7 Pro Boxing License Examination

A month has passed ever since Ichiro left the gym. It was now time for Kenshin to take his Pro Boxer License Examination. A lot has happened this month.

Similar to the anime, Ippo became aimless after defeating Ichiro and lose focus while training. To help him recover Coach Kamogawa asked him to train with Takamura who was training for his next match. And Takamura's hardcore training with extreme diet control amazed Ippo and he became ashamed of becoming happy with just a minor win.

At the end of that week, it was time for Takamra's match. Takamura won every single of his match with KO, so Korakuen Hall was full of people. Once the match started, Takamura showed the result of his training and easily crushed the opponent. After that Ippo trained hard and after a week it was Ippo's turn for getting a pro boxer license. Ippo easily defeated his opponent and got his license.

Takamura, Aoki, Kimura, Ippo, and Kenshin were standing in front of the gym and Coach Kamogawa who was standing beside the door looked at Kenshin and said, "Kid, you are probably the best student I have ever got. Just be yourself and you will be fine". Then Coach Kamogawa looked at the others and said, "Help the kid in paperwork if needed. Now go".

Kenshin looked at Coach Kamogawa and said, "Coach, there are very few boxers in my category, so please start sending them a challenge. If possible send 10th ranked of Japan super heavyweight class and write some provocative things so that they will immediately agree to our challenge".

"Kid, are you sure you want to challenge the 10th ranked person. You can start with lower-ranked person and gain experience than challenge them later", said Coach Kamogawa looking at Kenshin's calm face.

"No need, I am strong enough to face world-class boxers and most of them are training in the USA, so I cannot meddle with these weak people longer. I will surely by the end of next year challenge World Champion", said Kenshin with a confident face.

"Kid, sure have your way", said Coach Kamogawa grumpily, but you can see the happiness in his eyes.

"This bastard has gone crazy, thinking of challenging World Champ on the day he is going to get his Pro boxer license", said Aoki looking at Kenshin. Kimura didn't say anything and just looked at Kenshin's face. One could tell that Kimura was shocked by Kenshin's plan and ashamed of his tiny resolve.

"World Champion?? Kenshin-san you are strong but World Champion must be scary powerful", said the shocked Ippo. He has never dreamed big and now, somebody of his age is thinking of taking World Champion. He was shocked.

"It's not entirely impossible. His punches are very strong and I can vouch for that. Moreover, he trains harder than everybody in the gym along with those weights. It is not entirely impossible for him to win", said Takamura.

Aoki, Kimura, and Ippo were first shocked at first then they were determined to train even harder to improve.

After speaking with the coach, Kenshin turned towards Takamura and said, "Takamura-san, I will be waiting for you at the top. When you would crawl your way from middleweight to super heavyweight, I will be sure to give you a proper rematch".

Takamura's eye shone and he decided to train harder to quickly have a rematch with Kenshin. In the past few months, Kenshin has sparred with Takamura but Takamura felt that Kenshin was just playing with him and not fighting seriously. He knew the reason but is unable to accept the loss. Takamura is 25 kg lesser than Kenshin, so his punches are also equally less stronger. (Super Heavyweight boxers strength is enough to crush a person's skull. Moreover, this is a sports anime world where people are stronger than Earth)

"Okay but prepare to lose you asshole Kenshin", said Takamura. Coach Kamogawa was watching this with a smile as ever since Kenshin arrived at their gym, the atmosphere has become even more competitive and everybody has improved a lot.

"Okay brats, enough chit chat, now go", said Coach Kamogawa.

After walking for 30 minutes, they arrived at Korakuen Hall. In front of the main gate, there was a banner in which the location of the testing area was written. Takamura and the gang went to the stands and waited for the matched to begin while Kenshin went to the testing area.

Pro Boxer License Exam consists of two parts. 1st is Testing in which they test about ethics which is pure bullshit as the saying goes 'why would a thief declare that he is the thief'. The 2nd part was obviously sparring. It depends a lot on luck as if one gets a strong opponent and get defeated, he would have to wait another 6 months to register as a pro boxer.

And a specific date is chosen for heavyweight classes and above for their license testing exam as there are lesser numbers of boxers on that category. The testing part was finished quickly and they soon come to the hall where the sparring would take place. Kenshin was slightly surprised to see that the Korakuen was full.

The confused walked up to his friends and asked, "Is there some big fight after the license exam is done". Hearing this everybody's face twisted with anger.

"It is due to a professional basketball player who is becoming a professional boxer, so it is publicized in the basketball magazines, so there are a lot of fans here to support their star", said Aoki in an angry mode. Takamura and Kimura got angrier whereas Ippo was just standing there and watching the huge crowd.

