20 Inner Court

Raven could be said to have a cold personality because he does not smile much especially in front of others and is always thinking something so frowns could be seen on his face all the time . But the same Raven had a huge smile hung on his face and was whistling happily while sometimes skipping on the road .

He became rich and this was first such experience for him in two lives. He had been a researcher but money was barely earned and he had to try really hard just to get some jobs at research teams . It was the first time he was in the possession of so much money that he had no clue how to spend it all .

But his mind was set to eat the most expensive food in a restaurant with the most expensive wine regardless of the cost for one time . The food in this world was too delicious and Raven was a fan of wines too . Maybe he could learn the art of wine brewing in this life because with the limited resources and time in his past life , he had to crush that dream himself .

Soon Raven arrived in front a huge gate which was more than 30 meters tall and 10 meters wide . The walls were painted white and the colorful door depicted a beautiful like paintings on earth . Raven was awed by the scene because the lixuriousness and beauty was something else for him . This was the entrance to the Inner Court from the Outer Court in the Floating Cloud Sect .

Two guards were standing tall with straight backs like a spear at the two sides of the gate while an Elder was sitting in the small room beside the gate . He was responsible for checking the permits and the Outer Disciples who advanced to the Martial Master Realm , had to report to him first before saying goodbye to the shabby lifestyle in the Outer Court . Raven had heard that each Inner Disciple had personal mansion so he was excited right now . Raven did not waste any more time and straight walked inside the office and stood in front of the Elder .

" State your purpose "

" Elder , my name is Raven and I'm here to undertake the assessment to advance ranks and become Inner Disciple . "

" Hoo.. So you are than infamous Raven . Brat you became rich with measly points and your fame is really hot potato right now . "

" Hehehe.. It was just luck . "

" Anyway, I'm not surprised that you advanced to Martial Master Realm but still you will have to finish the formalities first. "

" Of course Elder . "

" Okay then let me assess your cultivation . " The Ekder said this and held the right hand of Raven while sending a gentle qi thread inside his body . But Raven was alarmed because this seemingly gentle qi was much stronger than his . Raven was glad that he gave a good impression to the Elder or he would have smashed to death by him in no time . Elders possessed much authority in the sect especially the ones responsible for guarding important posts and they cannot be casually offended by a disciple who does not possess a solid backing . Raven had the experience from Earth so he was alert on these matters .

" Good , Martial master Beginner . Alright now you just have to let me borrow your sect identity token for a while and I will reinforce it for you . Then we are done ."

Raven was surprised because this simple procedure could not be called a test at all . Still he did not mind as he was rather fond of simplicity . Raven obediently gave his small palm sized token to the Elder and decided to wait there for him to finish .

The Elder sent a powerful burst of qi inside the token and the original black colour changed to White . Raven was surprised because he did not think that the reason behind the different colour of badges would be so simple . He was reminded of a strange metal that he had read about in a book and immediately linked this phenomena to it . After the badge was complete white , the Elder placed the token on a stone slab that had a strange formation inscribed on it .

Some kind of detection energy was immediately picked up by Raven's Divine Sense and his resolve to learn more about Formations became stronger . There were too many magical things in this world and Raven absolutely wanted to see and possibly research them . The process only took seconds to complete and the token was back in Raven's hands .

The Elder waved his hand and the guards opened the huge door . Raven casually went inside with a smile hung on his face . New environment was waiting for him and he could not wait to improve his strenght and explore the outside world .

Soon the huge buildings greeted him which were all made of jade and sturdy stones . The differences were too visible compared to the Outer Sect . Soon a disciple wearing White Robes greeted Raven . He was the inner disciple who must have taken the mission for today's patrol in this area . Soon , Raven was asked to accompany the disciple to his new residence as according to him everything was already arranged when his token was regulated by the formation in the Elder's office . The efficiency anazed Raven as even the technology of Earth did not have such efficiency.

Raven passed through many buildings and the disciple next to him explained the purposes patiently with a polite tone . The journey unexpectedly lasted more than 2 hours as the Inner Court was too vast. In the end Raven finally saw his new home which was a small mansion made of red and white jade with a relatively big courtyard. The mansion had only 2 floors but the size was too satisfying for Raven who had only lived in a small apartment while back on earth . The disciple immediately went back and Raven after saying goodbye pushed open the big main door of his new home and went inside.
