Li Jun looked at the bunch of men surrounding Yu Yan with an angry expression.
Yu Yan was not a short woman at 1.70 meters but the men who were standing around her towered over her like huge walls keeping him away from his own wife.
"Aren't you guys here to see me? I am right here" Li Jun said in his usual tone of voice from his bed.
No one heard him.
Li Jun coughed loudly, but no one noticed it either.
He rolled his eyes.
"Yu Yan, darling" He called loudly.
Yu Yan looked at him, as did the rest of her male companions.
"Go make some tea for our guest, its not polite to keep them thirsty" Li Jun said trying to get her away from the pack of wolves around her.
"Just call someone," Yu Yan said in her usual sweet voice and turned towards the exquisite artefacts and gifts Shi Chongkun had brought for her from the Philippines.
Yu Yan was fully immersed in Shi Chongkun's stories of haunted seas and baby stealing demons, he had heard about from over there in the Phillipines.
"What happened after the woman went to the hospital?" Yu Yan asked Shi Chongkun to finish his story.
Shi Chongkun smiled warmly at her. " The baby was gone. It wasn't in her belly anymore.Everyone was baffled...But there was a small visible hole in the woman's belly" He finished as Yu Yan looked at Shi Chongkun like he was the only man in the world. Her excited face was so cute.
"Oh my goodness.. that's horrifying" Yu Yan said with a huge smile on her face.
This trick to get Yu Yan's attention always worked.
'She loves ghost stories more than she loves me' Li Jun sulked.
HOW DID THIS COME ABOUT?
This afternoon, Li Jun had asked Yu Yan to charge his phone for him and Shi Chongkon had called exactly at that moment.
Since Yu Yan was a good friend of Shi Chongkun's as well, She picked up the phone without any inhibitions.
Shi Chongkun had come to China from his work-stay in the Philippines and wanted to visit with them.
Li Jun was helpless as Yu Yan invited Shi Chongkon to come and stay with them before he left for San Fransisco instead of living in his lonely apartment.
Shi Chongkun accepted happily.Also he was going to bring a friend.
She also told Shi Chongkon about Li Jun not being well and having to miss work for a week. Shi Chongkun had not believed her because he had never seen Li Jun sick enough to miss work for a week. Yu Yan laughed at that as Li Jun just stared at her great amusement.
Shi Chongkun had arrived in only a few minutes, not only with gifts but also with other guy friends including Murong Jian, who had been blacklisted from a visit to Li Jun and Yu Yan's home and even at the company.
They entered Li Jun's bedroom because how else would they meet him. But instead of asking him about his health,they had gathered around Yu Yan and were speaking to her rather than talk to the stone faced man on the bed. They did not want to get scolded.
Right now Murong Jian was trying to suck up to Yu Yan as if his life depended on it. He kept calling her sister in law this and sister in law that. He really needed Yu Yan's help in pursuading Li Jun to return the investment money Li Jun had made to the Murong family's company.
Li Jun had pulled back all his investments after the pool party and told Murong Jian's father to teach Murong Jian some manners on how to behave at someone else' home. Murong Jian had been scolded by his father very badly and was told to apologise to Li Jun. He had tried to do just that but Li Jun had blacklisted him everywhere and he could not be reached via other means as well. This was his great chance. He would leech off of Shi Chongkun this time.
The only way to Li Jun's heart was through Yu Yan so he had to get Yu Yan to help him.
Li Jun knew his agenda but it was useless.. Murong Jian sucked up to his wife a little too late.
There was another man that Li Jun did not know yet. He was a billionaire heir from the Philippines and he had taken an instant liking to Yu Yan from what he saw.Not a romantic kind of liking but Li Jun was not pleased nonetheless.
"Yu Yan, try this one. Its the best among them" The new guy from the Philippines said with familiarity as he handed her one chocolate from a box.
"Yan Yan don't be fooled by this chocolates. It is easily the most expensive ones in the Asian market right now. It is made from Swiss chocolates and edible gold" Shi Chongkun explained for his friend.
"My company recently launched this product and I thought it was cool if you try and like it. I can always get you some more" Miguel Ty was a humble man.
"Oh? But didn't you just say that you were in hotel business?" Yu Yan asked confused.
"Yes, Its a family business" Miguel smiled. "The chocolate is my personal business.Kind of like how your husband has his own investment company aside from working at the family business" Miguel Ty explained.
"Li Jun has his own investment company?" Yu Yan asked confused.
"Among other things"Shi Chongkun laughed.It was so typical of Yu Yan to not know and typical of Li Jun to not tell. This couple must be busy talking about romantic stuffs rather than boring subjects like business. Shi Chongkun ruffled Yu Yan's hair to let her know she was too silly.
Li Jun watched his actions with murder in his eyes. He knew Shi Chongkun liked Yu Yan like a sister and that was the only thing stopping him from jumping up from the bed and throttling his best friend on the floor.