"Oye Kenshin, if that bastard is paired with you, then be sure to give him hell", said Takamura. Kenshin just heard and nodded slightly and not saying anything anymore.

Soon, the sparring began and Ippo, Aoki, and Kimura were surprised to see the super heavyweight category boxers. Everybody was about Takamura's height or even more. They look full of muscles and all weighed more than 100 kg. Compared to them Kenshin looked skinny. (Kenshin is not skinny but compared to his buffed up competitors he looked skinny. Moreover, Kenshin practices Yoga nd kung fu which supports body flexibility. Yes, Kenshin is still practicing all his martial arts at least for 3 hours so that he will not lose the touch and continuously improve).

Then they looked at the star basketball player who is trying to enter into pro boxing. They have to admit it he sure was handsome coupled with 6ft 5 in height and a perfect body. But when they compared, they found that Kenshin was more handsome than that guy, they became proud of their friend.

But soon that noticed that many females were eyeing at Kenshin, all the pride they had for their friend dissolved and turned into slight envy.

Soon, it was Kenshin's turn and surprisingly his opponent was the star basketball player named Nakiri Aizen. As soon as Kenshin went up to the stage Aizen laughed at him and said, "You sure are skinny, you should know that you can never defeat me so you can go ahead and admit defeat".

After that the hall turned silent, all the fans started cheering harder. Takamura and gang were gobsmacked they thought that this guy is dead for sure, he went up ahead and mocked Kenshin. Meanwhile, Kenshin was also shocked, it was the first time in his life that he has seen such a character.

Seeing that Kenshin didn't reply Aizen thought that Kenshin must be scared so he didn't say anything further. After the referee gave them some instructions, the match begins.

As soon as the match begins, Aizen dashed towards Kenshin using his massive legs and send a couple of devastating jabs with his larger than normal arms. Kenshin still managed to find a gap between them and dodged them all smoothly and moved to the side. Aizen didn't give up and followed him and send a couple of powerful jabs and straights.

As Kenshin was caught unprepared, Kenshin quickly put up guard to defend him from those punches. From those punches, Kenshin estimated that they have power of a low-class lever master. If he has not encountered Kenshin here, he should be at least of the level of Japanese super heavyweight top ranker's strength.

Aizen's power was strong but it's not that much for Kenshin. Everybody in the hall thought that Kenshin is done for. By the sound of the impact, anyone can say that this was a devastating punch but they were shocked to see Kenshin was perfectly fine.

When Takamura and gang saw the powerful punch they were worried for Kenshin but they were relieved to find Kenshin completely fine.

"That Aizen guy is dead for sure. Kenshin is now angry", said Takamura.

"Are you sure Takamura-san, Kenshin looks completely normal", said Aoki. Kimura and Ippo looked at Takamura as if they are waiting for answers.

"Idiots, Kenshin doesn't show his emotions so he is the same but looks at his eyes. His stare gives me fright", said Takamura.

"Miyata-Kun said that Kenshin-san had once fought underground fights", said Ippo.

"Yeah, these are like the eyes of battle-hardened soldiers who have fought many life and death matches", said Takamura.

Kenshin was angry but not at Aizen but at himself as he said that he is ready to fight World Champ but cannot even evade the fist of a mere rookie who might have trained less than a year.

While this was going on, Aizen was also surprised to see Kenshin completely fine, he thought, "how is he fine after taking that blow, even Ichijou san who ranks 20th in Japan's super heavyweight category is affected by my punch when I trained with him". He has no time to think as he saw Kenshin slowly taking stances to punch.

Kenshin slowly got up and slowly took the stance to punch and send a powerful left jab towards Aizen. This was more like a left straight rather than a jab. Aizen who saw this punch coming put up his best guard.

"Boom"

This was the sound of the impact Aizen has received. Aizen was blown away a meter back then he fell on his knees. The referee came and started the countdown. Aizen was conscious but his whole body is so shocked he couldn't even stand up. Soon the countdown finished and Kenshin won the sparring.(Imagine this scene similar to Escanor vs Esterossa where Escanor brings Esterossa to his knees with a single punch)

Some of the fans of Aizen were grumbling but the majority of the Aizen fan became Kenshin's fan after his shocking performance. Soon other matched started and after that was over, Kenshin got his license.

After that Kenshin along with Takamura and gang went back to the gym happily.

The next day Kenshin's super punch was in the newspaper saying that 'Japan's hope for conquering the world heavyweight boxing'. The paper describes how destructive punch Kenshin's punch was after the loud booming noise and that Nakiri Aizen's hand bones broke and it will take him more than 3 months to recover. The newspaper also gave Kenshin a new nickname, "THE DESTROYER". Everybody in the gym was very happy. It was like a celebration.
