1 Chapter 1: The Arrangement

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. A loud beating at the door echoed throughout a 400 square foot library. The library had bookshelves attached to the walls, round glass tables with chairs around them, a picture a Cross hanging up on the wall, and a grey couch that sat in front of a black fire place. The floors were light gray wood and the walls were an off white. A woman with black hair that's length just touched underneath her shoulder blade stood in the middle of the room. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. "Open up," a voice shouted. She watched as the door moved while the men behind it banged on it. She yelled "you'll have to break the door down!" BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. They continued to beat on the door. Tears filled the woman's hazel brown eyes slowly rolling down her cheeks as she watched the door start to break. The woman held a sword in her hands and stood in a fighting position. BOOM, BOOM, CRACK. The cracks on the door grew bigger and bigger. WHAM! The door fell to the ground as 16 men entered the room some with swords drawn and others had arrows pointed at her. All the men expect one wore black pants, gray shirts, and black boots. The man who wore a different outfit from the others stood in front of the woman. He gave a crooked smile showing his chipped front tooth. He said "you know there's no where to run away from his highness. You need to stop all the fuss and surrender." The woman shouted "you'll have to kill me first." The man put his sword up to her neck and said "as much as I would enjoy killing you, I can't. His highness Prince Jax wants you alive and well and I intend to bring you to him whether it be peacefully or by force. Personally, Princess Kiana, I love doing things by force, makes things more interesting but I'll let you take your pick. So what do you chose?" She backed away and the man said "will you try to run away now? It will definitely annoy me and it won't work. We have the whole castle surrounded so your highness you can try to run but we've already have you trapped." She said "I will not be going down without a fight." He laughed and said "Alright your highness we can fight but know this for every struggle you cause us, for every fight you cause, we will burn down a house in your kingdom with the inhabitants trapped inside. So if you want to be the reason your people get murdered please by all means cause us trouble it'll make no difference for me, it'll just make my job more exciting, but if you surrender now than we won't burn anything down yet... So please lets reevaluate our decisions. Put down your sword or face the consequences of your own actions. Its up to you and I couldn't care less." Tears rushed down her cheeks as she dropped her sword. He turned around and said "alright men weapons away her highness has surrendered." The men put their weapons away and he turned back around to face her. She said "I hate you." He put his hairy arm out that had sweat dripping from the hairs towards her saying "come your highness Prince Jax is waiting." She grabbed his arm as he escorted her to a 300 square foot throne room. The throne room had 4 thrones that were made out of metal and were cushioned, a blue rug that led up to the thrones, a platform with 4 stairs that led up to the thrones, a glass bay window that had a glass door in it that led out on to a balcony where you could see the whole kingdom, dark blue colored walls, and a glass chandelier that hung in the center of the room. A man who had black shaggy hair, light gray eyes, and was muscular sat on one of the thrones. The man wore a white dress shirt, black pants, and black shoes with laces. He placed his elbow on the chair's arm rest and put his chin into the palm of his hand. With a cracked smile he looked at Kiana and let out a sigh. The man who escorted Kiana bowed and said "your highness Prince Jax we've brought to you a present." Jax said "and a beautiful present she is." Jax stood to his feet and said "leave us." The man left Jax and Kiana and Jax said "do you like the guards I sent?" Kiana's looked at Jax with a blank stare and tears dripped from her chin. Jax said "you don't need to be afraid of me. You see I want you and I to rule our kingdoms together." Kiana said "and why, why would I marry someone who single handedly destroyed his own kingdom. You starved your own people running out of resources and yet you think that I Princess of The Zeena Kingdom will marry you? Don't make me laugh." Jax scoffed as he stared at Kiana saying "the people of The Avana Kingdom were weak that is why they started dying off and that is why we ran out of resources." Kiana shouted "they died because you let them! You chose to make them suffer, you chose to starve your people. Your kingdom once held 270,000 people and now there's less that 12,000 left and the majority of those people are in your army. I will not let you destroy my kingdom!" Jax said "you are the wealthiest kingdom in the world, you have all the resources you need to survive. You and your kingdom are striving and growing. The people of Avana need wealth and growth like this. We need a ruler like you Kiana. Me and you can rule together have all the power in the world! Don't you want that?" Kiana said "no I don't." Jax said "well as the Prince of the strongest army in the world. I would watch your tongue." Kiana shouted "if your so strong then why haven't you over taken my whole kingdom? Why keep me alive?" Jax walked up to her, touched her face, and said "because I don't just want the kingdom, I want you and you will be mine or you will watch your kingdom burn to the ground as I take everything you own." Kiana said "you can't do this. You can't kill and harm my home, you can't kill my people." Jax said "well I wouldn't be killing them now would I. If you really think about it I gave you the option of saving all their lives by marrying me. If you choose to decline my offer then I will have no choice but to burn the kingdom down, after all why would I care about a kingdom that has no ties to me? You'll be nothing more the a wall in my way that needs to be destroyed. If you want to ignore my offer it'll only make me wealthy with no obligations to anyone but if you marry me The Zeena Kingdom will also be my obligation and I'll have to take care of it. I wouldn't burn my own people down to the ground but the choice is your's so what do you want to do Princess Kiana of The Zeena Kingdom?" Kiana stared at him as tears blurred her vision saying "I have no choice then. I will marry you..." Jax said "I knew you were a smart girl." He grabbed her hands, she broke free out of his grip, and slapped him while shouting "I hate you." He rubbed the side of his face while smiling, grabbed her, and said "you will make a perfect wife and a perfect queen." She pushed him away from her and covered her face as her tears seeped through the cracks of her hands. Jax smiled and said "you will grow to love me and love being my wife. You will see what true power is! We must celebrate our engagement, me and my beloved fiance."
