gambling.. Oh.. Mark is the name of that old man who actually allowed gambling with sect points without the permission from Sect Leader . Anyway you earned more than 10000 points from just initial 5 points and Young Man , you are quite a celebrity in our Elder circle now because this much profit is unheard of . "

Raven was completely stupefied because Elder told him that there was something called Rate in the gambling like 1 to 100 or something which changes all the time . Raven was a dark horse so nobody believed that he would win anyway so for the initial matches , his payout was too much that he earned thousands of sect points from just one match

. For the honest Raven who had never gambled before in his 2 lives , this information was crucial . He was confused now whether to feel happy or sad .

He was of course happy because he became rich but sad because he did not know about rates and foolishly displayed his might during the matches which caused the rate to drop from 1 to 100 to 1 to 1 during the final round . If he knew that then Raven would definitely have done something like acting weak to maintain the high rate during the whole tournament. The saying Knowlege is Power turned out to be too right in the end ..
